Yes, it's called Capitol Hill -- but it isn't the capitol and there's no capitol building. So how did this Seattle neighborhood get its name? Back around 1900, a real estate developer renamed the burgeoning community from "Broadway Hill" to "Capitol Hill" because he wanted the capitol to be moved from Olympia to Seattle. That never happened, and the quirky neighborhood kept its new quirky name. Capitol Hill is the neighborhood for those who love nightlife. As Seattle's premier place to party, Capitol Hill is home to coffee houses, taverns, bars, nightclubs, and theaters.
Home to artists and musicians, Capitol Hill features a variety of festivals and events throughout the year, and it is home to the Capitol Hill Arts District. College students also find their way to the Hill, which is home to Seattle Central College and is just south of the University of Washington.

Hi, we are so happy to read such a great review about The Citizen! Thank you again for taking the time to let us know how we did. We always strive to provide top quality service to every guest, and are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your experience here at The Citizen!
Citizen Apartments is in an incredible location—everything you could possibly want is within a few minutes walk, from Trader Joes & QFC, to bars & breweries, restaurants, shops, and green spaces. Despite being so central, there's never any issue with noise, safety, or loitering. The staff is super friendly and helpful, they've been great at answering my questions and helping me get settled in when I first moved in.

Lived at this apartment for almost a year and had a good experience. All the people working there are awesome, Savannah and Rick really went above and beyond. The apartments are on the smaller size but you won’t be disappointed cause there is plenty to do around the area.

Wow, we're glad you had such a wonderful experience with us! Savannah and Rick are an amazing team! We hope to be of service to you again in the future. Best wishes, The Citizen
Management is incompetent to the point of negligence. Fire alarms go off for no reason. Packages end up missing or trapped in the office for obscure reasons w/ no notifications. Basic maintenance is neglected e.g. wd-40 applied front door so it doesn't make a horrific metal screeching sound every time it is opened. Cleanliness of grounds has diminished w/ removal of trash cans in key areas. i.e. trash regularly in elevators that are sticky w/ spilled liquids. It isn't very secure property as folks from outside can just follow people in. The staff is rude and disrespectful i.e. almost as though I work for them instead of the other way around. Past management was much much better

Hello, We’re sorry you’ve had a less than perfect experience. The Citizen is now managed by Thrive Communities and we hope we’re able to turn your experience into a positive one and would love to hear more about how we can help make improvements. We look forward to speaking with you soon.
This building is directly in the heart of Capitol Hill Seattle. Less than a block to the Elysian brewery, and directly next to Pike and Pine streets which are the center of social life. For those working at Microsoft, it is only a few blocks from the nearby connector stops for an easy commute and security deposit is waived. Being located on Madison St, it is a bit noisy being located very close to the hospital, the fire department and the police station, but very secure. The underground parking is also a nice touch along with large storage units available.
