Property Ratings at Chilton Village Apartments
The first time I went into this apartment the sink was really nasty, I also experience roaches inside the place really disgusting your better off with your money elsewhere, unfortunately I have to wait until my lease is over. And the leasing agents there are unprofessional.
This place is awful. There was flooding in several apartments due to the rain. My DISABLED brother's apartment was flooded. They refused to have the carpet extractors come to his apartment, even though they came to every other flooded apartment in his quad, essentially keeping a disabled man bed-bound for days. He had to live with the doors open so it would eventually dry out. Now the place smells moldy. And let's talk about bugs. Last year the complex was inundated with German cockroaches (the little ones) and he had to have them exterminated several times. Now the place has a different little mite, or bed bug - which they blame him for, but he's housebound and doesn't go anywhere but church twice a week. The complex is nasty, dank, and ill-taken care of. They won't fix anything and have started charging a lot of fees. Parking fees, insurance fees, and several others. Be ready to add a couple of hundred dollars in fees to whatever they tell you rent is. Personally, I wouldn't let a dog stay here that I liked. Thankfully we are moving him to a better place next month.
I filled out an application and submitted my application fee and I put down a deposit on an apartment. I had to wait until the next time that I got paid to submit an application for my son, who is 20, because I couldn't afford to do it beforehand. When I filled out the application for my son, it showed that the apartment that I had applied for and put a deposit on was still available, so I submitted my son's application on March 16th. We HAVE to be out of our current apartment complex by March 31st. But the people here at Chilton Village apparently rented our apartment to someone else and are offering to let us move in either on April 24th or they would prefer that we move in on May 1st. We are NOT moving there!!!!! There is NO EXCUSE for them to rent our apartment out to someone else!!!!! I don't have enough money or time to apply for another apartment. So, I'm just praying that we won't be homeless until I can find us another place to live. We will NOT be moving to this place after they've waited so long to let us know that we can't move in there when we need to. I found out today, March 22, 2023 and we have to be out of our apartment complex by March 31st, 2023. They refused to hold the apartment for me with my application and the deposit because I couldn't submit my son's application. After paying them the application fee and the deposit, I didn't have enough money until I got my paycheck on March 16th. I had to go to the food bank to get food for me and my son because I wasted money on an apartment that they have given to someone else. So NO, I do NOT recommend this apartment complex to anyone!!!!! They will probably cause you problems like they've caused us. Again, I have NO IDEA what we're going to do so that we don't end up homeless and lose all of our furniture to our current apartment complex. These people are jerks and they have made our life extremely difficult right now!!!!!!
This is the place to come if you want a nice apartment, at a low rate, that is the perfect distance from Texas Tech for young professionals and families. The location is quiet and located with direct access to Lubbock's Loop (Loop 289) and it's not far from Lubbock Christian University. The apartments are a fair size with the basic amenities that we all look for, but not all of the extras that seem to make most Lubbock apartments so expensive. There is a nice pool that is cleaned daily and lounge chairs perfect for laying out. The apartments are also pet friendly (with only a pet deposit, no pet rent)! When there is a problem (i.e., refrigerator breaking, AC out, etc.) the maintenance team is very prompt in addressing the problem. All in all, a great place to live!
