As one of the major economic centers of Alabama and one of the signature cities of the Southeast, Birmingham has done an impressive job of adapting to the new demands of the 21st century. The city that once built a reputation as the “Pittsburgh of the South” thanks to a robust steel manufacturing industry is now a hip community attracting entrepreneurs, artists, and innovative personalities. Birmingham remains one of the most active business hubs in the region, with headquarters for everything from banks to biotech firms operating in the city.
The dining, nightlife, and entertainment scenes have all grown rapidly in recent years, and just about everyone in town has an opinion about where to find the best brewery. Gorgeously preserved historic buildings and a pervasive attitude of down-home hospitality have kept Birmingham’s famous southern charm intact as well, creating a unique environment where the best elements of the traditional and the modern complement each other.

Property Ratings at Clay Landings Apartments
I went to the apartment complex easier this week and was greeted by Diane immediately and warmly. I was able to ask any questions without hesitation and all answers were straight forward regarding the application process, possible move in dates and any general questions. I felt like I was already a resident and would feel confident of moving in.
I had the privilege to meet with Diane and complete my application process 1 year ago January. It’s been peaceful and great start to my journey. It was a little rocky at first but all my issues and concerned in a timely manner . Diane is the best along with Rodney one of the maintenance guys .
They know there stuff and they helped me with any problems I had. They are also striving towards making this location great thank you so much
I’ve been staying in Clay landings for almost a year and it’s been nothing short of amazing. The apartment manager is so nice and understanding. She works with you and actually talks to you and explain. I love my apartment and overall I love staying here
Property Manager at Clay Landings Apartments, Responded To This Review
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a wonderful review! We are delighted to hear that you have had an amazing experience with us, and that our team has provided you with exceptional service. We appreciate your kind words and hope that you continue to enjoy your apartment and your time here!
Helped my brother move out after his 6 month lease and was devastated that he spent ONE night in this cesspool. Every major appliance, stove fridge, and dishwasher needs to be removed and thrown away. Even upon leaving, maintenance is mowing directly over the trash on the ground causing debris such as water bottles and other trash to go flying. My brother has the means to leave, but I truly feel for the people who do not. I have never in my life seen living conditions this way other than in a bad movie. Drive through if you're in disbelief. This is a prisoncamp/halfway house. I am beyond stunned.
We moved in last summer and things were mostly fine. The apartment had new floors/carpet and new appliances, but wasn't cleaned or painted. I cleaned as best I could, but we have a full kitchen cabinet that is unusable due to dead bug detritus and other unknown filth I can''t bring myself to touch. I vacuumed the other drawers and cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms and had to empty my vacuum twice from all the dead roaches. Our kitchen cabinets are falling in and nothing has been done. Last year, we had 2 to 3 maintenance men and service was quick. When we called, someone came by to check on us within an hour or two depending on the issue. Now, we leave a message or report a problem online and pray someone shows up. It is not the maintenance man's fault. He's great- there is just too much work for one person. We are on our 3rd manager in less than 12 months. When the 3rd one came in, we had no idea the second one left. The second one made it a point to introduce herself with a letter and was doing a good job cleaning up the complex. Our pool closed halfway during last summer and is still closed now on 06/10. All other pools in the area opened around Memorial Day. We chose this complex because of the pool and playground. That playground they advertise...there is no playground. Not even a swing. Kids play by the dumpsters or in a grassy open area full of hidden holes. I pay for pest control, but it supposedly can't be set up for them to just come regularly, you have to take the time to call every week and sign up. Even if you do that, they may or may not show up. Some of the people who live here are nasty and can't seem to get their trash all the way to the dumpster. It's like they make it part way and just drop it. They also throw fast food wrappers, glass bottles and dirty diapers all over the parking lot. We also have a problem with non-residents dumping their old furniture and trucks full of garbage. This is a known issue, but is never meaningfully addressed. Cheap cameras and a few signs would go a long way. I'm a full paying renter and am looking for something else. For what I pay, I could live in a much nicer complex that is clean, in good working order with a pool and playground. Let's be real...for what I pay, I could rent a small house. Think twice before moving here. Unless it's your only option, don't make the same mistake I did.
I've stay here about 2 years .. they have changed management 5 times .. roach infestation !!!!!! This apartment really need to be shut down asap!!!!! I called the office a least 8 times ,but they still haven't sent the Pest control!!!!
When i first got here.. i thought they were great apartments. Until i start living here. I'm very disappointed. I would love for my rent to be paid up for life but not here. At least a year here. Then i could save up an move to some better Apartment or evening a house who knows. This would bless me. I hope im a winner!!
I would love to move. But i dont have the funds to. This probably would be good apartments if it had better management. No good maintenance an the area has a feel of living in the projects to be honest. But hopefully i win cause i would like to move with this free rent for a year it would give me a chance to save up the money to move. I hope im the winner!!
