Property Ratings at Chateau Du Mont Townhomes
Our unit was infested with ROACHES since DAY 1. We called to inform management the first week about roaches crawling out of the cracks in our walls. Maintenance came and caulked the cracks instead of properly repairing them. The only solution that was offered was having their exterminator to spray on multiple occasions which solved nothing! I spoke with the exterminator on several occasions about the infestation and was left with sticky pads. Management NEVER made one single notation of our complaints and claims the exterminator doesn’t report infestation back to them. When I went to management and told them we needed to break the lease because of the infestation I was told that there were never any notations made about an infestation and in order to break my lease I’d have to pay twice the rent. I told her I’ve reported the roaches since day one and it’s not my responsibility to notate that and that the unit was uninhabitable and I refuse to pay extra to get out of these circumstances. There is no way I could possibly afford to pay twice the rent for an infested unit to break the lease as well as a deposit and first months rent at a new location, on top of having to replace all my furniture that was ruined by the facilities infestation! I was told that looks like it’ll just be sent to collections. Forcing me to either pay extra to break the the lease or be sent to collections put me in between a rock and a hard place because I needed to leave for the health and well being of my family but couldn’t afford to pay. This is gonna take a huge hit on my credit score but I will be disputing this and am willing to take it to court if necessary with witnesses and the whole 9 yards. Forcing someone to live in these conditions is unethical and management should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of innocent people like that. The whole situation was extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate. REAL FAMILIES live in these units and managements only concern is how they can make a buck! Absolutely NO regard for the health or well being of myself or my family and on top of that tried to act as if they weren’t responsible for moving us in to health hazardous conditions!
No communication from management (via phone or email), apartment homes have severe foundation/plumbing issues. Flooding in units is a huge issue. Parking is not assigned and front units on left side don't have any parking. Very small maintenance staff, requests are rarely taken care of. Leasing agent is not knowledgeable, nor authorized to make any decisions and property manager is never on site, works from home. Do not sign an extensive lease and do month-to-month if you have no other options for renting elsewhere. All requests should be in writing and take photos of everything, document everything, and learn names.
