Property Ratings at Chester Plaza
The side of the building I live on keeps having electrical problems. Last year all the hallways lost power over several weeks, now half the stair lights are out and the dryers have also been out for over a week. The cold water in my apartment also keeps shutting off after a few seconds and they haven't replied about dealing with then issue.
Been here a year, half the dryers don't dry despite complaints from tenants about it. For the last week the hallway lights on an entire side of the building aren't working so tenants have to go out of their apartments with a flashlight to get to the stairs. These people don't have any concern over whether their tenants trip and die.
Don't waste your money here. Upkeep is extremely poor, things are always broken. Most of the time the washers and dryers are out of order. There are mice and cockroaches. Apartments have a keypad entry with a manual lock as well, but you dont get a key to your own apartment and maintenance does not have a key either. So if your keypad battery dies, maintenance has to break into your apartment with a crow bar. You arent allowed more than one key fob for entry into the building, even if you live with a partner. The dumpsters are disgusting and unkept, there is no recycling. Maintenance can enter your apartment with absolutely no warning. Totally unprofessional. Overall not a great place for the money.
The dumpster situation at this building has been out of control for 2 years; even prior to COVID. There are only two dumpsters and they are filled and overflow almost every day. The management does not appear to be responsive to this. The gate to the trash enclosure is constantly broken, which adds to the problem as trash easily spills out. I'm a neighbor who was tried to call all the posted phone numbers; and I can't get through to anyone to report these issues.
I'd just like to give Renee a shout out for sending rude emails to tenants while upholding the rumors that you cannot get an email response from them no matter how hard you try. The reviews are true- literally do not expect a response. Do expect to get fined for putting a small amazon box in the dumpster and not breaking it down though. We don't have recycling, only 2 large dumpsters, that people throw away couches and desks in. And they're finna fine us. For a compostable. Box. You can also expect things to break in your apartment and never get fixed, get your packages stolen by random people on the street, and have the absolutely foul laundry machine eat all of your quarters. Get me out of here.
Shows the apartment’s lack of integrity. I wish I would have known more about the place. But I highly recommend not living here. Management is lazy and it is unsafe
