Property Ratings at Cityvue @5101
This is literally the worst apartment you can live at. It’s full of roaches, they don’t care about safety. It’s only cameras in the office. The management always has an attitude and never actually helps.

Destiny, we are disappointed to hear that you feel this way about our team and community. Please send us an email or make an appointment to come speak with us directly and we would be happy to meet with you to hear your concerns. Thank you and we hope to turn your experience around.
Look elsewhere. Any of the other complexes in the neighborhood would be better. 3 or 4 of the buildings on the property are in a flood plain and are currently condemned due to flooding that resulted in something like 15-20 people having to be evacuated by the fire dept. by boat. Maintenance staff are nice, but management staff are terrible. Lots of construction projects happening in occupied units at the moment without due notice. When one of these construction crews left an absolute mess in my apartment, I called to complain and the manager told me that I was welcome to move if I wasn't happy the contractor's work. This wasn't a trivial mess, it was wood shards all over my floor, unfinished trim, leftover parts strewn about my bedroom. A real hackjob. On top of all this, they're raising rents in December despite the pool on site being closed since the flood. So I get to pay $100 more a month without access to the pool that was here when I moved in? Great. Like I said, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Or lose all your belongings in the next flood, your call.

The only notice that the windows and patio doors were going to be replaced and that personal possessions needed to be moved away from the doors and windows was a letter attached to my door left the day before. However, due to being out of town that night, this method of notice never reached me. Either more advanced notice or even a text or call would have helped and I could have arranged to have someone I trust move my things out of the way as well as clean and secure my cat as requested in the notice. I am not comfortable having people entering my apartment and moving my things around when there is minimal effort or time given to letting me know this all was happening. The only thing I received during this time was a text on the 4th stating “FYI: You might see someone inspecting the exterior and window wells of the building this morning.” This does not AT ALL suggest that construction would be taking place and that things would need to be moved, work was going to be done, or someone entering my apartment. Instead, I came home to to furniture being shoved out of the way and even more of my things, including furniture, being dumped on my mattress, ALL without my being contacted, other than a piece of paper left at the door the day before. I am still baffled by and disappointed in the City Vue staff that I was only given 24-hours notice of such significant construction being done in my living space and not even being called or texted with such a notice.

MOLD IS GROWING IN THE WALLS! For your safety don’t rent here. These are very old and need to be renovated badly. Mold grows in the walls and they just cover them up with paint. When it rains water will leak through the walls. The walls are so thin you can here your neighbor talking on the phone. Everything breaks constantly. The staff is very friendly and maintenance does temporary fixes. Black debris always comes out of the shower and faucet. THESE APARTMENTS HAVE FLOODED MULTIPLE TIMES. Save your money and rent somewhere else.

Even though the property manager has been writing saying that they correct things, this is not so. I have witnessed them having issues brought to them and not correcting. I don't feel that my concerns would be addressed if I would renew my lease therefore I am not.
Property Manager at Cityvue @5101, Responded To This Review
We take these reviews very seriously and have a strong commitment to our residents in making sure their needs are met and concerns addressed. When you are able, please reach out to our staff to discuss this further. Thank you.
Has been awful living here, not even 6 months into the lease and we have to make emergency maintenance requests multiple times every month for all the issues here. 4 floods, a broken dishwasher, freezer stopped working and lost all our groceries, not to mention how thin the walls are here. The staff being nice and friendly doesn't make up for the fact that these buildings need badly updated. Rent and fees are far too high for the massive issues this place has

We are very disheartened to see that your experience has not been what we would have wanted it to have been. We have a strong commitment to our residents and want to be sure that any outstanding concerns you may have are properly attended to. Please reach out to a team member when you are able.
If you're a non smoker these apartments are not for you. It's an old apartment so a lot of the smoke that will be in your apartment is years old. Also there are holes all throughout the apartment that seep from other apartments to allow cigarette smoke to get in your living space. Other than that the apartments can be quiet, and a little iffy about safety.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a great review! We could not be happier with how much you enjoy our community. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns in the future. Thanks, again!
I have lived at these apartments for 3 years. The staff is so friendly and helpful-- especially Mike! I would refer anyone to live here, it has become my home and I'm planning on staying until I can buy a house. One of the best things for me is that you walk into a hallway to get into the apartments, this adds a factor of safety.

CityVue apts are a great value. They are very close to downtown Nashville and have updated apartments that are still very affordable. The office staff has great customer service too.

Thank you for the five stars! Nothing makes us happier than hearing from residents who are loving life here at South Brook. Remember, the office is always just a quick phone call away should you ever need anything. Our team is here to help, thanks again!
Used to live at South Brook Apartments in Nashville. There was a drug raid while I lived there, the ceiling in my bathroom leaked horribly twice and was fixed up in a way that could only be described as "patch work," and the manager tried to make me pay almost $600 to change the carpets because of water damage (probably because of all the issues with water leakibg from downstairs) over a MONTH after I moved out and had already received a final inspection letter and check, which did not once mention any damages to the carpets. I could hear people walking around the complex at night, discussing which apartments would be easier to break into. There was an issue with someone getting held up in the parking lot. Easily the shadiest management I have ever had to deal with. Glad it's over and I am in a better apartment complex.
Three words that best describe Southbrook: affordable, friendly staff, great location....well that's more than three words lol. I've lived here at Southbrook for a little over four years now and I've never been happier. The apartments are located in the harding place area, just 10 minutes from downtown Nashville, and a hop skip and a jump from Antioch. Compared to nearby apartments in the area, they are more affordable in one and two bedroom floor plans. Yes they are outdated because they are an old apartment complex but you can't beat the price! Lately they been adding new amenities to the apartments which are very helpful, while keeping the apartment rates still affordable. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful which makes a complete difference. Everyday there's something going on at the office to keep all the residents and their families involved such as bingo, movie night, trivia games as well as activities for children. If you're looking for a friendly ,nmentgreat location, and affordable rates Southbrook is definitely a place you should have on your list of apartments searches!
