Property Ratings at City North
Not only do I absolutely love my apartment, but the staff could not be any better! Leslie is my favorite, she responds to my emails almost immediately, resolve any issues I informed them about in an extremely timely manner and they are always smiling from ear to ear. The maintenance crew (David and Tim) are also unbelievable, I've never had to wait more than 24 hours after submitting a request. I would highly recommend This place to anyone looking to have a luxurious home with an incredibly helpful staff ??

We have lived here for 2 years and in those two years our A/C went out 4 times. Four! Not to mention constant trash in the hall, one of our cars got wrongfully towed, packages constantly stolen. We've been through 2 ownerships and neither is good! Can't wait to leave this place! Hopefully it gets demolished soon!

This apartment complex is just GREAT! The new appliances and upgrades are so nice! The whole staff is amazing and super helpful. Tim, the maintenance guy, is so kind and FAST. Along with the in-office staff is also very kind and patient. Within my first two weeks I had a few things that needed fixing and I saw result ASAP which is amazing compared to my past experiences. I greatly appreciate their patience and communication when it come to resolving issues. The community is respectful and quiet. It’s a calm area and all policies are enforced which is plus because it keeps everyone in check. So, no messes, no destroyed property, and no rowdy community! Definitely recommend 10/10!!

I am in-between 1 and 2 stars. I definitely won't be renewing my lease. The pool and the gym have been nice amenities that I enjoy using. However, the equipment in the gym is often out of service. The valet trash is often missed for days at a time. There is trash everywhere and no one picks up after their dogs. When I first moved in, I was cleaning up bugs every morning, but it eventually stopped after a couple months. Recently, the complex was power washing the halls and stairs, causing large amounts of water to seep under my walls and flood my kitchen floor and closet. I came home to find the carpet in my closet, clothes and other things that were on my closet floor SOAKED and have been for days. This was an okay first apartment, and the front office staff is fairly nice, but I'm ready to go.

If i could give this apartment complex a -0 stars i would. This has been the worst place i have ever lived. stay away if you care about safety or cleanliness. my partners vehicle was STOLEN from this property because the gate never works and easy to come to the property bc all the side doors are open. as well as towed multiple times even when i had a sticker. my apartment was broken into as well as my vehicle. the first red flag was when i received the apartment for the first day of move in the shower was covered in mold and grout. maintenance did nothing and closed the matter. as well as had a bug problem and my apartment had been sprayed for it, and they just keep coming back even though i cleaned every single day. the hallways REAK of MARIJUANA and TRASH. disgusting place. leasing office is okay, but not receptive, and good luck getting an answer when you call or email. i leave this review for the apartment complex of city north so that maybe they can fix these issues before someone else suffers what we have endured. if i were you please consider other options. this is not a safe place to call home.

When my wife and I toured the apartment we loved the example unit they showed and signed quickly. We should have looked into it more and actually walked around the complex. Our unit was great but the complex itself is terribly maintained. There are lights out everywhere, trash in the halls and stairwells, doors broken, and dog poop everywhere. The gates to get into the parking lot are often broken and aside from their valet trash the only place to take trash is in a far corner of a parking lot, though that doesn't keep people from leaving full bags in the halls or stairs, which then sits there for up to weeks at a time. To top it all off many people have reported having packages stolen from their doors and a neighbor had their apartment broken into in the middle of the day on a weekend. Management has done next to nothing about most of these issues. They did install package lockers, though most deliveries don't use them, but the complex continues to go downhill. In response to the break in they told us basically, "sorry, it happens." My wife and I broke the lease as we could not sleep and didn't feel safe there anymore.

I stopped by after a few weeks of noticing the property to get information about pricing and availability, and I was welcomed by a nice young lady in the front named Leslie. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. I toured the property and it was very clean. She advised me that they were new management and have been making changes to the property. I am very excited to be a resident here!!!

