Property Ratings at CityView
I lived at CityView for more than two years and I enjoyed every moment of it. Besides the amenities and great location, the management team is amazing. Crystal, Cristina and Sara are very professional and work hard to ensure tenants feel at home. Now that I am moving out to another city, I'd like to thank them for all the effort they put into this vibrant community.

Your heartfelt review truly made our day! Thank you for taking the time to share how much you enjoyed every moment of your time as our resident, as well as for praising Crystal, Cristina, Sara, and our team. We will miss you, but we hope you will reach back out to us at newprospect@cityview-apts.com if we may ever be of service to you in the future!
From my first visit touring the facility (15 months ago), I thought the model apartment would closely resemble the one I was supposed to move into. It did not look at like the model. The floor and furniture were terrible. The floor was damaged and discolored. The dishwasher did not work properly and I was later told by the maintenance staff that it would not be replaced unless it completely stopped working. The furniture was worn down and damaged (probably due to the previous resident's pet). The office would not replace the damaged furniture. This does not include the termite issue I was dealing with for a month.

Thank you for this opportunity to address your concerns. Nothing matters more to us than your comfort in your home, so we regret your displeasure regarding your furniture, dishwasher, and pests. We would like to check in with you to determine how best to improve your satisfaction going forward, so will you please email us at newprospect@cityview-apts.com to discuss this further? We hope to chat soon.
This place is not what it appears to be when you visit/tour the models. When I moved in the floor was dingy, dark and discolored. The furniture (e.g. cabinets, doors, blinds) was old and it seemed like it was chewed on by an animal (possibly dog). When I asked to have it replaced, the maintenance staff either painted over or sanded the damaged areas. The electrical wiring doesn't make any sense. The ceiling lighting in the living room only provides light for the kitchen not the whole living room. For example a light switch in the bedroom only works in the bathroom. Closet space in the bedroom has no doors. I have had my car broken into twice and the facility has no cameras. Despite warnings from management, dog owners continue to let their pets poop on your door step. I can't wait to leave!

Everyday I would have to wake up and kill at least one roach. I would also add that I kept my apartment very clean and bought roach traps to try to help. I was also one the third floor so I cannot even fathom what is was like on the first. The staff is disorganized and borderline illiterate, maintenance is iffy at best, and overall this is not a nice place to live. Please invest some time to look for a better place.

If you read the contract you wouldn't sign. They have, in my view, breached the contract in multiple ways. 1. My back door/only window does not open anymore which is a fire hazard. 2. Their pipes burst and flood my apartment multiple times. When I complain that I'm treated unfairly, they reply, "It's not our problem." Disgusting 3. Their valet trash service is trash. They require garbage to be in a tied off bag, which doesn't say that in the contract. All the big boxes you need to dispose of isn't possible unless you find a dumpster nearby. All in all, do not sign to live here. Worst decision I've ever made in my entire life and I jumped into a lake and broke my neck, so I know a few things about bad decisions. Wish I could give them 0 stars. Regards, Nolan Wolf

Pretty nice everything, great staff, good amenities, but a little bit pricey. Sure its right next to downtown, but that was not worth the extra $/month. Lots of roaches, but that's just the area I guess. solid 4/5.

