Chelsea By the Bay

Sadly this place went from being excellent to just okay. Within the last year or so there have been three different property managers and the property has suffered because of it. New managment took over in April/May 2023 and things seemed okay initially but I've noticed more so than ever before the property manager is constantly out on break when you try to go to the office, left early for the day so the office is thus closed or just out. Another issue is that for a complex of this size there is only one trash bin and only one recycle bin. It's never been a major issue before but I've noticed over the past several months the company that picks up the trash is missing days so everything is piled up, not to mention many people are leaving items by the trash that should not be there such as mattresses, tv's, bed frames, etc and it just sits there for days or even weeks before it is eventually removed.

Rent here if you'd like surprise charges added onto your rent casually without you being informed at all about it until you confront them first, to which they respond with treating you like you are clueless about procedures that were supposed to be completed on community management's side. The leasing office staff seem to always be "on break" and when I do get to speak with someone, it's always a different person who's telling me a different story or redirecting me to someone who is not even the property manager of this community. Maintenance has been wonderful in my ~2 years of being a resident here and always repaired things in a timely manner, but the leasing office is a mess. When you reach out, no one answers and I have a paper trail to prove that easily. My partner and I have already been approved for a higher quality community in a safer area, so I'm glad to say we'll be working on moving out soon. It really is a shame because the move in process was smooth and we really loved living here once upon a time. Not sure where Michael went, but when he left this community started going downhill too and management in the leasing office was always changing after that. I'm also not sure what happened to the fence by the leasing office but it's been about a month that's been there. Come check it out when considering this place as your next place to live.

This is the most highly rated apartment complex for a reason. I love living here. It's not and friendly, staff is great.

I havent been here very long, but overall the neighborhood is quiet & everyone has been nice and welcoming.

I've lived here a little over a year now and I love it! Quiet community and management is always friendly.

Very quiet and peaceful. Best schools in the area and very convenient distance to the college, freeways, and supermarket.

I lived here 3 years and Kim always treated me as a friend and not a tenant. It’s a nice quiet complex , but occasionally had people parking on property to hang out or smoking marijuana, but Kim was always on top of reports and acted immediately on all items . Maintenance was questionable due to not having enough staff on hand , but eventually would get taken care of . If I had a choice and Kim was still there , I would move there again .

I've lived here going on 6 years and absolutely enjoy the quiet neighborhood. I haven't had any breaking into cars or other criminal activity happen on my watch. Maintenance guy does an excellent job prioritizing what's an emergency vs not and always got things done in a timely manner.

I love it here. The staff is amazing, the community is not invasive at all, it looks presentable, and everything is near by! Chelsea by the Bay is my first experience in the state of Washington. It's been 8 months and to this day, I have nothing bad to say about it.

Been here about 9 years - Retired 5 years ago & could live where I like. I strongly prefer to stay here - it's location & facilities are top notch.

I have only been here for a few months, but so far everything has been amazing. Really good community, nicely located, and amazing staff!

We have lived at Chelsea by the Bay for 3 years and have enjoyed living here very much. Kim the previous manager was great and Mike our new manager is wonderful also. He is always cheerful, kind and very helpful. I always have felt safe here and it is peaceful except for airplane noise which I have gotten use to hearing and even like. There is always plenty of parking and is very convenient. I highly recommend living here.

It's been almost 4 months and I love living here! I'm in a studio and want to graduate to a one bedroom at some point, definitely going to remain in this complex unless I move for work!

I lived at Chelsea by the bay from December 2017 to October 2018. It is the perfect place to live if you want peace and quiet. Hardly anything bad happens here. Any crime related issues that did happen were due to the tenant's negligence and irresponsibility. It is conveniently located next to the bus stop and I would take 156 to go to the airport. It's also very close to the docks and my brother and I would often drive or bus down there and walk along the pier. I've had close to no issues living at Chelsea. The only issue we've had was the door lock needing to be replaced, but Mike the maintenance guy was super responsive and always fixed issues fast. Kim the property manager is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. She is friendly and reasonable. 5/5 would live here again.

I moved in with my now ex girlfriend 1 year ago. Every thing went well while we were there Kimberly the manager was awesome but on moveout I expected a small portion of my deposit back so to cleaning fees. After moveout I sent an email and called about last water Bill got no reply then on the 15th I got a Collection notice in the mail. I am a good person I did not trash the place and I am being charged 200 $ again I always pay rent on time I always keep my apartments clean. If I were not a 50hr a week worker I would take them to court. Again Kimberly the manager is great but screw con am avoid at all costs

Nice, quiet place tucked in the trees next to High line College and a short distance to the water. New carpet and wood laminate, washer and dryer, dish washer. Kind of small one bedroom but very convenient location.
