Property Ratings at Chelsea Court Apartments
We moved in here 3 years ago after being promised many things. No sooner did we sign a contract the promises were not valid, we were down right lied to. The manager at the time was full of deceit. It was advertised that the unit came with a dishwasher, instead of it being replaced, they wanted to remove the dishwasher leaving just a hole. The air conditioning was non functioning, inside got to 90 degrees, we got told that air conditioning is not a necessity. We still have a leak in our roof, the buildings are full of rot, siding on these slums are full of rot, much trim has long ago rotted away. They don’t care here, they refuse to spend any money in repairs. It shows the owners do not care. In three years we’re going on 4 managers. They don’t stay, one manager quit because she didn’t want associated with the owers and how they are letting this property run down. It won’t be long till this property is deemed uninhabitable by the city. ITS A SHAME THAT ANYONE WOULD LET THIER PROPERTY JUST WASTE AWAY ! Oh, there is no emergency maintenance here. The number they gave is not a working number. Everyone thinks it’s a joke. It’s been 6 months and gutters are not fixed. Some were never finished. FIX YOUR LEAKY ROOFS ! They allow welfare residents from next door building to roam the property begging for money along with kids running around into everything, at night it’s heavy rap coming from cars and indoors while the drug dealing goes on, run from this property. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THIS PROPERTY !
I've lived here for many years and I have no complaints. The manager is extremely friendly and the maintenance men are great to deal with. I have wonderful, quiet neighbors. It is like its own little neighborhood where everyone looks out for each other. The rent is great as well! The location is perfect for getting to any stores, restaurants or catching the transit. The worst I can say is the train can be a bit loud at times but that's no fault of the complex. This is why there is always a waiting list and very seldom a vacancy. I would highly recommend it.
I rented at Chelsea court and moved out about a year ago. So glad I can give my review of this property. It used to be a nice quiet place to live with friendly neighbors. I lived in the so called 2 bedroom apartment they had. Things sure have changed there. It got to the point of us being afraid to walk and live where we were, we were in the middle are of the complex. They have security lights, but what good are they when they don't fix them. Drug dealing going on, along with loud stereos playing both inside and in cars parked outside. The nice neighbors have just about all disappeared, the remaining ones do not even care to speak or be nice to you. Maintenance is really an issue here, they can't seem to keep a maintenance guy here for any time. I contacted the resident manager to have someone see why my air conditioner didn't work, took a week just to have them say they would order me a new unit, another 2 weeks to get it in, then they didn't even have the power cord to the unit. Looks like a motel through the wall unit that blows air to two room through a bookshelf like thing to disguise what is really there. Siding on the sides of buildings are rotten and need replaced badly. I would not recommend Chelsea Court to anyone I know. This property is dumpy, along with rude and obnoxious neighbors, can't sleep at night due to people playing darn stereo too loud, and partiers. We sure are glad we moved out of this dump and found a place where we feel welcome and maintenance is same day.
The apartment that my husband and I are currently in is okay but we truly desire to move into a newer model apartment by the end of the year. We have a 2 year old son, had a stillbirth in April of our second son, and are now trying again so we are expecting our newest addition in March of 2016. We live near secret drug dealing and we would love to move as soon as possible and not have to bring our new born and keep our 2 year old around this environment. This would truly be a help. We've already found a place that just came available October 9, but we don't have the finances to move and provide a down payment.