I'm torn. There are some good things about this place, and I haven't had a horrible experience, but I want to mention the things that have dropped this review from 5 to 2. 1. They charge high rates (35/month) for "valet trash service". This is a non-optional service. I would MUCH rather take it down one flight of stairs to the dumpster myself, but that is not an option. That wouldn't even be an issue if they actually performed the service. I have followed their rules to the letter, and they routinely refuse to pick up my trash and then send me a generic email "reminding" me of the rules even though I have followed all of them. I have talked to the office staff several times, but they are either unable or unwilling to do anything about it. 2. They have twice brought in a huge dumpster, parked it in the middle of the parking lot and then let it slowly fill up with trash....Over Christmas, it was there for weeks. This last time, it was there for a little over a week. Additionally, the trash piles up in a mountain every weekend in front of the regular dumpster to the point you can't even get to the trash compactor. It is disgusting! 3. In September, I had signed up to rent a washer/dryer through the complex, but I was told it would be more than a month before I could expect it to be delivered/installed. I got home from work one day and found that maintenance had been in my apartment to install them with NO warning/notice. I felt absolutely violated in my own space. Later on I got an email from the office telling me that my wait time was still several weeks even though they had already been installed. In fairness to the office, they did apologize and give me a month off the washer/dryer rent. 4. When I first got here, the office took weeks to give me my mailbox key. I kept coming back to check every time they gave me a new estimate and they kept procrastinating. I eventually had to talk to the manager who resolved the issue swiftly. All of those issues have contributed to why I am writing this review. That being said, I want to be fair and say that the manager is very nice and she does what she can. Logan in the leasing office is also excellent. Maintenance is generally quick to respond to issues, and the apartment itself is nice. I don't know if other people are having the same issues I am, but I definitely felt that I needed to write up this review.

My friend just moved from here, she has some safety issues while living here. Sadly, management had a very poor reaction to my concerns.

Will you please share more details with us at info@recarrollmanagement.com? Thank you in advance for reaching out and for the opportunity to assist you.
I had multiple really bad experiences here. Things stolen, not let into the mail room by a resident, unauthorized people walking into my apartment. I had video evidence of all of the above but management didn't care one bit. 10-10 Would not recommend. The office staff is very nice.
I moved in here and was very impressed with Logan and the front office staff. They're all friendly and accomodating. Before moving in they were prompt with responses and super helpful. I was stressed about moving but they did everything they could to not make it stressful. As a resident, I use their services and Logan has gone out of her way to help use them (office center) when I need something. Highly recommend.

I had a great experience moving across the country and moving into City View Apartments. Blair is an excellent manager for the residents as well as the rest of the staff are extremely pleasant and friendly. The community center has a great gym as well as office with computers and printers. I would recommend living in these apartments to anyone coming to the Greensboro area.

First off I would like to say the gym is amazing and if you like to do things downtown GSO then this is the place to be if you don’t mind bugs. Blair the assistant property manager is very responsive and pleasant to work with. Although I’ve had pest issues since the first week I’ve moved in and my apartment was filthy when I moved in. I’ve been told that pest control has treated my apartment and comes every two weeks. For what I am paying in rent, I cannot look past the dead and alive bugs so I’m moving out in January. I do have a first floor apartment and I was told 5 other units have this issue. So after five months of being patient and understanding when I brought up a sister property transfer or discount in my rent the property manager was unprofessional. I’ve since then contacted corporate and it’s been over a week and still no response. Also, I travel a lot and out of 6 weekends I spent here this summer the pool was closed for 3 weeks. I actually put on my swimsuit and sunscreen to walk out to the pool for a sign to be hanging on it closed. So poor communication as well. Train doesn’t bother me but is extremely loud and always police sirens going off at all times of the day.

I am looking to move into an area closer to downtown. I feel that the City View location is perfect. The office staff are amazing, quick to answer questions and help when needed. I like the area and the atmosphere of the apartments. I am looking at a 1st floor and i fell in love with the O'Henry. Nothing major but just want i was looking for..

Roaches are still here despite treatment and other tenants have them as well. Paying a high amount a month to live with roaches is insane. Please look elsewhere unless you enjoy roaches

I have lived in City View now for 1.5 years. The staff has always been super friendly, prompt in returning my calls, maintenance has fixed any issues I have had, and the community is great! It is super close to downtown if you enjoy the buzz of downtown life. The pool is great during the summer. All the dogs walking around are super friendly too! Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to live near downtown.

