Property Ratings at City Green Apartments
Getting set up to life here was a breeze. Amy is a fantastic landlord and I am thankful that I found this place. Location is fantastic and the building is very dog friendly
This is such a nice community and neighborhood to live in. Walking distance to grocery stores, Summerfest grounds, Fiserv Forum, restaurants, and theatres. The Management Team are so nice, professional, and extremely attentive to the tenants and building needs. They are always looking for ways to improve the living experience here at City Green.
The apartments are so spacious and warm, I love how often I see the community spaces being cleaned, and the staff is always so friendly and accommodating.
City Green is a great place to live. The location is perfect and there is so much to do around that area of the city. The staff is super kind and helpful and the Property Manger Amy is one of the nicest people you will ever meet.

Thanks for the 5-star review! City Green is a really special community and we're so glad you agree! Amy and Mariano are very dedicated to all the residents there, so thank you for sharing the feedback!
City Green offers the best value in downtown living. The property is located on a quiet street in walking distance to all downtown locations as well as the Lake, the Third Ward, and festivals. There are many floor plans to choose from and the management is top notch. We have lived here almost 6 years and have not seen another property that offers the value of City Green. Plus, our furry friends are welcome.

Thank you for being a valued resident of City Green! We are so lucky to have such awesome residents here. Everyone cares for our community and everyone is so friendly and helpful. It makes my job that much more fun and fulfilling! I hope you are here for a very long time!! Best, Amy France Property Manager
I've been living at City Green Apartments for about a month now and have had a very positive experience so far. The facilities are very nice and well-kept. The neighborhood area is very safe as well. Very happy so far.
We've been living here for ~2 weeks and it's been such a pleasant experience so far! Move in was a bit complicated with some last minute changes, but as long as you communicate with Amy in advance, all is well. Our unit is really clean, modern, spacious, and quiet, which we love. Safe neighborhood as well. Enjoying it here so far!
I am absolutely thrilled with my experience at this apartment community! From the moment I moved in, I knew I had made the right choice. Amy is wonderful at making you feel right at home. Speaking of the apartment itself, I couldn't be happier. It's spacious, quiet, the appliances are up-to-date, and the layout maximizes both comfort and functionality. Maintenance requests are handled promptly and efficiently. It's clear that Santino and Amy value the well-being and satisfaction of their residents. I've never had any issues that weren't addressed swiftly and professionally. This apartment community has exceeded my expectations in every way. It truly feels like a home, and I'm grateful to be a part of such a wonderful community. If you're looking for a five-star living experience, look no further – this place has it all!
I recently moved to City Green and I am loving it! Amy and Santino are helpful and welcoming and my apartment rocks! Great area to walk my dog, the property is clean and well-maintained. Its definitely a big step up from my last apartment and I can see me living here for a long time. Truly a wonderful place to live.
I honestly don’t know what the negative review is referring to with break-Ins and such, I have never experienced that while living here. I have also only had good experiences with the management, Amy always answers my emails promptly whenever I ask a question. The noise between units has never been an issue and is a quiet building. The trash is also kept far away from any doors or windows to the building so have never experienced any smell from it. Overall I am very happy living here and don’t plan to leave anytime soon.

Thank you so much for the kind words! We're delighted to hear that you enjoy calling City Green home. We certainly enjoy having you as a resident. If you need anything at all, we're here for you!
I would not recommend living at City Green. Property management is rude and unfriendly; at times, unresponsive. The building has had issues with break-ins. Trash is placed right outside the front doors and often reeks from the dumpsters, especially during summer. Not the most dog friendly as the entrances are narrow with low ceilings. Most redeeming quality is decent sound isolation between units. Seems like other residents have been having issues with sound , though. We recently received another unprofessional email from management. Overall, this place is very unprofessional in just about everything they do.

Hello! First and foremost, thank you for your honest feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience with us was a less than stellar one. We certainly strive for excellence at City Green, but sadly seem to have fallen short of your expectations. We would love to further discuss your experience and areas where we can improve. Please give us a call at your earliest convenience.
We so enjoy living at City Green Apartments. Please disregard old negative reviews, Amy and her team have been managing City Green since before we moved here in August, 2021. This team has exceeded our expectations and we are confident they will continue to do so. Issues are dealt with on a very timely and at times pro-active basis. City Green is located on a quiet street in the Yankee Hill area of the East side of Milwaukee. Walking distance to the lakefront trails, Summerfest, Discovery World, museums, downtown theatre district, Third Ward, and Fiserv forum. An abundance of great restaurants and bars also within walking distance. Grocery store, Metro Market, is less than a block away.
As apartment dwellers for 30+ years, City Green is one of the best communities we've lived in (for almost 5 years now). The "About City Green Apartments" description on this site is accurate. The neighborhood offers so much, so near (we've been doing just fine without a car so we can't speak to parking), while the CG property and apartment itself are spaciously relaxing and quiet. Neighbors (from students to families to retirees) are friendly and dog owners are respectful. Our maintenance issues throughout the years have been resolved timely and successfully (the technicians have been knowledgeable and friendly). Likewise, the janitorial staff keeps the building clean and sanitized (and, yes, they are friendly, too!). The online resident portal makes maintenance requests and rent payment super easy. The current property manager is the 4th we've had during our residence, and she gets 5 stars. She truly loves to serve us, as evidenced by her attentive communication with residents (and prompt follow-up with issues), sprucing up of the common areas, organizing events (eg, plant sale, food truck, wine tasting), and designing a much-needed receiving area for packages. The only "negatives" are the fitness rooms (small rooms with older equipment, though freshly painted) and not-so-soundproof floors (only an issue if residents in unit above are very active). The value here is well worth consideration in deciding on an apartment.

