San Antonio blends a rich heritage with modern innovation, resulting in a metropolis teeming with true Texan heart. San Antonio’s distinctive environment reflects centuries of style and a diverse array of culture, which is best exemplified in the La Villita Historic Arts Village. The Alamo may be the most renowned structure in the city, but there are plenty of magnificent historical buildings to see—from the Emily Morgan Hotel to the Meyer Halff House.
Stretched along the San Antonio River is the famous River Walk, where residents and visitors alike can walk or bike from the San Antonio Zoo to the Witte Museum, the historic Majestic Theatre, the Shops at Rivercenter, the Missions of San Antonio and back again.
The city and the surrounding region offer endless opportunities for exploration.

Property Ratings at Charleston
I agree, 100% with the review posted on June 12, 2023 with the title: AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE -HORRIBLE, and all the things stated. I believe that this property is under a maintenance and management crisis. Do not be fooled by a friendly face taking you on a tour. It sure does look nice, but what they won't tell you is: the pool(s) were closed for most of the heatwave, for maintenance; the security gates have been left open for more that 2 weeks with no notice posted as to when they will be closed; the maintenance crew reduced from 4 (where some lived on site) to 2 (that live a great distance away, and could care less during an emergency, are unequipped to handle such emergencies anyway; the management is constantly sending out threatening "fines" emails to the residents; the management seems to be more concerned, as of late, in hosting events for their residents vs. fixing emergency maintenance issues. If you still choose to move into this community, be sure you insist on walking through the actual unit you will be renting. Also, find out which AC units is connected to the unit you will be renting. At least half of the units are still operating with the original units from the building date of 1994! You will be paying through the roof for your utility bill, and it will never keep up with the heat to make your apartment livable.
They have a useless on-site maintenance crew who is unprofessional and unpleasant. I have submitted nearly 10 service requests for an AC unit that DOES NOT WORK and the request gets marked as complete BUT my unit continues to get hotter. I plan to move out ASAP DO NOT MOVE INTO THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX! YOU WILL BE SORRY YOU DID.
First I must say that the scenery of cleaniness and curb appeal of property is simply lovely and well maintained. The lovely ladies in front office are simply amazing. The maintenance team continuously delivers quick, clean and efficient service. However, this community represents one big family and most of the staff stay on property which speaks volumes about the community. I also appreciate the character of the mature working class this property attracts. Nevertheless, I believe the rent is fair and condusive to the floor plans and according to the income median in this area. Last, If you're looking for a quiet, clean, mature atmosphere then Charleston is for You.
I really like this place, but...Don't rent 1st floors. Initially I had on issues, my former nieghbors had carpetin. During their renovation carpets were removed and replaced with linoleum. No padding was used, therefore causing excessive noise. The top floor creaks loud! Especially if the top floor tenants workout. After several videos, Ms Bonnie's (Mgr) lame response was "noise is a matter of perception". After seeing other reviews I noticed, I'm not the first tenant to address these same noise concerns. Their reviews are similar to mine. I'm a paying tenant and my perception didn't matter. After several emails and one meeting with Ms Bonnie, she no longer returns calls. Ms Christina and Bonnie are very sweet during the lease process. The minute you address an issue they shut you out. This is very disappointing.
Coming from Los angeles , I lived in a first floor apartment building and never had one problem at all. Moving from a place where you been all your life to San Antonio is a huge move. Especially when you have it made. But I just started a beautiful family. San Antonio is half the price of LA in every aspect even school. If you want to live in a very small creaky , built in the 90’s apartment that has creaky upstairs floors where you can hear everything your neighbors are doing this is the dream home for you ! I never once had a noise issue in Los Angeles but the day I moved here it was nothing but stomping , I can hear when they shower , I can hear when they argue , come home etc. I’ve spoken to multiple people and all the apartments are like this. I went as far as recording the noise for proof and spoke to the manager bonnie 8 times on record and had emails and in person interviews . I have over 50 videos on my phone of them slamming into the walls. But all I got was “ the noise we here might be loud to you , but to us it’s just regular noise and those are very nice people “ . She had their back over mine and never once did anything to help me . Can you imagine going all in on an apartment with a new baby boy and having him wake up screaming because there’s neighbors stomping and arguing upstairs and you can’t do anything about it at all. The people that are suppose to help you , won’t help you at all . Isn’t that alarming ? How crazy does that sound cause here at park at walkers ranch its reality. They won’t help you . They won’t renovate. They just have you deal with it even though you are stressing everyday over people that have control over the way you live in an apartment. Do not move here . Worst bang for your buck.

We're sorry to hear that you're having a difficult time here at Park at Walkers Ranch. Providing excellent customer service is one of our most important parts of our job and we apologize that this isn't what you feel you have been receiving. We understand that noise transfer can be a serious issue in apartment living and want to try to assist as best we can. We'd love the opportunity to speak with you directly about your concerns and how we can make things better for you, so please calls or stop by the office. We look forward to speaking to you.
With this being my first apartment, I had unrealistic visions of what I wanted it to be like. I thought all the pictures I saw on the internet was exactly like it was going to be. The apartment complex and apartments are outdated, but functional. There is a big perk with my attached 1 car garage that leads into my apartment. This complex is great, just needs some updating. the only major updates needed are the appliances and tub surround.
Great location and friendly people has ever thing I need and more.
The Park at Walkers Ranch is beautiful inside meaning internally with staff and the inside apartments as well as the outside. I first lived in these apartments in 2009 to 2011 and loved them so much I returned to rent them in 2014.These gated community apartments are located in the north central area and close to 1604, 281 and 410. They have two swimming pools, a workout room, hard wood floors (first floor units only) attached garages (on certain floor plans), and covered parking. The apartments were under CWS management and just recently switched to Inland Residential Real Estate Services. The switch of management has been miraculous! The office hours are more convenient and they are even open on Sundays! Not to mention their excellent maintenance team and office staff. If you are looking for a comfortable, quiet apartment home with exceptional maintenance and staff, make The Park at Walkers Ranch your next home!!
Let's me start with the benefits of this apartment complex. Great location! Nice trees. Well layed out floor plans. Old complex but Recently renovated. Attached garages for a reasonably price. Now let me move onto the negative aspects, there is horrible parking. Appliances and cabinets in kitchen must be original and need to be replaced. Some residents do not pick up after their pets so watch out if your walking in the grass.