Thank you for the great review! We are delighted to hear that you have been met with such great support from our team. Let us know if there is anything we can do to make your already positive living experience even better!
Honestly, I've lived in seven different apartment complexes and this one takes the cake in being the absolute worst complex I've ever lived in. I don't even know where to begin but I'll start with the trash. Trash everywhere. Smeared trash goo all over the place. Zero effort to clean it up. My hallway went the whole time without ever being mopped. I've seen rat corpses there and have seen critters rummaging through people's trash. Now for the safety concerns. In my one year of living there I had one Amazon package stolen, and a Halloween decoration stolen. While I understand that the apartment cannot prevent crying little effort is done to prevent it. There are no security cameras on the hallways and many residents have taken it upon themselves to install doorbell cameras to deter theft. I had 2 neighbors warn me about the crime there within a month of moving in. I have seen homeless people sleeping in the stairwells only for management to just tell me to call the police. Half the time the entrance gates are broken letting anybody just drive in. Maintenance is always super behind schedule and prefers to do bandaids instead of fixes. My a/c kept running out of freon which means they need to fix a leak but instead they'd just keep filling it and having to come fill it back up. And idk why but the alarm systems seemed to be going off all the time for no reason, for up to 2 hours once. Last but not least. This place owes me $65 dollars from my deposit. I called and told them I haven't received anything and they said the property manager would call me back and yet never did.
Nice property with filthy tenants. I moved in about 4 months ago and the trash has been an ongoing problem for me. It is EVERYWHERE. Within the first week of living here people dumped trash in front of my door twice so they could avoid fines (that are never enforced by the way. The people here are just nasty and think it’s okay to dump trash anywhere instead of walking to a dumpster and of course management never does anything about it. My apartment is right by one of the dumpsters and it constantly has trash sitting outside of it because people are too lazy to walk 5 more feet and put them into the trash. It also stinks and flys and nats are terrible not to mention I have a nat problem in my apartment since the day I moved in most likely due to this trash problem. It is so loud, you WILL hear the people above you and in my case they are extremely loud. People at inconsiderate at all hours, they will blast music an let their kids run down the halls screaming. The gates never work, which is one reasons I close this apartment in the first place to feel safe, and I definitely do not feel like that around here. I am a night shift nurse and this place makes it almost impossible to get any sleep during the day. My Ac went out on Labor day and the office was closed so I called the emergency line at 8am and left a message 5 TIMES throughout the day with no response. Finally the guy shows up unannounced at 8pm after me waiting all day in my hot apartment, what is the point of having an emergency line if it’s not even going to be addressed in a timely manner? This is my first apartment here in Dallas since and I’m sad to say I am more than disappointed in my experience thus far.
The apartment had black mold and should have never been on the market. The property manager, corporate office, and maintenance were incompetent and failed to make timely repairs.
The unit and the location are the only good things about this complex. They are absolutely terrible! We had plumbing issues within the first few months of moving in an we’ve had the same issue 3 times since. The plumber told us the owner didn’t want to pay to fix it so they are basically putting a bandaid on the issue. They make you pay for a trash service that is complicated and you can get fined for it. Yup you heard that right we have to pay for a service that you might get fined for! Not to mention it caused rats and crows. I’ve never seen so many rats in my life and they were all caused by the trash system. There gates never work. The gate leading to the garage has been screeching for 3+ months I’ve complained numerous times and they won’t fix it. Brandy in the office was condescending and rude about the issue saying “it wasn’t that bad” and “no one else is complaining”. I’m the only one paying my rent so my issues should matter regardless. There are other small issues like dog poop, parking and lazy staff. I’ve lived at apartment complexes who didn’t consider themselves “luxury” that were better than this. Avoid at all costs! For the price you can find better!

We’re saddened to learn that your experience has not been a more accurate reflection of the positive living situation that we strive to offer. Our trash service is in place for the direct benefit of our residents and we believe you’ll find many of our community members consider this special amenity to be well worth the value, however, we are sorry you feel otherwise. There are certain days that the trash is picked up and more information can be provided to you regarding the valet trash. Our team works hard to keep all of our homes in excellent condition so we'd appreciate the opportunity to speak with you in greater detail about your concerns. When you have a minute, please give our office a call and we'd be happy to work with you.
It's a Nice property with a few nice added updates. Modern and comfortable , convenient location. Yes you hear a little traffic but your also in Dallas. Nice pet friendly complex with friendly tenants.