The team is blown away by this review! We are so happy that you enjoy your home and the community, just as much as we enjoy having you as a resident. If you need anything at all, we're here for you!
Told we would get an apartment before we applied then told it was taken after we paid, but ended up getting a different apartment in the building. The day we were supposed to move in we were given the wrong keys and were told to just move in anyway and leave it unlocked since they couldnt get the correct keys until after the weekend. The apartment wasnt cleaned or repair when we moved in. Maintenance has to enter the apartment every few weeks to repair things. The garage has been broken multiple times and parking transponder has had to be replaced. The fire alarm has gone off multiple times without an emergency. The elevator is repeatedly broken so expect to be stuck in there for a while. Expect condescending responses from management that dont address the issues.
Great location, spacious apartments with good appliances on one hand and complete lack of responsibility and organization from management on the other, and that is when they are actually in the office between their numerous breaks...
We've lived in a City Green 1 bedroom for 3 years with our Frenchie. We're really going to miss the awesome location, downtown views, and underground heated parking. The appliances are in great shape, and it is so convenient to have laundry appliances in the apartment. The management and maintenance staff have been very friendly, courteous, and responsive. We highly recommend this apartment to our friends, and to you.
1. The management is unprofessional. The assistant manager is basically paid to look for infractions and charge you for every single tiny thing you do that is outside the leasing code (which by the way is extremely extensive). She will not talk to you or the tenants to your face and have issues out, instead, you will get passive-aggressive emails that remind you of the many fees they try to charge you (didn’t move things out of your maintenance closet? Didn’t fully break down a box?) A small infraction for you is an opportunity for them to charge a fee. When I called to complain to the main office about an egregious charge, the head manager used scare tactics to try to get me to back off. 2. The things they charge you for are insane. If you moved out and disconnected your gas, and don’t want to re-connect it but are willing to pay them your balance, that’s $15. Didn’t break down a box all the way and they figured out who you are? $50. New dog under 6 months? $300. The list goes on. 3. They tell you they are dog friendly. They are – because this is a chance for them to collect all the fees. The building does not really have a dedicated dog relief area (there’s a crappy, unmaintained alley in the back, which is a pain to get to). However, they don’t want your dog peeing on their precious grass, and charge you $50 every time they catch you. And they try to catch you – the assistant manager literally sits and watches out of the window all day for a chance to deliver a passive aggressive letter and policy and put it under your door. They basically just want you to take your dog and have it pee on their neighbor’s lawn – another mark of luxury, passing the problem to the neighbors. There’s a monthly dog fee ($25) per month, per animal, $300 for a puppy under 6 months, regardless of circumstance. Finally, the building has no respect for how long you have lived there, if you have been a good, caring tenant, or not, they will not work with you in any way. Make the mistake of telling them you’re moving out early, and they will find 10 more things to charge you for or take out of your security deposit. I couldn’t wait to get out of there and have never experienced a more unprofessional staff in my time of leasing from a so-called luxury building. There is a reason their vacancy rates have gone up – this is not the building it used to be, and you should take your rent money elsewhere.
I've been living at City Green for just over a year and just re-signed my lease. I couldn't be happier with the neighborhood and how close my frequent destinations are (Metro Market, Jazz in the Park, Cathedral square bar scene). Yes it may be a little on the higher end but you absolutely get what you pay for. Stainless steal appliances, beautiful marble countertops, and amazing city views. The management is beyond fantastic. If you need anything they are more than willing to help even if it's not during the posted 9-6 office hours or wouldn't fall under a typical office job duties. I was new to the area and they were more than happy to tell me where to go and what to do while also putting up a monthly flyer of the local happenings in the area/city. I high recommend this property to anyone and have actually convinced 3 friends to move into the building.
I lived at City Green for 3 years while I worked downtown. The location is fantastic and it was usually a quiet place to come home to. I really loved the apartment and style, despite being a bit more expensive than other locations. All appliances were stainless steel and worked well. I would have given the apartment a 5 star rating if it were not for a few management members. Most of them are friendly and very helpful; however, one of them made it very difficult to live at City Green and was a common complaint amongst my co-workers who also lived there. The individual frequently took a condescending approach to tenants and if asked to do anything beyond typical responsibilities (i.e. deliver a package to your door since you could not make it to the office hours), the individual would make you feel like a burden. Furthermore, he/she would repeatedly ask tenants on LinkedIn to recommend his/her performance. Overall, the experience was great, but could be that much better without one bad apple ruining the bunch.
I don't spend my time using building amenities, which is fine b/c the property was pretty sparse on them. A couple fitness rooms, a party room and a courtyard are all they had. Retail space on the street also had yet to be filled. However, the apartments are amazing (that's where I spent all of my time anyway) and the location is THE BEST (grocery store just on other side of the block!). High-end finishes, a sweet city view, and a responsive resident manager if I needed any maintenance or a favor. I recommend this to all my friends still living in Milwaukee (who don't need a pool).
