About City View
The neighborhood of Rolling Mill Hill is a locally designated landmark. At the heart of it is the hospital buildings and trolley barns. The first hospital structure, a Victorian-style building, dating back to the 1894, has been converted for residential use, along with a 1930s art-deco style building. The trolley barns, which recently have been entered on the National Register of Historic Places, are being converted to office and commercial space. The historic smokestack, which is visible from several points downtown has been preserved and will continue to serve as a landmark and icon for the area.
City View is an apartment community located in Davidson County and the 37210 ZIP Code. This area is served by the Davidson County attendance zone.

Nashville’s Riverfront neighborhood is an up-and-coming sector of Downtown with premier proximity to everything that makes Nashville the Music City. Residents of the Riverfront can enjoy Riverfront Park, offering five acres of waterfront city park that houses boat docks, a lively amphitheater, and the perfect place for some outdoor recreation while enjoying scenic views with the river on one side and historic storefronts in Downtown Nashville on the other.
Along with scenic views of Cumberland River, the Riverfront neighborhood is adjacent to First Tennessee Park, known for its minor league baseball games and exciting events. And on the other side of the stadium you’ll find Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, which tells the story of Tennessee’s history through monuments, placards, and fountains.
Though commuting is easy with proximity to Interstates 40 and 24, along with the Music City Star Riverfront Transit Station, there is plenty to see in the heart of Nashville itself.

Property Ratings at City View
Security is a joke. Regular break-ins in vehicles, on the street, in the "secure" garages, and social spaces. People jump fences and use resident amenities. Even seen homeless people using the pool bathroom and showers and sleeping on the lounges. Management values appearances more than security. Management is shady, makes current residents agree to stay before you can see added fees and changes to lease. On surface they are pet friendly, but if you are a dog owner I would look elsewhere. Their pet park is small and disgusting. Trees were removed from the only shady grass area pets were allowed. They go out of their way to make no dog signs in public walking spaces and in front of building entrances/ doorways. There are far more places in the city with better dog facilities.
This apartment complex does not value their residents at all. Their payment portal has not functioned properly for well over a month and they do not accept personal checks, which means payment is accepted only with a cashier’s check. They would not accept a personal check or cash at the office. As a night shift employee, this is incredibly inconvenient. However, even after making the effort to stay up well past my shift and bring them a cashier’s check, their irresponsible staff lost it. I had to go through the process of getting another cashier’s check, which meant I had to waste more of my time and stay up again, and incur additional cost to replace their lost check. Through it all, they don’t even have the courtesy to plainly apologize for their negligence and mishandling of my funds. Additionally, they have made zero effort to fix their payment portal. I have asked to speak to their manager and even called the corporate office; they are all unresponsive. I have never worked with such an incompetent, inconsiderate, and service averse organization in my life.

CAPREIT, the new owner is a Canadian real estate investment trust company who is known for being unorganized and running poorly kept properties. I have lived here over 2 years and now that CAPREIT has taken over everything has been TERRIBLE.

City View, while not at all cheap, is well worth the expense. I moved to Nashville and was willing to spend a little more to experience living closer to downtown (both for work and because, I mean, who doesn't want to live in downtown Nashville?) Pros: - You can actually walk downtown. It's great. It is less than a mile from Broadway, around a mile to Bridgestone Arena, and stone's throw from LP Field (or Nissan Stadium or whatever they want to call themselves now). It is also next door to the famous Hermitage Cafe, Pinewood Social, and the near-completed amphitheater. - They are also about to complete the Greenway which is a paved walking way that lines the river. Great for running, dog walking, etc. This is right next to the complex. - The amenities are second to none. A great gym with just about any piece of equipment you would want, a great pool with a pretty insane view of downtown, a clubhouse with pool/shuffleboard, a patio with grills/tvs, and a terrace lounge. I could go on and on but you'd be hard-pressed to find a place that gives you more bang for your buck. - A great staff that is always on site and quick to respond. Cons: - Ain't cheap but that comes with the territory of living downtown (or right next to it), the amenities, and attentive staff. - Jimmy Johns won't flippin deliver here Ultimately it depends on what you want. I wanted a place where I felt a part of what makes downtown Nashville great, an easy (and I mean EASY commute to work), and some dandy amenities. City View has delivered that and more and that is why I just resigned my lease. You will not find a place with a more convenient location ($2 Uber to Broadway, $6-8 to Demonbreun/Midtown) that also provides a great living space.
I viewed several communities in the Downtown area. We decided to live at another community after viewing several. It didn't work out there, and decided to move to City View. It has blown the previous community away. The location of the community is the best in Downtown. The views of the city and the river are amazing. I can walk to River Front in less than 10 minutes and I can walk along the river instead of the street. My apartment is huge! For the money that I was paying I get way more here. The staff is super friendly, the maintenance guy is always around, and the office manager is super nice and easy to talk too. I can't wait to see what is coming in the near future.
