As one of the major economic centers of Alabama and one of the signature cities of the Southeast, Birmingham has done an impressive job of adapting to the new demands of the 21st century. The city that once built a reputation as the “Pittsburgh of the South” thanks to a robust steel manufacturing industry is now a hip community attracting entrepreneurs, artists, and innovative personalities. Birmingham remains one of the most active business hubs in the region, with headquarters for everything from banks to biotech firms operating in the city.
The dining, nightlife, and entertainment scenes have all grown rapidly in recent years, and just about everyone in town has an opinion about where to find the best brewery. Gorgeously preserved historic buildings and a pervasive attitude of down-home hospitality have kept Birmingham’s famous southern charm intact as well, creating a unique environment where the best elements of the traditional and the modern complement each other.

Property Ratings at Hoover Village
Thought that new management would be a good thing, but they changed everything and won’t answer calls or emails about any of it. Then seem annoyed when you walk in to speak in person. They can’t answer emails but can send three about taco Tuesday
You should not rent apartments here, all are old and damaged. it's just covered with a new coat of paint
As I tried extensively to tour or get more information about the apartments as soon as I walked in every time I was turned away although seeing that they updated how many apartments they had daily. I wasted days amount of time being told to come back another day. Don’t even waste time trying to go in
First of all, The lease is endless, they hold you responsible for every thing. There is lead paint peeling off every where, and they use lead pipes for your water, you have to sign off acknowledging you where made aware of the lead paint & pipes. They are not up front about how much it really cost for an apartment here, there are all these monthly charges added onto your monthly rent. So you pay a monthly amount for the apartment, plus they automatically add on cable & Wifi, which is Direct TV, but they don't go through Direct TV, they use another company that charges more $$$ for the same services that Direct TV offers for less. They add on Sewer, trash, tax, admin fee, water, & pest control. In which you still have bugs, roaches. The grounds are dirty, trash / litter is dumped or left here and there. I'm counting down the months until my lease is up, to get out of here.
Destini is a wonderful manager she makes sure she helps at anyway she can .
The price is good for the area! Centrally located to everything! The staff is friendly and sufficient.
The new staff in the office are awesome. So attentive and happy to help. They take care of any issues we have without a hassle. Definitely made the right choice choosing this community!
Destini showed us around and was absolutely wonderful!! She was incredibly helpful and answered every question that I had. She took the time to explain everything that I need to know about the location. She was extremely knowledgeable, down to earth, made apartment shopping so much easier and was the highlight of our day. I truly can't express how positive of an experience that we've had.
I have gone through several management changes but Destiny has been doing a wonderful job. She is friendly and professional and I finally have someone I can go to that will get stuff done and get problems fixed. Glad that she is here! This property needed someone like her.
I been living here for over 3 years. It was not so great the first 2 years. But ever since the new property managers came, it been great pleasure living here. A manger name Destini makes me fill like family. Every time I have a problem they fixed it the same day.
Management does the bare minimum all the time. The area and model apartment give you a feeling of a B property when they run it like a D property. Apartments are not ready upon move in. When something is wrong they ignore you and then the final repair is done in very poor taste. No professionalism. They will do anything to get you moved in then, they treat you like dirt once the lease is signed. There’s plenty of decent, reputable companies to rent from. This is not one!!
No problems! City Heights Hoover has ha had changed management AGAIN but it is better !
Do not live here! Ever since the new owners took over this apartment complex everything has gone down hill. First, there is zero communication from the office management when the water gets shut office for maintenance purposes, or if the power is being turned off for “repairs” on the roof top. They also did mandatory “upgrading” to change every apartments toilets, sink faucets in the kitchen and the bathrooms. They replaced them with the cheapest appliances on the market and they used cheap/unskilled contractors to do the job, and that’s when the real Chaos began. Apartments were flooded and we’re still experiencing water leaking problems from the apartments above and underneath the sinks. The major leaks were fixed, but the walls are severely damaged and stained. Lord knows what’s growing in between the walls now. Second, they changed pest control companies and we’ve noticed a big difference in the number and type of critters that have showing up. I debated about whether to write a review, but after finding out about todays incident and how unprofessionally it’s being handled I’ve had enough! I noticed that the internet and cable connections went out around 12pm today. Didn’t think much of it since this seriously happens frequently now. After I got back home 5 hours later they were still both out. I contacted the cable and internet contractors and the lady I spoke with said the management told her if anyone calls and complains to direct them to the main office to speak with management. So I asked the lady what is the issue on their end, she said it’s a power issue on the managements end, not the contractors. The office is closed now. I’m livid that I had to do my own investigation to find out what the heck happened. ZERO communication from the apartment management. Now I have been informed that we have to wait until Monday for the issue to get fixed since today is Friday. I don’t blame, maintenance or the management entirely, I blame the owners!
The apartments are nice and management is easy to talk to if you have a problem. Amber is very cooperative and great at her job. Maintainence is very timely on repairs and it is a very quiet property for the most part considering its right off a busy street.

