National publications constantly place Pittsburgh near the top of the list for most livable cities in America, and it’s easy to see why. The city has a rich history as an industrial and economic hub, which led to the construction of many grand buildings and public sculptures which still stand today. Downtown in particular is rich with beautifully preserved buildings and lush public parks dating back well over a century, giving the entire community a timeless atmosphere.
Pittsburgh is split into three sections by the rivers passing through the city: Downtown (a.k.a. “The Golden Triangle), the North Side, and the South Side. Each has its fair share of attractions and landmarks: the North Side is home to Acrisure Stadium and PNC Park (making it a perfect area for sports fans), the South Side features big, beautiful greenways and refurbished steel mills, and Downtown is where you’ll find the most variety in dining, nightlife, and entertainment.

Property Ratings at Chateaugay Apartments
I was in this building for a few years and it was completely renovated when I was there--top to bottom. My apartment was one of the first that I know of, but the hallways, elevators, and just about everything was brand new. My manager was Tina who was great at giving me my packages (almost every week). The thai restaruant at the bottom of the hill is amazing and the T station was close. I had a great time in my apartment though never and would move there again if I was back in the area.
Poor management will not recommend moving here place is falling apart smells bad like cat urine and cigarettes and they never fix anything
Run, as fast as you can. We would not recommend this place: horrific management, the building is very old with mold spores and the electric bill is insanely high. There are WAY better places to choose from. Don’t go by the fake 4.8 star reviews like we did. Worst decision.
You will regret moving in this apartment. Worst management. Very rude and do not care about Tenats.
I lived in this apartment for 4 years and I have a lot of problems, this building is really old and the maintenance issue is going on all the time. You should not be surprised if you do not have water when you take a shower and they do not let you know about it. Everything is running with electricity and during the winter I paid almost $500 and, my apartment was still cold. They do not have a playground area and they do not even have enough parking lot for the tenants, if you want to park at the garage, you need to pay extra money. Someone hit my parked car at the parking lot, the building has a camera, but it is useless during the night, there is no light at the parking lot. If you need anything to be fixed, they are putting you in a work order, you will see maintenance guy after a couple of days. instead of replacing a simple garbage disposal, they are trying to fix it again and again. In 4 years they did not do any updates for the building.
Looking at apartments and these seemed nice. Emailed them that I would be coming the next week (from Virginia) during office hours to see a unit, asked if I need to make an appointment. Never received a reply. Went there in person during business hours - 1pm on a Monday. There is a call box at the front door you have to dial, it rang and rang, then we were buzzed into the building. (Not secure AT ALL) There were no people. We wandered through the lobby and found a closed locked door that said "office" deep in the building, but nobody answered. Called the number on the windows and stated I was there, nobody answered, and nobody ever called back. I gave this place so many opportunities to work with me and they gave absolutely nothing in return. Not only will I never rent here, I will never rent any unit that this management company handles. If a prospective renter has this much trouble speaking to someone, I can only imagine what a nightmare they are to deal with if you have an issue when you live there. Stay away! Also the parking lot is TERRIBLE.
We've lived here for a few years now. The building and area are nice, close to shopping and the T-Line. There have been maintenance issues with the building over the years. It can take days to weeks for them to get taken care of but they do get resolved. The biggest problem here is the huge electric bills. This is an older brick building with little to no efficient energy rating so you'll have huge electric bills in the winter. Some folks living here have said they were as high as $400 to $600 a month in the winter. They are high in the Summer too being around $200. We have not seen any bug or pest problems and everyone is quite and friendly for the most part. There are no parks or play areas on the apartment grounds but there are some in the area. The building is quite and clean for the most part. The apartment itself is nice and clean. We have an upgraded kitchen which is nice, dishwasher, disposal, etc. The building has a garbage shoot so no walking trash to a dumpster unless you have big items to toss. The parking can be a pain and at times the fire alarms go off a few times a year due to building issues but over all it is a nice place to live. We compared numerous other apartment buildings and despite the extreme electric bills here have decided to stay.
