Property Ratings at Citadel at Lookout
Lived here july2023-august2024 and the management is awful. Shutting down the pool, never repairing clusters of potholes in the parking lot, turning limited parking spaces into no parking areas, no amount of complaints will get through to them in an effort to improve where it really matters. They'll sure show you around the nice parts before renting though and try to help you look away from the bad, "bear with them" they'll say as they overcharge right up to move out day where you can say goodbye to your deposit, you won't be getting it back even if you make your apartment look better than when you moved out and they'll even have the audacity to charge for "repairs" in a vaguely worded bill with no verification pictures. Being able to afford to live here means putting up with paying for a gated community with no sense of security, amenities that are scarcely available, hostile neighbors that management does nothing about, being on the maintenance wait-list for lightbulbs or curtain repairs for 3-4 months, and setting aside money for small claims court with them for when you move out. But hey, they'll send you an annoying email about food trucks that aren't very good parking at the gate every Friday.
I have lived here for going on 3 years now and I love it here. I am a disabled combat vet with limited mobility. The property is very easy to get around, kept manicured and beautiful year round. They have a great resort style pool with cabana and a big screen. They have a fenced in dog park with grooming area for your pups to play. they’ve also got a great barbecue area with fire pit gather around with your friends. The most important thing to Just about all of us is the staff. From the first day, I walked in up until today they have been great. If you have an issue with your place, Sam and Justin are very good at getting to you quick. Very professional and proficient. Great Guys!!! I would like to bring special attention to Deja Leasing specialist and property staff. She is very friendly and proactive daily on keeping the residence in the loop of all community activities and is very quick to address any issues you might have. Karl is Our Community Manager. He is instrumental in keeping the amazing community to its highest standards. Professional, friendly, and will bend over backwards to take care of his residence. The staff is great!! With all of the options out there, they really check all of the boxes and take great care of us Veterans.
I’m a manager myself for years so I know poor management when I see it! Lack of professionalism from staff and over all bad attitude.
-Can never answer the phone, have to call multiple phone numbers that call to the same office. 90% of the time, no one answers the phone. -In office, I have seen them just let the phone ring. Truly impossible to get ahold of even through email. -Unprofessional behavior from Amanda, does not know how to handle situations with tenants. I tried to speak with her and she just sat in the chair, stared at her cell phone, and swivled in her chair while disregarding any concerns I had. -Bug problem inside the units. -It has been months and I still have yet to obtain a refund that I was promised. -Will not disclose accounting office phone number so I can get a refund. -Avoid if possible, you will not get your money back. If you sign, review lease thoroughly, you'll be held responsible for Bug problems that already existed Within* the unit. -Charges for all amenities, whether you use specific ones or not. (Money grab).
Good luck trying to get in touch with the property. I’ve gotten the run around for the past 2 months, no returned phone calls, or no one answers but took my application fee with no problem.
I have emailed these people twice inquiring about an apartment. Both times I received an auto-reply stating that someone from the office would contact me soon. It's been two weeks, and I've never heard from anyone. If this is how they treat people they're trying to "woo" into spending thousands of dollars at their complex, how do they treat you once you're locked into a contract? No thanks. I don't need to find out. I'll spend my money elsewhere.
