Situated in western Oklahoma, Elk City contains rich historical roots dating back to the late 1800s. Elk City honors its past at the dynamic Elk City Museum Complex, which contains the Old Town Museum, Farm and Ranch Museum, and the Blacksmith Museum. Elk City’s many old-fashioned buildings also contribute to the city’s historic charm.
Located about halfway between the East and West coasts of the United States, Elk City sits in a central locale where historic Route 66 and I-40 converge. Residents delight in many suburban conveniences along the major roadways, in addition to vast expanses of open space that lend the community a rural atmosphere. Elk City exudes a peaceful vibe, providing residents with a tranquil place to call home. Recreational destinations are within minutes of Elk City as well, including Foss State Park and Black Kettle National Grassland.

This place is a joke! Moved in mid March I had to wait a month to get a working oven, kitchen drawer, doorknob for our bedroom door, lock on our storage, and still waiting to get closets fixed. We were told the pool would be open this summer. First we were told it would open May 30th but it did not. Then they send out a letter saying it will open June 1st, it is now June 20th and the pool is still not open. Kids have been out of school for a month and it probably won’t be open before they go back. I would rather they tell us the truth that the pool is not going to be open this summer rather than keep saying “it will be open next week.” They need to get rid of their whole maintenance team and get some people who will actually get things done. Also there is only 3 working washers for the entire complex. I’ve never lived somewhere so bad. I would not recommend Remington Station to anybody. Also there is a huge eye sore of 3 to 4 cars that have never moved sitting right out front. They have trucks, trailers, and bikes taking up 5 parking spots and the owner comes out and sits in front of them while blasting music loud enough for the whole apartment to hear. This is the first thing anybody sees when driving into the apartments and it’s sad. Yet they worry about people not picking up after their dogs. As soon as my lease is up I am out of here! Stay clear of this place. They manage 3 properties here in Elk City. Stay clear of them
I love this place... I've been here for about 5 years and am very comfortable. So many great changes have been made and when times got tough for me, they were understanding. Maintenance is quick to respond when I have any emergencies after hours, and they don't have answering service, you get to speak with a staff member. I'd recommend to live with any of the properties that Wingate Management has.
PROS: Nice staff. Fast response to maintenance issues. Clean pool area and landscaping well kept. CONS: The walls are very thin, I could hear my neighbors footsteps, conversations, TV, and music perfectly. The air conditioners are old and loud! I had to sleep with ear plugs in. The cabinetry is old and I would find roaches in them all the time. I would open a cabinet to grab a dish and a ROACH would be on it. Even though they sprayed for bugs, the roaches were still everywhere. The maintenance guy did respond on the first day of having a broken part in my apartment, but he left the broken parts there and used my toilet, forgetting to flush and put the seat back down. I was wrongfully charged for a cleaning fee (which was not included in my lease). Prior to moving out I cleaned the apartment and disinfected the entire thing (scrubbed tub and toilet, vacuumed, mopped, etc). I called on the day I left to make sure they received my keys and that the apartment was in good condition. The man I spoke with said it was good and I WOULD RECEIVE MY FULL DEPOSIT. Well when I got the check 6 weeks later, I had been charged a $40 cleaning fee. The woman I spoke to couldn't even tell me exactly what the charge was for. She just said it was probably for disinfection.
