Situated at the heart of Idaho's largest city, downtown Boise combines the amenities of a modern city with the warmth and safety of a small community. During the day, the wide streets buzz with professionals. In the evening, the restaurants and bars near the intersection of West Idaho Street and North 8th Street come alive with live music and outdoor dining. Residents enjoy a range of housing options, from sleek apartments near the commercial area to single-family homes on the surrounding residential streets.
After work, residents head to Bittercreek Ale House for a draft beer and a locally-sourced, grass-fed lamb burger — for an indulgent snack, try the poutine, a local favorite. When you want an active evening, go for a run in the spacious Julia Davis Park and pause to watch people tubing down the Boise River. Well-maintained sidewalks and dedicated bike lanes enable safe walking and biking around the compact neighborhood.

Property Ratings at Civic Plaza Apartments
I would recommend because it’s nice place in an nice location
Honestly, having lived here at Civic Plaza for 8+ years, I've had absolutely no major issues with the complex or with management. I know everyone in the office on a first name basis and I think that maintenance guys appreciate the cleanliness of my apartment the few times they've needed to come in to service something.
The security needs to be upgraded. A lot of theft and drug use in parking garage.
I highly recommend this place for family or friends especially the seniors
Cecelia and everyone in your office staff I have met all have beautiful attitudes...and yes they're very smart! Very pro and nice to me so don't want to live anywhere else in Boise. Thx??
The office people are great and the place is clean.
I would recommend this apartment community to individuals would like a very active lifestyle, with hopes of potentially living more permanently in a downtown environment.
I have been here six months the fire alarms have gone off several times the police have been here five times that I have know of my rent was raised in the middle of my year lease.
Living at downtown and near by all what u need is so convenient for my age my satuation , the apartment is nice and affordable As well as I am enjoying the community events by feeling the Life and sounds of people around , I don?t like v calm and quiet living complexes
Location is great, price is reasonable. Only downside is the fire alarms that go off extremely often for no reason (or someone pulls the alarm as a prank)
People smoking in their apartment all the time, even pot! It's supposed to be smoke free environment! Neighbors with stupid kids jumping off furniture all the time above us, adults slamming and banging things til really late at night as if fighting! Landlord won't do nothing! It sucks here!
Hallways smells real bad. Every time I am walking through hallways I hold my breath as long as I can so I don’t smell the bad odor. Maybe refreshners would help.
Management presents the apartment complexes as good, but here's the truth: 1. Hotel setup, the front doors aren't soundproof, and you can hear into neighbor's apartments while in the hallway so no real privacy. 2. The entire building is infested with bedbugs, they are living in the walls. Also, this allows bedbugs to enter uninfested apartments though the electrical outlets. You will have to pay the electric bill is bedbug abatement is done in your apartment. 3. The alarms are constantly being pulled by vandals to the point of breaking the alarm system. 4. The buildings' alarm systems have been vandalized, causing floors to flood and major water abatement and restoration work. You will pay for the power for fans to dry out your apartment if this happens. 5. This location is near the greenbelt, which is overrun with homeless, transient, and drug-addicted people that come into Civic apartments. 5. There are no assigned parking spaces for tenants, Ada County Courthouse employees park in the same garage, and BSU uses the garage when there are games! 6. Many people that live here have significant mental health or drug issues and these buildings are government subsidized for low-income people. I had a person that was stalking me and management refused to help. 7. The are two elevators per building, the elevators are always down, and sometimes they are broken over the entire weekend. 8. These are supposed to be No Smoking buildings, but people smoke anyways in stairwells, hallway, and apartments. 9. People drop food or drag their trash bags in the hallway to the garbage room. One day someone threw up and the vomit was in a trail up to and under their door! 10. The noise in the building is unrelenting. 11. If you have an apartment that faces the courtyard, your windows will not open. 12. Mail packages and newspapers have been stolen from front doors because of the hotel-like setup. Forget about having a doormat or door decoration because they're not allowed. 13. None of the bedrooms have overhead lights, the bathrooms have no fans, and the HVAC units take up a lot of room. 14. If your neighbor cooks, the smell will come into your apartment through the exhaust fan in your kitchen. 15. The noise from the traffic starts early in the morning so you'll never get to sleep in if your apartment faces the street. 16. The building is being taken over by refugees and they prop their door open while cooking instead of using their fan!
For folks like me with fixed income, this is a rare find, convenient, comfortable. Neighbors are nice; staff is nice.
My apartment is an incredible value and its location is unbeatable. There are a few things I would like to see changed or initiated but, as a whole, it has been--and continues to be--a great experience and I would definitely recommend.
I would recommend the building to anyone. Although, I do let them know about not being market units and the fire alarms that get pulled frequently.
It's a great place .. I had to move because I would have exceeded How much I make so I wouldn't be Abel to live there or I'd probably still be there
however, I will tell everone that my rent is to go up so much that I am being forced to leave.
I loved living here and loved how safe I always felt. May be strange but after a recent tragedy in the news about an apartment complex in London I have thought about how outstanding your fire safety and response is, the building was always evacuated fast and safely and the fire department was super fast at getting there.
It was a great apartment, clean and affordable and a great location. The only negative experience I had was the late night fire alarms.
I have lived here for almost a year now. I love the location, and how I am walking distance from just about everything in downtown Boise. For being in the heart of it all, rent is not that expensive. However, they are now increasing my rent if I resign, which makes me upset. Also, I love how I can always find a parking space in the garage after business hours. What I don't like about sharing the garage with the neighboring courthouse, is anyone is able to get into the elevator and stairwell which lead to the apartments above. Recently we have had people vandalize my floors sprinkler system, and someone also started a fire in the garbage room on the floor above me, thus causing the fire alarm to ring for two hours at 1:30 in the morning. If there was some sort of way to make sure unwanted visitors stayed out of the residential portion of the building, I would resign my lease. Overall, the first 6 months of my stay were enjoyed with my boise foothills view and short walk to downtown nightlife.
