The 60 miles of white-sand beaches are just the beginning to what Myrtle Beach offers, and as a resident you'll be able to enjoy the sun and surf any time. But you'll also enjoy shopping at Coastal Grand Mall, playing golf at Pine Lakes Country Club, River Oaks Golf Plantation, and Whispering Pines. Myrtle Beach International Airport is a convenient way for residents to travel, and Myrtle Beach State Park provides a glimpse into South Carolina's natural past -- the boardwalk and fishing pier are great, too. The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade is home to the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel, Plyer Park, and dozens of shops, restaurants, and bars.
Living in a resort town means you'll enjoy fantastic destinations like Family Kingdom Amusement Park, Ripley's Believe It or Not! Myrtle Beach, the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, and Myrtle Beach Zipline Adventures.

Property Ratings at Claypond Commons
Unless you are good with mold and German cockroaches I wouldn't even look at this place. They don't enforce their own rules and allow people to have personal grills which is a fire hazard. Landscaping is a joke they don't even mow near the patio and the grass is growing sky high. Loud music and people yelling late at night not to mention the cops always showing up so safety is out the window. And don't get me started on parking, the lots are always full of either broken cars with flat tires or people renting a 2 bedroom but have 5+ cars. Trust me, with the amount of money they want to squeeze out of you you're better off somewhere else that's at least clean.

The place is run down! Apartment price is so high. Rent includes pest control treatment but i have to keep requesting pest control time and time again. When you speak to management they are so unhelpful. They don’t care about anything other than money.

