Maintenance requests are frequently closed without resolution, with emails often going unanswered and phone calls proving frustrating. Issues like water leaks and non-functioning air conditioners are common, and the gate has been broken for the past month. Access cards for gates often malfunction, leading to frequent tailgating. The swimming pools are consistently dirty and easily accessible to outsiders. Pest control measures are ineffective, and the car care facility is often closed or under repair. In addition, common areas are poorly maintained, and overall, the management's response to these issues is lacking. Despite the community's potential, it is significantly marred by inadequate maintenance and extremely unprofessional staff.

Recently had a repair request and the office with support from the maintenance group decided to update an appliance which was a surprise and a great way to minimize future issues. Very grateful. Long term resident. It's not brand new however they make it a nice.

Horrible response times from the front office. They never responded to me in a variety of situations including scheduling an exit inspection. Currently I am more than 6 weeks past my move out date and I have still not received my security deposit even though the office sent me a letter stating that I will be receiving my deposit. Every time I call to discuss this the receptionist tells me the manager will call me back, but they never do!

DO NOT CHOOSE CHESWYCK. Was supposed to move in the other day. NEVER did renovations, and the place was dirty. Property manager was clueless. (No wonder she’s only been there for a month). Turn over rate obviously is high. Not safe either. Dark and eerie. TERRIBLE.

We we've been dealing with a roach infestation for years. The complex has an exterminator that's available every Tuesday. The spray is supposed to be to deter roaches for 3 months, saw roaches the very next day. Then we started to see roaches coming out of the electrical sockets.

From dawn to dusk all I hear is the slamming of doors and the 300 children that live on this property that scream to the top of their lungs running through the parking lot that they use as their own personal playground. My neighbor's children and their friends favorite past time is to slam their front door as often as possible and to INTENTIONALLY STOMP UP AND DOWN EACH AND EVERY STEP ON THE STAIRCASE WITH ALL OF THE FORCE THAT GOD AND GRAVITY WILL ALLOW AT LEAST 10-15 TIMES A DAY (this is not an exaggeration, management is aware and has done ZERO to stop this and just offer their sympathies). The only time you have any peace during the day is when it's raining or it's freezing outside. Parking in front of or near your unit has become a gamble these days due to the number of "guests" aka people living on the property who aren't on the lease. Between the "guests" and the children, watching them all leave an apartment at the same time is like being at the circus and watching a clown car unload and you wonder how they are fitting so many bodies into one space. The apartment itself is average with outdated appliances and fixtures. They've thrown money into updating the gym which is pretty nice and converted one of the unused tennis courts on the back of the property into a playground that the aforementioned children don't bother using. They provide storage space right next to each apartment unit which comes in handy since the closets seem a bit tight. Management and Maintenance have good response times to emails and requests. The most hilarious "upgrade" to the property were the four speed bumps located three feet apart from each other in an effort to slow people down who are exiting and entering the main gate instead of addressing the issue of the children running wild and the never-ending foot traffic of the housewives who gather and walk around in packs like geese giving you dirty looks while blocking the road and parking spaces. P.S. - Good luck with ordering any food delivery service for dinner and it making it to your front door without the delivery person calling you at least three times because GPS takes them to the 2nd gate which is only accessible with a resident key card, then finding the the main gate and keypad (why is it under a tree?) and then finding your apartment since the signage is only visible during daylight hours.

The location and safety :the location seems good but as soon as we moved in we had to deal with the crazy traffic on Lancaster HwyGun shots are regularly heard .The Gates ,frequently, not closed at night . As soon as we moved in ,like the first few minutes of our stay,we noticed allot of roaches in the kitchen and bathrooms.Infested !!! We contacted the office and they they apologized and promised to schedule a pest contrôle spray for the apartment .We refused to stay in that apartment and went to a hotel.After back and forward calls/emails ,they accept to move us to another apartment .We noticed mold on the ceiling and the windows and they didn't accept to fix it . We moved out.I cant let my two kids, 7 and 4 years old, live and breath mold .

If you hate to stay on weekend at home in cheswyck apartments, then definitely I recommend to take apartment in this. If you want to stay at home during weekend, then definitely I DO NOT recommend this apartments especially during summer. The lawn maintainace and grass cutting on weekend will make you go crazy on weekends, be aware when you want to rent here.

