Surrounded by mountains, large parks, and nature reserves, Gilman offers residents a mix of a rural mountain town with nearby city conveniences. Combined with Lake Sammamish a few miles north, outdoor hobbies like hiking, kayaking, and camping are extremely popular in Gilman. Excellent schools, preschools, and neighborhood parks create a family-friendly feel in Gilman. Gilman borders Olde Town, Issaquah’s charming downtown district. Although residents adore being close to the heart of the city’s abundant amenities, Gilman has several eclectic eateries, coffee houses, and shops. Several shopping plazas also neighbor Gilman. Interstate 90 cuts through the neighborhood acting as the main artery between Gilman and the greater Seattle area. Although many residents commute into Seattle and Bellevue for work, Gilman is also convenient to offices for several major companies including Costco and Microsoft.

Property Ratings at Chopaka Apartments
Our family lived at Chopoka for three years, and although we only gave it four stars, there are five star elements to this community. It may be a little older, but it is taken care of and it is managed well. Anytime we had an issue arise (which was rare) it was addressed immediately. The staff was always pleasant and personable. We had to leave due to moving out of state, otherwise we would have stayed. It is in a great area, which we walked often. A gem for sure. We would recommend Chopoka to those looking in this area.
My wife and I lived here for 3 years. We left because we were leaving the state entirely. Management is very responsive and they always fixed things within 2 days of us putting in a request. My wife loved the kitchen and how open it was. It gives great value for square footage in the area. The only problem we had was while moving out there was an issue with our security deposit but Piia was able to work with us on that and we left very happy. If I was still in WA we'd definitely still be here.
I was looking for a quiet and peaceful place to live and was more than pleased with my choice when I moved here. Looking out my front window to the private green belt/park is beyond amazing. The staff is incredibly responsive to all my requests. And they are very pet friendly. Can't ask for more.
After moving away to the East Coast for several years I knew if possible that I wanted to live in Chopaka. The property manager Heather is always available to answer any questions and deals with any problems very promptly. The maintenance team is phenomenal, friendly, and very competent. I needed my microwave fixed and it was done the same day. I also love the location because of its proximity to downtown, bus access, and freeway access. It is also comfortable to have a police and fire station close by (I am never bothered by sirens). I love the clubhouse which has a great pool to relax in during the summer. I feel what I am paying is worth what I am getting especially with my own parking spot. Lastly I love that their pet policy is fair and reasonable. It's a peaceful property and I highly recommend it.
If you want excellent management accompanied by beautiful grounds and well maintained apartments then Chopaka Apartments is the place to find quiet forested living. I just signed my third lease here. I have neighbors who have been here ten years. All around me other tenants and their families have been here at least a year or more longer than I have. The management is right on target taking care of your needs. Professional and friendly. The price too is inviting. It is hard to find a quiet safe cozy warm rental that you feel is home. I moved here from LA and found my apartment on line. It was better than I imagined. All I can advise is to check out Chopaka Apartments.
Nice place to call home. Older apartments that are kept up pretty well. They are pet friendly, within walking distance to everything downtown, and still "reasonably" priced for Issaquah.