Black mold, roach, and snake infested. Negligent property managers. Water is coming up from the ground into the apartments. A/C breaks every summer and doesnt get fixed until Fall. This place should be condemned!
I wouldn’t recommend these apartments. For what you pay you would expect updated units, better pool care, the courtyards become swamps when it rains and you can’t even walk the property with water filling your shoes. My closet has flooded twice in 2 months. Still waiting on the water extraction guy and this happened 24 hours ago.
The property appears beautiful at first sight then you move in and find out that it is mold riddled roach infested and repairs are promised but never made. The buildings are falling apart and are just bandaged instead of properly repaired. Management will make promises of repairs and upgrades that are yet to be made. The playground is falling apart and unsafe. The garbage is always overflowing. Air conditioners are constantly breaking down. There are piles of dog excrement everywhere and cigarette butts are more abundant than blades of grass. There is little to nothing done in the way of security and prices continue to increase. The pool itself was resurfaced but the chairs are falling apart and are few in number.
In my time living here we had so many problems. Our ac was out and I called to get it fixed and found mold all over the ac went, the sprayed it with bleach and it went away for bit. It came back and they did it again and I never had a problem after that with mold. After they fixed our ac the first time it broke again, we had maintenance come look at it again and they told us there was nothing they can do. They put in one window ac unit (for a 2 bedroom/2 bath) during summer and never came back to look at it again. It was like that for at least 4 months, maybe even pushing on 6. I loved the ladies in the office but if they want people to live here and have a good review for there apartment they need to pick it up and start understanding that people have to live here and it is there home.
It's just not safe here, a building burned down recently, and there are all types of parties at night when you're trying to sleep. Management doesn't care about anything except money.
I was searching for a place to live. Skylar made me feel right at home, showed me around, introduced me to the entire staff and gave pointers on place to shop. This is a small close knit community. I love living here and seeing the wildlife at the pond. This is a place I shall remain because it feels like home.
Ever since new management came in, they just let anyone and everyone move in. Trying to have a relaxing night? Nope.. now they've got all kinds of people (teenagers mostly) run around and be loud and play inappropriate music in the courtyard. Granted, I've only seen this when management leaves. New management is awful. A lot of complaints have been made and they do nothing about it and just brush them off. A lot of new residents are moving in, which is great, but at the same time they're rude, nasty and VERY inconsiderate by not complying with the noise ordinance during the week. Also, leaving the whole complex trashy and unappealing. The management doesn't care how you feel as long as they're getting their money. It used to be an alright place to stay but now, not so much.. this place has gone to crap. The laundry room sucks (you have to pay more than a regular laundry mat) on top of the outrageous amount it is just for rent, and dryers dont work half of the time. A lot of people have roaches and complained multiple times to said management and they do nothing about that issue
I would reccomemed for anyone who wants to live here to not. This place is ridiculous. There is no assigned parking so you will have to park all the way on the other side of the complex then walk to your apartment. The managers and the mantince man are rude and not helpful at all. You will be woken up every morning from them either banging on the roof or trying to fix something because everything needs to be fixed here, you can also here people in the other apartments. I actually can’t wait to move out of here!! And they will come in your apartment without your knowledge. So I hope this helps anyone one out that was considering this place. This is a current resident by the way.
Last week I called about my status on an apartment that I had applied for. I was told that I wasn't accepted, but they would tell me why I was refused. It cost me 100 dollars for two application fees. I have very good credit with a credit score in the mid 700's. I came to find out that they never even ran a credit check after they said they did. I know my background check is good because I legally own a handgun in the state of Maryland and have no felony's. They wouldn't refund my application fee. I wonder how much they make off of application fees by ripping people off!!!
They are renovating units and they will tell you if the apartment is or not it also shows in the price , ours is updated I guess lighting and the kitchen , we only saw this one so not really sure what others look like , but we do love our one bedroom , we never had any issues with drug dealers, homeless or any thing else , we one time smelt pot everywhere and the courtesy officer came right away , he lives on property and is an actual LE officer for the county such an awesome guy! He even came back to follow up a few days later! The management has just changed , which I personally loved Denise but we will see how these ones go, first impression of the new staff isn't the best but we will see... For the price (ecsp how much rent has sky rocketed in the myrtle beach area ) , and location it's a great complex , our water heater broke an maint installed a new one within the hour . And landscaping is here weekly! Hope this review helps!
If you want to rent from a apartment complex that does not care aboutTheir residents that pay their rent every month and not cause trouble move here.they allow losers and pigs and squatters to live here.low class people.they allow drug dealers to move in.i have lived here 2 years trust me they are the worst of the worst.move here at your own risk they allow cocktail parties in hallways.bums knocking on your door for money ,drugs, rides.and they dont care about these goings on until it hits there pocket book and they dont pay their rent.they have no security and your life is in your own hands .the office management is a revolving door.no one stays.the apartments are old and run down.but now they are starting to renivate.when i moved in from out of state site unseen.when i got here i wanted to cry.dirty stained patched up rugs.dirty white floor that did not ever come clean just a disgrace.so if this all sounds good move here.if you have any kind of class steer clear its a dump.take it from me i lived next door to. These people.so my lease was coming so im leaving cant take living like this.i was going thru so much with this place that we asked the place were moving if we could come sooner .my lease is up march 31st.i got where im going to let us move in the 14th.to get away from this dump.well i told management i would pay til the 14 th but they want the whole month.just not fair with everything we have gone thru.there answer we dont care pay the whole month thats when your lease is up.well we are good people and dont want to do anything to ruin our good credit.thats a disgrace.they are total crooks and inconsiderate.but remember all the homeless squatters stayed for free.oh yah the mold issue disgusting and they have let people out of their leases for that.steer clear of this dive.nothing but a dump.am i mad sure i am.i wouldnt write this if i wasnt.im not a disgruntled tenant. I am me a good decent person just telling the truth and warning all you good people looking for a good place to move.
If you are looking for a place just to pay rent, then this is a good place for you. If you are looking for a place that has any interest in maintenance and making needed repairs, then you should continue looking. Management has no concern about constant flooding of your apartment when it rains, or repairing the mold and mildew caused by the water problems.
I want to say, if someone had told me I would be living in an apartment for over 12yrs, I would have said " I don't think so". Living here at Clay Pond has been a good experience, I treat it as my home. Clay Pond Commons management make sure to maintain the outside, pool, amenities, and inside to keep that feeling of a home community. They are very tactful in dealing with any issues that come up, also in resolving them as quickly as possible, to make sure we are safe, happy, and comfortable. This area is great, because you are minutes away from everything you need, and activities you would like to embark on.
Good community, aside from a couple people. Apartment is very outdated (bathroom and kitchen). No overhead lighting in the bedrooms or living room, which is a big inconvenience.