Soooo today makes 2 months living here. My daughter and I are in love with our cozy comfy apartment. Its quiet and NO PARKING PROBLEMS! Teresa was very informative and helped me set up Alabama power and insurance. My only issue is not being able to pay online but she said they are in the process of having that set up.

Living here for more than 2 years, so feel like I am eligible to give all a good perspective of this place. If you value money and peace of mind don't consider this. I am done!!! Can't bear this anymore. Will be leaving next month in search of peace. Paint fakes off in less than a month-long don't get fooled by shiny new surfaces it's all just top layer coating. Personally saw how its done, when I switched from one apartment unit to the other. It literally took them less than a day to use some coating to look everything new. The new wash basin and bath tub are not new, just small epoxy layer which will be gone in less than a month with one wash. Paint flakes off from bath tub. Forms rough surface, attracting more dirt after that. Cupboard and wood work is pathetic. Doors will not close, paint dried on edges will form sharp edges. Electrical outlets is whole another story. If u try to plug anything in them, be ready to put of fire. Wiring is very bad. Get ready to have zoo in home with all weird bugs which come from wall joints, corners, AC cabinet has no seal from actual ground. Any service request will go in heard for days and you will have to improvise and get use to new way of living. Don't be fooled by those pest control labels left in homes, they don't do anything when they come. The only thing management care about is your money. They will make sure you pay it in time for worst service. I have seen at least 3 management changes in last 2 years. Whenever there is new management Gheh promise to be better, but don't believe in nonsense. It's just re-branding and marketing. There is no value to word or life of tenants. Fitness center is no-go zone. No safety or precautionary measures... Suggested to have good video camera survelliance in strategic spots but never saw that implemented.

They will try to remove this but I’ll tell you the truth. Run away! Bugs, mold, water leaks, people abuse your cars bc there’s no parking, stupid pool is closed and has been for like a month (We got to use it for one day. One.) I’d rather live in a hotel you pay for weekly than keep staying here at this point. Every issue falls on deaf ears. They just want your money.

We are saddened to see that you've been left with a negative impression of our community . We encourage you to reach out to our office directly so that we may resolve any currently outstanding issues with our NEW management company !
I used to live in these apartments a long time ago with my family and was kind of skeptical about going to view their apartments after what my family experienced about 7 years ago, but it said "new management" so I gave it a shot. Fist thing I noticed was how clean it was compared to when I used to live there. When I walked into the office the first thing that really changed my mind about considering this place again was the warm and inviting welcome from Marissa at the front desk. I did not have an appointment and she dropped everything she was doing to help me. She asked me questions about my preference on an apartment that I had never even thought about like upstairs or downstairs, back of the property or front, etc. She really made me feel like I was in good hands and could expect to get the perfect apartment for me. Amber offered me water and a snack, and although I turned it down the first time when the other girl offered it to me I took the offer and grabbed myself a water. I just could not believe how the property had changed since my absence management wise and property. I am definitely keeping Alpine Village at the top of my list. Thank you for my wonderful experience.

My apartment is a classic unit that does not have all the fancy upgrades of a renovated unit but I love it. I had to decorate and add life to my apartment and I have not had any major problems since moving in august of 2013.