. This was used to be good society.. but no more it is place to stay now. I will suggest to stay away from this place. Whatever you do and complain to office they never work. Recently in one week few teenager folks came to society two times in night and they fired gun shots in open. Office is silent on all these and they are not working on any preventive measures. These guys are coming to society since last 3-4 months... earlier they were doing car drifting and all within society. Stay away from here and stay safe. Back to back gunshots in a week , Gates are always open and no safety. No action from management even multiple complaints from residents. Poor maintenance. Irresponsible staffs & management. Not good place to stay anymore
stay away and stay safe. This community has become pathetic from safety standpoint. Most of the times the gates are not working. It is supposed to be a gated community. But most gates (there are 3) are almost always open. There are no camera even at the entrance. Some teenagers come and drift the vehicles, vandalize in the property and leasing office/maintenance is not doing anything about it. In last 2 weeks 2 gunshot incidents. Management is trying to suppress this issue and busy in increasing the rent. . No co-operation from leasing office.
I am living here for the past 4 months, as i was new to city and without knowing much about this community, I signed for 1 year lease. This community is very unsafe, In last few weeks heard gunshots on every weekend inside community. This has been reported to leasing office management and police but despite all complains these bad things are happening on regular basis. There are no surveillance cameras installed or proper lighting done, all entrance gates are not working and open all the time. Leasing management does not care about anything, they are less bothered about resident security and safety. There are more problems here like car breaking/stealing, car drifting/speeding. Maintenance is a serious problem here. Maintenance crew is rude. Maintenance does the bare minimum to "fix" problems. Overpriced and poor quality. I don't have option to opt less than one star.
The worst place to ever live, bug infested with dirty indoor air handler, my daughter developed asthma our 3rd month living there, they completely ignored to do anything about it until I had code enforcement come out and verify the inside unity was filthy and they had never followed a request to change my air filter, there was a maintenance check done which was a BIG JOKE to find out my air handler in my apartment was never the proper fit which means the air was not properly being filtered, dust buildup on a daily basis on air handler door inside the apartment, Nasty Nasty staff, maintenance and when you complain they will say of roaches and bugs are not a problem u til you get the proper authority involved. DO NOT MOVE HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT. I promise.
The staff @ Cheswyck @ Ballantyne is very unfriendly and very keen on their own jobs. Do not understand residents feelings.. I've been resident for quite some time and felt harassment few times by staff (especially new staff including Manager (lady)). Do NOT recommend if you are looking for safe and peaceful stay.

In the recent times there were multiple theft complain. Mostly due to poor security and any one can come in n go out because itz not gated. The leasing office doesn't take any serious steps on complains about strange people who are not from the apartment.
initially you might find this as cheaper option to live in Ballantyne... but stay away ...apartments are bad, not clean have lot of bugs and not well maintained. Carpet, refrigerator and stove and bathroomwares of your apt will be very old and flimsy. And in the end when you leave apartment, leasing office will charge you undue charges ... very pathetic staff. I even went ahead with Department of Justice for the dispute about undue charges. During you tenure, service requests will never complete in one visit. They took 5 visits and almost a month to stop running toilet in my apartment.
Good stay place at slightly cheaper cost. Lease flexibility for monthly, 3 months, 6 months and so on. Good amenities including 3 tennis courts, 2 kid swimming pools, 2 gyms. Nearby to all grocery shops and 485.
Convenience to all stores,church and medical facilities. Safety is upmost of importance. Repairs made on a timely fashion.
Cheswyck at ballantyne is an okay apartment to live in. Sometimes have issues but all in all it's okay
When my husband and I moved in earlier this year we dealt with back-to-back issues for about our first two months there. They threw away the belongings in our garage thinking it was vacant. They double leased our garage so we almost towed someone's car because they were told it was their garage. We had to make several requests for minor move in repairs. And we had to walk them through the repair process when our upstairs neighbors flooded our foyer. Once we contacted them numerous times and asked to speak to management things seemed to have been handled a bit better. Since all that has settled things have been relatively quiet. We love the layout of our apartment but feel as though the quality isn't up to standard for the amount they ask (we don't have a renovated unit). We've decided not to renew our lease in the hopes of finding a smaller community that may be more responsive and on top of things without being pestered to handle it. We came from a Class B property in East Charlotte and were disappointed to see that the hike in rent and location of Ballantyne didn't increase service or quality.