Good, I will only move when its time to buy. My experience has been great, location is perfect and I love my loft apartment.
5 days since moving in, everything was so smooth and nice. Front desk is so helpful and I just love the apartment. Also the apartment itself is clean upon arrival and met a couple of neighbors. All the amenity are new and the room is spacious, more so than I thought it would be.

Our team is thrilled to hear you love your City North home and that your move-in went smoothly! We love getting feedback from residents, and it's great to hear you're enjoying the amenities and our team's level of customer service. If you ever need anything or have additional feedback for us, feel free to reach out at any time. Thank you!
We have lived at City North for over 3 years and the staff is incredibly accommodating and welcoming. Everything is always clean and everyone is polite, the units are spacious and have great views in every direction. Wouldn't rent anywhere else!
I can't say enough great things about the City North- both the property and the management are fantastic- a rare combination. Before she was my wife, my girlfriend was looking for an affordable option in the city that met all of her preferences at a reasonable price. She found everything she was looking for at City North and I would have chosen the same for her. We like it so much that after we married, we moved into a larger apartment on the same property. The management staff worked with us through the whole process and were nothing short of wonderful. Those of you hunting for apartments in Dallas know that many options are overpriced and those that seem affordable usually fall between sketchy and downright dangerous. City North is truly a rare find- a convenient location in the city with quick access to all major highways, surrounded by PLENTY of things to do.

Congratulations on your wedding! We're so happy that you and your wife have chosen to stay in the City North community! It makes our day to hear you're enjoying your home, the amenities, and have experienced great service from our team. We always open to resident feedback, so if there's anything we can do to make your experience even better, we'd love to hear from you!
This is the first apartment I've ever rented and the staff has made it the best experience ever. It's so easy. They take all the worry off of your hands to make sure you're comfortable with everything. The complex is clean and ALWAYS quiet. There's always parking. The pool is clean. The gym is always nice and neat. The maintenance handles things quickly if and when there's a problem. Overall I plan on renewing my lease and upgrading because I like it here that much!!
I've been living here for over 10 years and its a great complex with lots of amenities. Current ownership and management keeps the place very well maintained. Would definitely recommend this community to any of my friends.

