National publications constantly place Pittsburgh near the top of the list for most livable cities in America, and it’s easy to see why. The city has a rich history as an industrial and economic hub, which led to the construction of many grand buildings and public sculptures which still stand today. Downtown in particular is rich with beautifully preserved buildings and lush public parks dating back well over a century, giving the entire community a timeless atmosphere.
Pittsburgh is split into three sections by the rivers passing through the city: Downtown (a.k.a. “The Golden Triangle), the North Side, and the South Side. Each has its fair share of attractions and landmarks: the North Side is home to Acrisure Stadium and PNC Park (making it a perfect area for sports fans), the South Side features big, beautiful greenways and refurbished steel mills, and Downtown is where you’ll find the most variety in dining, nightlife, and entertainment.

Property Ratings at City View Apartments
This was the worst place I stayed in ever! check the reviews they are not lying! roaches roaming your walls. I tell the front desk they came and killed it but still did not sprayed down the apartment. Terrible staff will give you attitude for no reason. WALLS ARE SUPER THIN THEY ARE MADE OF PLASTURE. ANTS INFESTED WITH THERE BEST FRIEND MR ROACH. I rather pay double rent to live in a smaller place then this NEVER AGAIN!!
It’s funny how it says 4.5 out of 5 when there’s only one positive review. Pros: decent price for studios; large windows, spacious, hardwood floor options, gym Cons: literally everything else, you will have cockroaches even when you do everything in preventing them, you’ll have neighbors that smoke which drifts right into your apartment; you’ll have dogs barking at 11 pm because they aren’t properly trained; you’ll hear anytime your neighbor is “loud”, You’ll have washing machines that barely clean a thing; the staff can only help so much... I just want some peace and quiet.
DO NOT LIVE HERE. By far the worst place I have ever lived. Constant cockroach issues in the apartments (7x in 2 years), expensive/old laundry units that often don't work, elevators are often broken, low security with gates constantly open and lease containing a clause stating cameras and security on site are meaningless if something happens, hot water constantly goes off. Awful and unapproachable management who's only concern is to make as much money as possible from residents. Do yourself a favor and live somewhere else.
This is the absolute worst place I have ever lived. We have had constant roach problems since moving in over a year ago, and the exterminator is completely useless. They don’t do preventative treatments so the problem just gets worse with time. The maintenance workers are lazy and will do quick fixes that result in repeat problems rather than an actual long-term solution. The property manager does not know how to handle her employees, and everyone in the company is incompetent and dishonest. I would never ever recommend living here to anyone.
COCKROACHES, POOR SECURITY, BROKEN ELEVATORS. Place is total trash and misleading. Im pretty sure the company pays money to have postive reviews written about it on numerous sites because I have never met a single person that lives here who is happy with the place. Construction starts at 7 am IN THE BUILDING NOT OUTSIDEand can be heard throughout the entire building. Management is unapproachable. The hot water NEVER works. The heat is consistently down for maintenance, as are the very over priced washing machines. Security is almost non existent, they make it look like this is a very secure building, but any riff raff can (and do) enter the building whenever they want if they have any form of common sense. Packages from the front desk come up missing, and the apartment has a terrible ant and cockroach infestation. I have lived here for 4 years and live a very clean lifestyle, I have found 3 cockroaches in various locations throughout my apartment and have a horrible ant infestation I cant get rid of because they live in the walls!
DO NOT LIVE HERE. It is overpriced and management is uncooperative and lies!! Washing machines are very expensive and also do not work, expect to wait up to 20 mins for an elevator regardless of what floor you move in to. Management will razzle dazzle you whenever you're touring the apartment but BEWARE as soon as you sign that lease you sign away your right to privacy, security (the lease contains a clause stating that all cameras and security on site are there for show, City view accepts no responsibility for your safety. I have had people come to my apartment uninvited and unexpectedly and City view did nothing to stop it or handle it), trial by jury, and pretty much whole soul. Once the lease is sifgned Management's new catch phrase becomes "sorry I can't help you". Do not believe a word management says. They will tell you whatever they have to tell you to get you to sign the lease and then you are on your own from that point forward. I would not even recommend this place to my worse enemy.