When moving to Greensboro, I began looking in the downtown area. I let them know I want my view to be facing the city and they made sure it happened. I'm high enough to see the clock tower and other surrounding buildings. I love the valet trash services as well. That's always a plus. So far I've been here for a year and enjoying every moment :)

CityView has been the absolute worst apartment complex I have ever lived in. My first major issue was soon after I moved in. I had major water leaks in the ceiling in both the living room and my bedroom that result holes, cracking, plaster crumbling, and mold. It took CItyView 7 MONTHS to address the issue. I worked with 3 property managers and over 7 leasing consultants within those 7 months. My second major issue was that my AC and heating broke three times in less than a year. The most recent time, the issue was immediately diagnosed by maintenance and the office waited 4 days before they even ordered the part. The day the office ordered the part was a Friday over a holiday weekend and of course I had to wait an additional 3 days, leaving me without AC when it was over 80 degrees during the day for 7 days. Not only was the office extremely unhelpful and had a general lack of concern for fixing my AC but one leasing consultant was extremely rude and insinuated that I was acting unreasonably by telling me that other residents who did not have AC were OK with not having it for an additional 3 days and that I should be as well. My third issue was with one maintenance man in particular. Generally, the maintenance staff are friendly and courteous but one came into my apartment, was cursing the entire time, took pictures of my apartment door which had absolutely nothing to do with the maintenance request, and then intentionally tried to scare my dog multiple times and continued to laugh as I grabbed her and tried to protect her. I immediately called and emailed the property manager at the time and said that I did not want that maintenance man anywhere near my apartment again. The property manager called me immediately and assured me that this man would not be allowed back in my apartment. The maintenance man showed up to my apartment the next day. Finally, the apartments and the complex are generally in terrible condition. Almost every appliance in my apartment broke, there are bugs constantly, my apartment was missing shelves, there is always trash in the hallways, the WiFi that is included in rent rarely works, and the “security gates” are always broken and left propped open. The office is full of excuses and their favorite line is that they are “understaffed.” This is not the resident’s problem and it is not an excuse for the unimaginable situations that I and many other residents have encountered while living here.

I just moved in a couple of months ago and I really enjoy living here! The location is amazing and I'm able to walk downtown and get to restaurants and bars easily now that the weather is warming up. I've also noticed several people using the lime scooters and bikes which also extremely convenient! All the staff members have been very nice and helpful. The maintenance guy that came to replace a light bulb that blew out even had a dog treat in his pocket to give to my fur baby...how cute! The gym is to die for, it's so big and always open. I'm so excited for summer and being able to use the pool and roof top deck. Overall I've had no issues and I am really loving it here.

My first review was deleted, so I will re post. I have had a cockroach problem for months with no resolve. I like my apartment and location but the roaches are a major problem. I am not the only resident who has complained. Management has not taken my concern seriously at all. Also the parking is very tight.

The modern, clean layout of the apartments are exactly what we were looking for. If you something a little different in an amazing location you have got to check out CityView Apts. Amenities seemed in line with price. Walking distance to restaurants and downtown living. The staff was knowledgeable friendly and very accommodating. Priced competitively, we will definitely be calling this place home.

I have lived here for over two years. Location and actual apartments are nice, but management is absolutely horrible. They have owed me $500 for about 14 months now. They do not respond to my emails about it and every time I ask them about it in person (too many times to count at this point), they brush me off and assure me it’s coming, but I’m certain it never will. I had a cockroach problem until I got a cat (and paid the $300 pet deposit) to chase them off. The pool always opens late in the summer and closes early. It’s not worth paying the ridiculously high rent just to deal with the incompetent management here. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

This was the worst place I have ever lived. Management was extremely inconsiderate and disrespectful. When I first moved into my apartment, it was still dirty from the previous tenant and had no air conditioning. When my toilet broke, it took 3 weekdays before maintenance came out and fixed it (I lived in a 1 bedroom, 1 bath apartment). When I called management about the issue, the manager I spoke to actually laughed at me. My mail/packages were lost multiple times due disorganization of management and nothing was done about it. I had dozens of issues during my time there. Out of the year I lived there, the gates were broken more than half of the time. I heard about cars being broken into and crimes in the area, so this did not make me feel safe. The parking spots are extremely tight and the paint on my car is ruined from people denting the sides with their doors. Parking is not monitored, so parking lots would fill up with guests of residents. I often had to park multiple buildings away from my apartment building, especially in the evening or on weekends. Noise was also a major issue. There were constant parties throughout the complex, both on weekdays and weekends. The noise (screaming drunk people, blaring music, etc) kept me awake all the time. It was honestly torture. Management promoted parties by hiring DJ's and buying kegs for the residents. I don't care about noise on the weekend, but there is a limit. Being kept up until 3 am most Wednesday/Thursday nights was too much for me. After almost every weekend there would be broken bottles and trash all over the apartment complex. The gym and pool were always too overcrowded to enjoy. Be sure to read your entire lease agreement, there are hidden fees. When moving out, you are required to give a 60 day notice that is never mentioned when you sign your lease/move in. If you do not give a 60 day notice, you have to pay 60 days of rent with extra surcharges. There are just shady practices here and horrible management.

