Sarasota enjoys a reputation as one of Florida’s premier communities, and it’s easy to see why: not content to be just another beach town on the sugar-white sands of the Gulf Coast, Sarasota boasts gorgeous architecture, cosmopolitan dining and nightlife, and one of the most vibrant art scenes in the Southeast. Galleries and stages are everywhere, giving residents direct access to a stunning variety of visual art, music, theater, and much more.
The downtown district also features exotic cafes and attractive storefronts along its tree-lined streets, making it easy to grab a bite to eat and walk to the nearest venue for the evening’s entertainment. The nightlife offers innumerable options as well, running the gamut from ultra-casual to ultra-classy.

Property Ratings at Cimarron Lake Apartments
Have lived here for several years. The maintenance staff is very responsive to work orders. They get the job done timely and correctly and are very friendly and respectful.
Overall I would not recommend this place. STAFF: For the most part the staff is good: Jessica is great. They leave passive aggressive notes on your door for anyone to read. Most communities send notice via email or text; not a note mounted on your front door for everyone to see when you haven’t been home. They offer an online bill pay system. Some of the maintenance staff are nice and helpful - others can’t be bothered. COMMUNITY: This community has roaches and rats. Exterminator never sprayed inside space. People do not leash their dogs - I love dogs so it doesn’t bother me but if you are not a fan of dogs or if you have a dog I would look elsewhere. Fairly quiet area except when planes fly by (nearby airport) or when the muscle cars drive by Late at night. Most neighbors are friendly. Homeless people have been spotted at night walking through the community. I have seen several rats at night. This place was nicknamed CimaRAT lakes. This could easily be prevented if landscaping was consistent and they didn’t leave furniture, old appliances, garbage/ tree debris sitting around for weeks. The back of the complex looks like a junk yard. Lake has large fish and turtles but some months the lake looks more like a swamp. Some buildings are kept nice while others are not. Walls could use soundproofing. PRICE: Every year they offer less and charge more. Annual price increases are steep. This used to be run well and could be a great community. Overpriced for the value. MAINTENANCE: As many of the reviews already mentioned the workmanship isn’t great. Old buildings leak and have more issues. Cheap quality Low end materials. Landscaping and exterminator services not consistent. Washer and dryer rental the same as most communities but not maintained. They need to hire a professional to reseal bathtubs and caulk - awful job. As many other people have mentioned. OVERALL: Overall not awful but not worth the price to deal with a subpar mismanaged development.
Property Manager at Cimarron Lake Apartments, Responded To This Review
Please take the time to slowly ride through the Cimarron Lake community during the day and at night. This will debunk most of the allegations alluded to in this review. Then visit the leasing office to get a more in-depth analysis. Guaranteed, you will be pleasantly surprised.
I've been a resident for 3 years. I have heard horror stories from other apartments in my area. My current place is wonderful. Maintenance and the office staff live in the apartments so its kept clean and orderly. Its privately owned therefore things get taken care of. If something breaks they have immediate attention and repair the issue. We've had a few things that required attention. My only thing and maybe its everywhere but I'm a very good resident, don't cause trouble, pay rent on time.. but each year my rent jumps. You would think they wouldn't want turnover if all is well..
