However, Lancaster is also home to a vibrant downtown district brimming with diverse eateries, eclectic boutiques, charming coffee shops, and local markets in well-preserved historic buildings along brick-lined streets.
With a focus on historic preservation, Lancaster offers an array of historic sites and architecture, including 57 landmarks listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Property Ratings at Chateau d'Eden
I was in a 2 bedroom unit and it was beautiful. The few times I required maintenance, they were there within 2 days!! Very commendable. The Murray Staff is excellent to work with. I would recommend this complex 100%. Ron Reese
The price starting out is not bad, however, you pay for every single utility and even the ones you do not use. Our apartment did not have Gas, but since the complex did, we had to pay two shares worth of gas. If you do have gas, you do not pay for what you use. It goes into some pot for everyone to pay equally based on the amount of people living there so, basically never turn off your heat and have your neighbors pay for it style. Second, you have to pay for any light fixture that may burn out while you are living there. If the fridge light goes out, to replace that is on you and not the company. So, in the end, they come by to put some mulch down, salt in the winter (which is nice) and may fix some of your apartment issues. It costs about the same as a 170,000 home with the same if not more expensive utilities in my opinion. If you have the money to put down on a good starter home, I would recommended it before renting here since its a sink hole of money. Also, after our first year they wanted to do a $80 increase. (8% increase). The one great thing about the place and why we chose to stay here is the location. If you commute from Harrisburg to Reading area it is a great location. The highway is about 3 minutes away and you do not have any noise coming from it. Also, there are a lot of great eateries around and about 5 minutes from the city. All in all, if you NEED a nice place to live for only a year, this place does nicely. I definitely would not recommend having more than two people live here since the utilities are split based on person and not actual usage.
Close to downtown and shopping facilities in Lancaster,PA.. Far enough away from the hectic traffic of the city and ideal for senior citizens . Priced right and properly maintained.. I am glad to be a tenant here for the last ten years.
