Greenbelt is a scenic suburb ideally positioned at the intersection of multiple major highways, including the Baltimore-Washington Parkway and the Capital Beltway. Close proximity to these highways affords many residents short commutes, in addition to the city’s convenience to top employers like the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, the Department of Agriculture Research Center, and the University of Maryland. Washington, DC and Annapolis and Baltimore, MD are also within commuting distance of Greenbelt.
Despite Greenbelt’s close proximity to several urban centers, the city maintains a distinct suburban vibe. Lush tree-lined streets lead to tranquil parks such as Greenbelt Park, Buddy Attick Lake Park, and Schrom Hills Recreation Center in Greenbelt, where residents can enjoy an array of recreational activities. Shopping opportunities abound at Beltway Plaza Mall, Roosevelt Center, and Greenway Center.

Property Ratings at Charlestowne North
What a year it's been. I started off at my initial move-in last year with cockroaches crawling out of every corner and management being totally unresponsive to my repeated requests to seal up the cracks through which they were coming through and remove the dishwasher in which they were nesting. Then came the unbearable heat in the summer when the air conditioning broke down and management had a snail paced response to fixing the problem. Then came the mold in September which took them 3 weeks after my initial notice for them to look in on, and I could still see in the vents throughout the house after they supposedly 'fixed' it. I am still finding some personal items covered in mold 2 months later.Elevators and laundry machines are frequently broken down, and locks on main entrance doors have been broken for over 6 months with no obvious inclination from management to fix it. They also decided to impose new outrageously high utility bills on all residents in the middle of the lease. The cherry on top though, is that should you owe rent or they miscalculate (as they often do) and claim you owe some dubious sum, you will hear from them ASAP. Ask them though to clarify or give credit, and you will be better off talking to a wall. Sigh. Do not walk. Run! Run away as fast as you can from this apartment. You might even be better off living in a tree than this place - at the very least, you'll know what your expectations are.

We are so sorry to hear about your experience at Charlestowne North. We've since changed management and are working tirelessly to make our property a place that everyone loves. If there is anything you need please let our team know!
Unresponsive, lack of care altogether. New management does not care about the requests of the tenants and more than half of the time you will not get a response or resolution to your issues. This place has gone severely downhill since Livingo Communities took over. Wouldn’t be surprised if formal complaints are brought against this place in the near future

Hello - We are so sorry to hear about this. We've since switched up property ownership and management teams. We are working very hard to foster a better environment for our tenants. Please let our team know how we can make your life better in the future!
I'm trying to find my way out as we speak. New management is awful. Staff is unresponsive. New charges are now emerging in the middle of the lease and now there are mice. Go somewhere else.

We are so sorry to hear this. Please be advised, we are now under new management. We are doing our best to make Charlestowne North the greatest it can possibly be. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you!
Complex was fine/tolerable before but new management is shady and trying to add in extra charges/fees for tenants. They are also not attentive to the property and slacking with general, basic maintenance work. One person is working in the leasing office now and they try their best to keep up with everyone but who ever bought this property is no help to them whatsoever. Also, heads up - utilities are no longer all included.