We can't thank you enough for sharing this wonderful feedback of our community and team - they mean a lot coming from a long-time resident! We look forward to having you in our community for years to come and we encourage you to reach out if there's anything we can do to make your experience even better. Thank you!
This community is really great, the apartment complex manager is always helpful and attentive to everyone's needs and resolves any issues quickly and effectively. The location is great along with the price.
Do yourself a favor and DO NOT move into one of their properties I live at City North Apts and the unprofessionalism that has been displayed here is unreal, Mary at the corporate office is a price of work, very rude and dismissive and don’t let me forget to mention the inept Manager and Assistant Manager over City North, I called Mary on a Monday she was aware of what was going on but waited until Wednesday to say anything. To me? Then she called me from a blocked number. Horrible experience and I’ve been living here since October 2018 and never had a problem before, no wonder you all have a 2.3 rating. Don’t let me forget to mention the violence police are here almost every other day. On top of that there are dead rats outside, the hallways are filthy with stains and trash. This place is disgusting and despicable, do yourself a favor and don’t come here. Don’t be fooled by the high ratings people are lyin as people go
This property is amazing my roommate and I toured the property and dude so can not wait to become a resident. Everything is great the clubhouse is super chill thanks to the front office people for all of your help.
I really want to thank the office staff for having crime watch meetings and securing the property you guys have really made my stay here once of the best experiences you guys have went above and beyond to meet my very expectation and I sincerely thank you for that
Toured many properties but City North is by far the nicest we’ve seen. After a week of looking we made our decision City North will be our new home!
It is a very quiet location and almost feel like a resort. This has one of the best pools I've seen at any community. Pros include: If one desired a park like setting they have found it here. Stainless steel appliances to complement the granite counter tops, and high-end plush carpeting in the bedrooms. Closet space is awesome.
Not only is this property amazing but the service I received from Brandi was unmatched. The property is well-kept and very well designed. The business center and lounge area is large enough for professional meetings and social meetings. I recommend this place to anyone moving to Dallas. You won't regret it !
I really enjoy living here. I attend SMU down the street from here. At first I was in student housing with some roommates. This place looks like a resort. So to save money, I decided to leave student housing, and get a loft. It is like a vacation here, so much amenities to use too. The nice ladies in resident services totally ROCK! I can always get free coffee there too, as I need lots of caffeine to help me study and complete all the projects I have for school. I love this place! I had to call courtesy patrol to get my loud neighbors to keep it down once. But most of my neighbors are pretty chill. Lots of my classmates live here too. Can't say enough about this place. I have only been here about 6 months, but it is awesome so far.
I've been living here at City North for a little over a month now and I have 0 complaints. Office staff are amazingly courteous and friendly, maintenance keeps the grounds looking good, and the parking is hassle free. Would recommend to anyone.
This was the only place willing to show to me an apartment while it was raining. Everyone else said it was policy not to show in the rain or they wanted to show me the apartment on the computer. City North showed me three apartments, the pool and the garden. They had umbrellas and had no problem leasing to me. This is what I was looking for.
I have resided at City North Apartments for the past two years. My first year here was pretty great for the most part. Management was disorganized and improvements were definitely needed. I have a 1 bedroom and it is huge. The kitchen is great and the closet is fantastic. About 4 months into my second year I noticed a vast decline in the quality of residents moving in. At first I thought I was just being paranoid and I shouldn't be so quick to judge others. However my initial thoughts were right on the mark. Much like a previous poster I too cannot wait to be moving out next month. The kind of residents that live here now are loud, rude, disrespectful, and flat out dirty! There is trash constantly littered around the property! People stand outside in the open parking lot at all hours of the night laughing and carrying on as if there were in the privacy of their apartment. I will say that I have not had a bad experience with any of the ladies in the office. They have always been attentive and polite. However, I do not think that they cannnot help improve the issues I have with living here now. This place has really lowered the standard because of the type of residents that have been moving in within the last year. The property is very centrally located but I don't think it is worth putting up with the type of neighbors you would be subjecting yourself to. I will not go as far to say that I no longer feel safe but as a single woman living here I have grown quite uncomfortable. My advise would be to take all of the information available into consideration before signing a lease here. By the way not that it should matter or affect the weight you give to this review but I thought it might help some, I am not white. I would be considered a minority.
