Property Ratings at Chateau Apartments
Good apartments for first time renters. I’ve lived over here for almost 2 years. The complex is under new management and Toni is very nice as well as the maintenance staff. I’m not sure about other apartments but mine looked a little different than the model. It’s generally a quiet area with the exception of some people speeding down S’port Barksdale hwy and Clyde Fant at night. The living grounds on the front are maintained nicer then the living grounds in the back. The laundry facility is always clean just make sure you load your card before the office closes. The pools are well maintained all throughout the year. The trash in the back piles up fairly quickly. The lights on the side of the building are very dim at night, and the parking lot isn’t light up well either. Most residents park in guest spaces to avoid walking a longer distance to their apartment, so your company may not have a place to park. Neighbors are friendly. The walk in closets are HUGE!!! There is an issue with stray cats. The apartments are a bit older but I do believe the management and staff are doing everything they can to update the property in a timely manner as best as they can.
Neighbors upstairs smoke weed and nothing seems to be done about it. The tenets above the office also smoke marijuana so don't be surprised if you're greeted with the pungent smell when you stroll into the leasing office. I've stayed here several years and nothing has gotten better. The property is under new management and they're so lax with everything. Complain about the marijuana smell and they say there is nothing they can do. However in the lease it states no illegal activities. There are only 6 washers and only 5 of them work usually. I'd think twice about moving here if i were you. I'll be moving once my lease is up.

Quiet area. Nice apts. Biggest problem is plumbing. If you live in a downstairs apt you will have plumbing issues. Guaranteed. The upstairs plumbing is connected to the downstairs plumbing. So often your tub will drain slow, your tub will also fill up randomly with whatever your upstairs neighbor puts down their drain in their kitchen or whenever they run their dishwasher. Yea, its super gross. .. You'll also see random pools of water in your kitchen or hallway from time to time. I love the property because it's so quiet and peaceful. .with that being said the plumbing issues are the main reason i can't give it more than 2 stars. Moral of the story is... get an upstairs apt!!!
I was so excited to find a great complex. Great price for the space. My son is autistic and he loves it!!!! Staff is wonderful! Nice neighbors.