I lived here for 5 years but just had to relocate for a new job and had a positive experience so I thought I'd leave a review: the staff are trustworthy, and that word is only offered under careful restraint when warranted which is evidenced by the resolution of each concern I had. Access to the building is controlled by electronic keycards/keyfobs ensuring occupant safety while checking mail or visiting a neighbor. The grounds were always very well-maintained, with colorful flowers blooming, the grass always cut, and snow always plowed very quickly. Local law enforcement live in the building. Maintenance staff show up the same day to see what's going on and they either fix it on the spot or they order the parts needed. The location is unbelievable...it's directly next to Buddy Attick Park and there are 3 more parks within 8 minutes (Lake Artemesia, Greenbelt Park, and Patuxant Wildlife Reserve). I love the pool during the hotter months, even better is that attractive women love it too which gives me the chance to say hi...and over half the people that live here are friendly/well-mannered, which is far higher than many other places I've lived at...I'd say 8 out of 10 people will be friendly/well-mannered. The Property Manager always has a smile on her face even though she deals with a lot (the normal manager issues like billing, scheduling, calls, etc). She arranges a presence in the office on Saturdays, which is becoming increasingly rare among apartment complexes, and even more rare is that they have Sunday hours, all of which I was always greatly appreciative of.
The management in this complex is awful. This week 5/5/18, the outside temperature ranged from 80-92 degrees Fahrenheit. My apartment was 91 degrees, and facing the sun. I thought the A/C was broken. When I inquired to management about the temperature, they stated that they are not turning the A/C on until the second week of May, despite the miserably high temperature of the building. I decided to talk to management the next day about the issue, but they took the day off for a "company day" while residents suffered in the sweltering heat of their tenement. So I called maintenance. The voicemail of the maintenance service states that they only respond to emergencies, and that in order for my circumstance to be an emergency, the outside temperature must be at least 85 degrees Fahrenheit (the actual temperature was 90 degrees). When I was connected to the maintenance man, I was told that A/C is a luxury and that I should go buy a fan (which I have). I have a 6 month old child, who was dripping in sweat last night. I have not slept in 3 days. This is absolutely terrible management. Also, there are dead bugs everywhere.

Sept 2016 move into Charlestowne North. Found the 2 bedroom Apt spacious, large living areas and great amenities, fitness center, pool, entertainment facility. Excellent internet cable speed too. Management and staff welcoming and found the maintenance staff quick to repair minor problems. Online leasing applications, easy to complete with tenant online application/online account for continued services. Located 3 Minutes walking distance to Greenbelt Buddy Attick Lake. Close by the Greenbelt community center with many festival days and activities. Local Cafe has in house live music entertainment. Library and Aquatic center with co-op super market. More recreation areas such as Lake Artemesia nearby. Also 5 minutes by car to the main shopping mall and quick access to the 495 - 95 highway and the popular recreation of Lake Artemesia..
Moving from a single family home to an apartment can be challenging, however living here makes the transition not only seamless and but pleasurable as well. The leasing office staff, maintenance and even tenants are helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. It really does feel like a family here, and yes, you do have a sense of privacy too. This is a secure building and the apartments are spacious, with stellar views, modern appliances, great closet space and it's steps to a beautiful park, lake and public transportation. The building is situated in a quiet residential area, however, it's centrally located to colleges, NASA, downtown Washington DC and Baltimore. There's a lovely, community center room with a TV and an outdoor pool are on the premises as well. Clean, functional, laundry facilities on every floor, and the on site Fitness Center with state of the art equipment is really convenient. All utilities are included and the area High School is ranked one of the best by US News & World Reports.
This is my best experience ever living in an apartment. With a clean and modern building, all-inclusive fitness facilities, friendly property managers, a natural park nearby, and public library and shopping malls within walkable distance, Charlestowne North is a place, where you feel safe, home, and a pleasing human life.

Charlestowne North, may be my first apartment, but I can assure you, I have very high standards and they met the qualifications. For starters, what caught my eye was that they are all utilities included. It's so awesome not having to worry about those extra bills coming in. Just pay rent and be done. Also, they allow pets, which was good for me because I did have a cat with me. And their pet fees aren't rediculous and they are refundable at move out. Also what I LOVE is that it's a secure building. All doors leading to outside are locked. There are only 2 doors that are points of entry and you need a key fob to get into both, unless you use the call box at the front door. Everyone in the office is amazing. Kelley was so nice getting us in. And whatever questions I had, she answered very quickly. There were even times when I was a day late for rent and she accepted it for me with no late fees. She's the best. I also love that the apartment is open parking. No passes required. So I can have friends or family stay over without having to worry about having their cars towed. My apartment is lovely. I have a 1 bed with a den. Everything is perfect. I even have a great bay window over looking the pool. The floor plans are bigger than most apartments. You can paint and hang pictures too as long as you return the apartment to the original state before you leave. Also, the apartments are right next to a walking trail that goes around a huge lake and tennis courts. Overall charlestowne north is amazing. It's quiet, secluded, clean, and friendly. It's a great place to live and I don't plan on leaving anytime soon.
