Property Ratings at Chatham Wood Apartments
Not worth it for the crummy amenities and outdated apartments. Rent keeps going up but my unit stays the same. Not sure why I'm even paying so much at this point. I've asked every year for 5 years to have the old (falling apart) carpet replaced, and it's never been done. All I've gotten is empty promises and excuses. Not to mention the communication here is absolutely terrible! You are told work will be completed on x day(so rearrange your life and make sure you are ready) only for no one to show up, even after speaking with the office to confirm. No call, no notice, no apology just a make sure you rearrange your life again on another day so we can come back. Unfortunately this isn't the first time I've had to deal with this lack of consideration. Another huge concern is how unsafe I feel here, it is not well lit at all, building lights malfunction all the time, leaving entry ways in darkness. My car has been broken into on 3 separate occasions as the parking lots are also poorly lit. The buildings at the back of the complex are the worst, strange people who do not live here do drugs and hang around in the breeze ways. Please if you live alone, avoid this place. I'm thrilled that we decided not to renew our lease and I cannot in good conscience reccomend this complex to anyone else.

I just moved in and I am very happy that I did. when I moved in the apartment was ready to go, I have lived in apartments for many decades and this is one of the better moves that I have made. Office staff is friendly and welcoming, maintenance staff got things right. location is great. I am very happy . Come check them out.

We are excited to have you with us and to see that your time here has gotten off to a great start! Please do not hesitate to let us know if you were to need anything or were to have any questions going forward. Welcome home!
Pros: Property managers committed to solving problems, if they even come up (thanks Shannon!). Little to no excessive noise (good neighbors?) Well laid out apartments. All space can be used effectively. Parking *generally* isn't an issue. Don't have to walk far. There is an overflow, just in case. Feels safe without needing overbearing community gates or anything. Well laid out landscaping, but definitely needs more sidewalks. The office collects mail that doesn't fit in the standard mailbox. The maintenance staff are nice & competent. Typically the problem will get solved within a day or two for smaller/simple stuff. Plenty of storage space. Flexible leasing. Cons: Some of the less expensive apartments can be pretty basic - no frills. Could use some minor renovations, i.e. resealing the windows and doors, redo the trim and spattered paint on flooring, potentially upgrade appliances & central air units. Needs better (cardkey?) access to the pool and exercise equipment. Often the pool can be closed well before its regularly cold outside.
Today my friend and I got bad news about an apartment we were looking for until we found Chatham Woods Apartments and made the impulse drive there. We were greeted with a smile and welcoming face, Misty. She was very enlightening on our tour and answered any questions we had. She was very fun and delightful and I wish all the other apartments we looked at had people like her. I am glad to say we have found a place and beyond ready to move into our new home and become part of Chatham Woods Community!

Thank you for kind words. It was a pleasure meeting you and your roommate and I am thrilled to have you guys joining the Chatham Wood Community. I look forward to seeing you often!
I was greeted very nicely, very respectful, and taken very seriously. The staff here are super sweet and very helpful.
I highly recommend Chatham Wood Apartment Homes! I have had one of the best living experiences while renting here for one year. The staff are helpful and friendly and maintenance requests are completed in an extremely timely manner. I've always felt safe in this area and their property is beautiful. The grounds are well-kept and the pools are a refreshing treat. You are close to restaurants, shopping, grocery stores, and Oak Hollow Lake. If I wasn't moving out of High Point, I would definitely be renewing for another year. Thanks for a great experience Chatham Wood!
I moved here because I was looking for a quiet place to live and that’s what I got originally. And then everything just kind of changed. My unit itself is okay for the price and the maintenance workers are absolutely wonderful. There’s a wonderful playground and 2 pools, plus a dog park. The overall management of the complex has left me pretty upset on more than one occasion though. They refused to let my ESA live on the property based on her breed, which is illegal to do. My neighbors have caused more than one issue that I have brought to the attention of management and they’ve done nothing about any of it. Not even the children being left home alone all day that are under the age of 10. Overall, living here was not that bad. A few incidents that involved the police (probably 2x/month), but very very friendly neighbors. If you have the patience for the office staff, then I recommend this place. Otherwise I recommend going literally anywhere else if you want to be treated with respect.
I love this place. I have been living here for six months and everyone is just wonderful and helpful. The maintenance is always done in a timely manner and the management makes a point to make you feel at home. Due to unforeseen circumstances I am having to move. I told management what was going on and they have went above and beyond with helping me out with anything that I need. I would recommend this place to anyone that wanted a place in High Point that was really convenient to everything.

Thank you so much! Chatham Wood is more than an apartment to us, it is a community, and we’re thrilled it is also your home. Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to make the moving process easier for you. We hate to see you go, but we are here if we can help with anything along the way!
I used to live there. It was purchased by a Mega Corporation. It went downhill FAST. The biggest reason? The management. It SUCKS. Rude, selfish, self-serving. RUN. Anywhere else.
I love this apartment especially the screened patio where I sit out every night. It has a great walking trail thru the complex and lot of friendly people. It located close to everything you need.
This complex was ok at first, but issues started happening with the maintenance. I experienced quite a few pest problems (roaches, ants, etc). I was trying to resolve the issues by notifying them and they were supposed to put me down for pest control to come by and exterminate the building (they only come once a month by the way). Everything would have been ok but they never showed up out of the 3 times that they were scheduled to come to the apartment. Plus later on there were no places to park because newer tenants had many cars over (meanwhile you are only allowed 2 per apartment). They never did anything about that either. If they know that this is an issue, they need to have assigned parking to avoid the hassle. Will never renew my lease again.
Apartments are in a great conditions. Shopping centers are close to the neighbor. Parks and recreational are near. Easy access to hwy311 and business 85. My family enjoys the stay at Chatham wood apt. Theirs a play ground and a swimming pool which are son love to go and play.
I have lived here over a year and I should have went with my first mind, to move after the first year, but was promised that the situation would be taken care of and of course it has not. I going to have to break my lease because I am not getting any sleep and I feel like I am at my breaking point now.
I wouldn't live here. Bank owned, no maintenance performed, paint peeling, etc
My husband and I have lived in this complex for a little over a year and we have no complaints. There have been a couple of maintenance issues, but it is an old property and it has been anything too significant. We love our apartment. It is the perfect size for us...very cozy, and the firplace is so amazing in the colder months. Great apartment for the price. PS we lived in the front of the complex near the Front Office and it was a great spot.
