Property Ratings at City Heights at Dutchtown
Thanks Christy and Taylor for your help with my lease! The staff is always pleasant and they provide a good community environment for the residents!
Have lived here for years and since a new company took over, this complex has gone down tremendously. They are constantly raising prices and adding fees. The only thing they updated was the pool area and I'm sure that's to lure more renters in. The apartments or appliances haven't been updated at all. There's always some type of bug issue. The new workers in the office are a hit and miss. They can become pretty forgetful with important things but they sure do may sure they text you everyday about rent. I miss Alexis. She was always on top of everything, had great plans for community engagement, and overall made this a wonderful place to live. Cannot wait to move out.
I lived here for 3 years and ever since new management took over it was terrible living here. Front office used to always answer the phone at the drop of a dime now they never answer any phone calls even if you call back to back and no matter what time it is. Also the apartment is out dated and they keep increasing rent when it is not worth what they are asking for. Also the appliances are out dated and always have a problem. They also have bug problems as well. Pest control only sprays one to two spray in the living room and that’s it. They also had a mice problem and didn’t do anything about it. Don’t let the nice looking pictures fool you.
This used to truly be a great complex that was well-maintained and reasonable prices. We have lived here for many years, and since the new ownership it has been horrible. They have increased our rent for an outdated one bedroom apartment multiple times. Most of the apartment is outdated and appliances are not the best. There is always kids running around, throwing rocks from playground at windows or ringing doorbell’s. Some people let their animals roam loose in the complex. Trash is always over flowing. Bugs and spiders everywhere. The property is not kept up with very well for the amount they are charging to live here. I would truly recommend going to a newer complex in the area. We plan on moving out soon. Overall for what they charge it is just truly not worth it. Don’t let the pictures or front office fool you. This is coming from someone who has lived here for many years.
Moved in you could tell apartment had been flooded at one time management did nothing about it had to move could not take the odor only lived there 4 months too expensive for how old the complex is
have lived here for quite a while and since the new ownership, there has been nothing but increased prices! every few months they add a new fee for things that are supposed to be included in rent! very outdated apartments for today’s prices!!!!!!!!!!
This is a great propriety to live at. I lived here for over two years at two different apartments. While I lived alone, I had an excellent experience. There was no problem with the apartment complex. It had all of the amenities I needed and plenty of space. They were a regularly respectful group of individuals. It was a great experience and I really enjoyed the apartment complex and the professional relationships established. The quality of the apartment is as shown in the photos. It is somewhat distant from downtown Baton Rouge, so if you are looking for a centralized location, I wouldn't recommend it for that.
I moved in in February of 2015. The gated, grounds are beautiful and clean. There's an amazing pool, workout room and office space for residents to use computers and printers. Free WiFi at the pool, too. Maintenence is amazing and arrive with in minutes. My apartment is huge, and beautiful. They have 6 months, 9 months or 12 month leases. I feel safe. I love my home.
I haven't move in just yet, talking with the staff they are polite and anwser all my questions. The over all place seems safe with the gated community and the alarm systems. I believe I will enjoy my stay at Lakeside Oaks.
I've been living at Lakeside Oaks for over 5 years and wanted to share with everyone why I think this is a great place to live.....I have met so many great people and have made lasting friendships, the neighbors are always friendly and respectful, and the staff is always smiling and helps out any way they can. They stay on top of things that may need attention, and has never let me down! They are not just here for a paycheck, they are here because they love what they do! I have two daughters and they have also made friends. Very family oriented establishment with all the ementities you need....the pool and lake are my two most favorite. Thanks staff at Lakeside oaks for making this my home!!!!
My boyfriend lived here for over a year and a half in the last four months (His year lease went to a month-to-month tenancy because he was hoping to purchase a home ) an during the next four months his rent increased almost $400, in $100 increments. Additionally once he had inform them of his intention to leave, the began alleging all sorts of additional fees and charges. Upon his leaving last month, they attempted to charge him $600 for alleged damage to carpet. Thankfully he took photographs and documented the walk-through very well, so he protected himself legally, but this place is out to make as much money off of its tenants as possible and that is their only objective. If you read any of their additional the reviews on other sires, you will see countless stories that will attest to this same issue. My boyfriend had his rent directly drafted from his account at Chase and the on site manager repeatedly attempted to charge him late fees saying she "never received said payments", and my boyfriend was then forced to get documentation from Chase proving payment was paid and received. In a year and a half the situation occurred multiple times and cause my boyfriends account to overdraft on one occasion. He remained patient throughout all the mistakes and errors, and they remain unapologetic. The water bill is also run directly through the on-site management and my boyfriend and receive his first 2 to 3 months at a time, even though this was not his fault they on-site management assessed him a late fee each and every month even though it was their error . After six months of this repeatedly occurring my boyfriend was finally able to get in touch with the water company directly and enroll in the auto draft so that no further issues were made by the on-site staff and cost him any more money . Upon him informing them via email that he would be moving out in 30 days, they additionally trumped up new issue after issue to try and add costs to his move out. My boyfriend had the apartment professionally cleaned at the time of his moved out and thankfully took those pictures so it's well-documented what pristine condition he left the apartment in. The on site manager Alexia tried to charge him an additional $800 for various creative incidentals - mind you this was in addition to the $450 security deposit that he paid upon move in and in addition to ANOTHER NON REFUNDABLE $600 pet deposit that he paid because my dog visited the apartment periodically. The management on site at this place is absolutely the most heartless, rude ethically wrong ON TOP of being totally incompetent staff of people I've ever come across in my professional or personal life - and I am now currently making a point to contact the owner of the property, and alert him to these issues. It's such a shame, the apartment itself has really nice amenities - but dealing with all the mistakes and mistreatment by the staff just completely makes your home a place where you feel abused and constantly taken advantage of - and it just makes it a terrible place to call home. BEWARE YOU WILL REGRET MOVING HERE AND LEAVE WITH YOUR POCKETS EMPTY, THEYLL MAKE SURE OF IT.
This apartment community is such an awesome place. It's very neat and safe especially for a family with children. The staff is so very nice and were very helpful to me. I pray for them and the community. Stay blessed!