I have lived in this complex almost two years now and I regret my decision to sign a lease for the second year. The management team here is terrible and never does anything to help. If you email anyone for help when one of the four very old elevators is broken, don't expect an answer. The elevators break constantly and there will pretty much always be one that isn't working. The air conditioning and heating is frustrating as well. They will shut the air and turn on the heat while it is still very hot outside. Buy a few fans especially if you have a pet because it will be 80 degrees in your apartment when this happens and they do not care. Do not be fooled by the pictures you see on their website and others because most of them are just common areas not the kitchen that will be in your apartment or anything. This building is old and needs a lot of work. The utilities are high and thats because residents pay for all the common areas so that the building management has to cover nothing. It is really not worth it to live here even if the rental price is a bit lower.
Living here has been a pretty huge disappointment. Wish I would have listened to some of the reviews. I haven’t left a bad review yet online for anything, but I wanted others to know what they could expect before they sign a lease here. The owners of the apartment are pretty frugal. Downstairs floors, with the exception of the lobby where potential lease signers are brought to, are kept at typically around 90 degrees in the summer often exceeding temperatures outside. In addition, elevators are incredibly slow. 3 of the 4 elevators have been broke for a couple of weeks now. Noone in upper management seems to care that there are typically lines of upwards of 20 people on a single floor waiting on average about 15 minutes for an elevator. If you have a question about your lease or unfair charges that were on your account, good luck getting an answer. I was actually charged for the previous tenants utilities for a time that I didn’t even live here. I came home one day to find a lawsuit posted to my door about overdue utilities when I had never even seen a bill. I went to the office to try to resolve it and their solution was to switch all utilities over to my name without warning me with charges that included the previous tenants utilities dating back to over 4 months before I lived here. I have attempted to contact the office about this matter 4 times, everytime I am assured someone will get back to me……they have not responded to any of my followups. It seems like a lot of the leasing and front desk people are nice and have good intentions, my guess is that upper management is a complete mess, and they are simply concerned only about money and cramming as many people into apartments as possible. I would not recommend these apartments until they fix these issues and start treating tenants as people instead of just numbers.
Have been stay here for years and finally moved out. It was a terrible place. The noise starts from 7am in the morning til 2pm midnight. In the early morning the jet hammer wake me up with startle. This is just the start of the nightmare. The Centre ave never stop having construction which mean you will got dust, noise and harassment. You can hear people talking loud just next to you bedroom like they were talking to you! And people here are a lot of students, walking, running at 2am above your head! Further more, the trash room is disgusting and the smell is full of the floor even your apartment. I got fly and other kinds of insect in my apartment. The laundry is stink and people never pick up their laundry from the washer/dryer on time. The securely is bad. The gate of the garage now is even disappeared for months. The lobby is even worse. There are a bunch of people hanging out at the lobby and have smelly food there. I never went down even though it looks nice. The service is even worse here, residents argued with the shuttle driver, some doormen is not friendly and lazy, and the office lady roll her eyes to you when you asking for repairing. I paid ridiculously high rent not for the awful service. And they will charge you penalty fee whatever reason they want. And you will never get you deposit back even though everything is in good condition.
Great location, on the border of the city. Within walking distance to work in the city, near entertainment downtown or on the Southside. Shopping and grocery store trips three days a week, and many other amenities, such as: pool, weight room, party room (with kitchen area, TV, pool table), tennis courts, cook out area, volley ball court plus a private shuttle bus that runs six days a week and mail service. The building also offers outdoor or indoor parking and a Zipcar on location. Convenient and nice place to live. Oh, and pets are welcome!