This apartment complex used to be great, but ever since NorthStar Management aka Spectrum Realty Group took over (since October 2015), it's gone down hill. The maintenance workers look trashy, and the community manager and office staff smoke cigarettes in the resident courtyards for residents to see instead of in front of the leasing office where they won't be so visible to residents. And the latest scam by Spectrum Realty Group is a kicker! They have signed a business contract with Southwest Auto Tow where they are stealing people's cars from their reserved parking spots in which residents pay for every month. Spectrum Realty Group has Southwest Auto Tow coming into City North's parking garage late at night (after 12am) looking for cars specifically without these big ugly residential permit stickers. If you don't have a sticker on your car in your reserved spot that you pay for, they will tow your car and the resident will be stuck with the fees. FYI CITY NORTH RESIDENTS, THIS IS ILLEGAL AND YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO FILE FOR A TOW HEARING AND A STATUTORY VIOLATION LAWSUIT AGAINST THE TOW COMPANY AND CITY NORTH APARTMENTS. Read up on the Texas Occupations Code and file your lawsuits with JP 5-2 in Dallas County. Thank me later and I hope I have helped any other City North resident who has recently been a victim of this tow scam by City North and Spectrum Realty Group.
I'll just start off saying the apartments are VERY centrally location at the crossroads of 635 and 75 in North Dallas. This makes it really easy to get anywhere in the DFW metroplex. The apartments are amazing. Stainless appliances, side-by-side refrigerators (in some units), and a smooth top range. The floor plans are open and the community is very quiet. I've had very little interaction with the staff (which is a good thing, right?) but what few issues I have had were addressed quickly. The maintenance team is fast at addressing issues as well. There is also a security guard that makes the rounds each night checking the parking garage, parking lot, and walks the hallways. Again, this place is very quiet. It's surrounded by a neighborhood of single family homes so it feels more like a home than a apartment complex. This place is also near the head of the White Rock Creek Trail for those that like to run or bike. I highly recommend moving here ...you won't regret it.
I loved everything about this complex. The Manger had monthly meetings with a police officer & residents on local reports, there were get together's every month, and I've never had a break in. Price point, you really get what you pay for and you are paying for decent luxury. The only thing I did not like was the occasional spider, but I lived by the garden area so that was to be expected. Not a lot of people went in the back area and it was perfect for parties! I loved that I was in walking distance to the plaza and close to the college. Management was ALWAYS on top of things when I was there (Back in 2012-2013). The high ceilings made my apartment look bigger and the giant door felt like it gave me security. Overall, this is a great place to live.
This complex is nice as I have been living here for quite some time. The appliances are all stainless steel, granite, etc. The floor plans are quite roomy, and for the location, you really can't beat the price. Here are my issues: if you are on the first or second floor, you WILL hear your neighbors above you. The trash bins get full because the window to insert the trash is too small, sometimes pet owners let their dogs run loose, the pool can get pretty packed in the summer with lots of non-residents, the TVs on the gym machines seem to work when they want to, and it's too expensive to rent out the clubhouse if you want to have a party. Other than that, I have no major issues with this community!
I just relocated to Dallas and I received an amazing deal from Josh. I was stressed trying to find an apartment in 1 day and he blew me away with his sales technique and truly believing that City North was the best place to live in this area. Everyone is friendly in the office and they have lots of advice on what to do and where to go!
Great price for the amenities, great location, close to everything. Opened in 2009, this place is recommended in particular to young professionals who would enjoy a pool party as well as being easily accessible from both Dallas and the northern part of the metroplex. Good school district as well.
I have lived here for the past 6 months and have just re signed my lease. It's a great complex in a good location. Have not had any theft or break in issues from what I know. Rent is a bit on the high side but I have enjoyed my place so far.
When inquirying about CityNorth ask a lot of questions! When I moved in I did not get to see the apartment only the model. My leasing person did not tell me about the discounts you can get with the cable company because they have a contract with them. It could have saved me on my installation charges, also being on a certain part of the complex you can only get certain cable providers. I wanted DirectTv but had to settle for Time Warner :(. This complex does not have a lot going on like other complexes such as events like meeting neighbors, finally had a pool party but not enough room for all residents. The management is not good, anytime you have a concern they always give excuses. Apartments are small and you can get more for your money elsewhere. Residents can't control there dogs throughout the hallways, beware before step out your apartment. They charge for trash but it's always overflowing on the weekends and is a eye sore. The walls are very thin, I hear my neighbors screaming all the time, and if you live here request the 3 rd floor, so you won't have to deal with heavy feet....the people above me must wear concrete sandals. One more thing....let me not forget the A/C unit sounds like a wind tunnel. There excuse that's how they all sound.....yea right! If you must live here ask questions and visit the exact apartment you will reside in.
So, I moved in to City North 3yrs ago at the recommendation of a friend. We got an awesome unit by the pool. We got front row reserved parking. We got storage about 10ft from my front door. Wow! Everything here has been great. Then all my friends from church (across the street) started moving in! I think I made close to $1500 in referral bonuses over the years. Management is responsive and helpful. Maintenance is timely. Never had any issues that would cause me to complain! Most people complain on reviews, but I'll say to anyone looking for an apartment...."Check out City North!!" Rollin with my homies, C. Landry