Residents leave bags of garbage everywhere and management refuses to enforce the rules to deter this. If you're interested in the pool, it was closed twice last summer; once for almost 3 weeks. This year, we have been told the the "hope to have it open by June 1" after being told "it is scheduled to be open by Memorial Day Monday". When confronted with these issues, management has been completely unresponsive at the local level and the regional level. Imagine the type of place that increases the amenities fee and then doesn't get the pool open before or during Memorial Day weekend. Meanwhile, the community owned by the same company just down the street has their residents at the pool throughout the 80 degree days in May without issue. Again, when management was presented these issues, the response has been "we really can't enforce the rule about residents leaving bags of garbage outside their apartment" and "we never said the pool would be open year-round". Not exactly the epitome of customer service. Poor place to live.

This has been my WORST EVER experience with apartment living! When I moved into my apartment it had clearly never been cleaned professionally. There was mildew in the bathtub, pine needles in the carpet, hair on the bathroom floors, and identified food particles on the kitchen floor and walls. Gross. I spent our whole first day bleaching and scrubbing the apartment. The management is not helpful at all... I lived here for 2 months with our security gates bungeed open because the management did not make it a priority to fix this for the residents... This is an apartment that is downtown and multiple cars have been broken into, without a security gate operating properly you can imagine the stress that a single girl could feel in an apartment complex that promised gated protection.... The trash here smells terrible 6 out of the 7 days in a week! Often times the trash is overflowing and residents are forced to leave their trash laying on the pavement...health depart issue, I THINK SO!! Speaking of health issues, I have had ROACHES in my apartment.. Among many other pests. This has never been an issue at any of the other complexes I've lived in. Parking here sucks the spaces are tight and if you have a nice car better get used to seeing a new ding/dent on your car everyday.. The residents here are young and rowdy the pool area is a big concern and issue, the management here has an extremely difficult time managing this amenity.. Also be prepared to see trash left all over the common grounds from Friday and Saturday night partying... I can't wait to move out in 3 months, I would never recommend living here or ANY property owned by Carroll Properties. If your looking for something downtown there are plenty of other options! Save yourself the grief... Don't be fooled by the nice clubhouse and promises made by management.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our home here at CityView… We are only a short walk away from all the fun restaurants and bars that are in downtown Greensboro. CityView has gone through plenty of changes with management and even ownership since we've been here, but the manager (Britni) and staff now are extremely helpful and actually concerned with the well-being of the residents. We have enjoyed the time at the pool and all the fun that accompanies it on the weekends. Also CityView had a great social mixer a couple weeks ago where they had free drinks, food, and even cigars to residents. If your looking to move close to downtown Greensboro, CityView is the spot!
Cityview has been a great first apartment complex right out of college. It is in the perfect location downtown where I can walk to restaurants, work, and nightlife. The units are new and well kept, my only complaint is that most one bedrooms do not have windows in them, so natural light is limited to the kitchen/living room area. The pool and gym are both clean and nice. So far my encounters with staff have been pleasant and helpful. Its a great community for young professionals and young families alike.
City View has a great location in downtown Greensboro, NC. The apartments are all relatively new and well maintained. The common areas are also very nice, with a new office and gym. The gym is amazing, unlike any other apartment gym I have ever seen. The apartment complex was recently sold and the new management is still trying to sort everything out. Maintenance, socials, and information sharing have gone slightly down hill and have been accompanied by a huge rent increase. Overall though I still enjoy living at City View.
