Property Ratings at Clayton Village Apartments
Aside from the apartment being really small, that's something I was able to manage with, but having such horrible management that's just to much! Every interaction I had with them They were extremely rude, and condescending, they would randomly, never followed through, would come pounding on me door if they needed something, never polite or civil, really horrible. I've had throughout the years many landlords but never was I treated so poorly.

We are very sorry to hear that you were unsatisfied with your stay here at Clayton Village Apts. We have recently had a change in management, and have never received any complaints like this directly from any of our tenants. If you would like you are more than welcome to reach out to the Leasing Office 730am-330pm Mon- Fri, they will be more than happy to discuss any issues you are having. Generally no one would come knocking on your door unless there was a maintenance emergency that needed to be dealt with in a prompt fashion. Again we are sorry you had a bad experience here but wish you well in your future endeavors.
I am unsure of why the negative reviews, but people do love to complain about anything and everything. I can say this complex is well maintained, quiet and close to everything. At this point in our economy, price wise it's pretty equivalent to many other places for rent, unless you don't mind slumming it to pay less money. I enjoy living here and if I need anything the property manager and maintenance guys are prompt to respond. I'd recommend living here.

Thank you for the kind words. We strive to make everyone feel at home here at Clayton Village.
Similar apartments are much cheaper in the greater Binghamton area. The property is maintained very well but employees are constantly out smoking cigarettes during the day. If you are looking for an affordable quiet apartment I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
I would stay away from here if you can. The management is terrible, simple put inefficient, dishonest and doesn’t follow through with what they say. I would look into any other place if you can.
What an amazing place! Clayton Village has been my home for many years and will be for years to come! Cannot say enough good things about it here.
By far one of the best places I've rented in Vestal, NY. Walking distance to bus lines, restaurants, shops, everything! All the staff at Clayton are professional and attentive. This is a nice, clean, quiet complex that I am proud to call my home!
I've lived at Clayton Village Apartments for 8 years. My first year was in a one bedroom unit and the rest of the time my family has grown into a two bedroom. First, the Cons: 1. No dishwasher - In most units, there is no dishwasher. I've heard that they are being installed as the apartments turnover and that some units now have them. This is a pretty recent change. So if you are moving in, confirm that your specific unit has a dishwasher otherwise you are doomed to a life of dish pan hands. 2. The Washer/Dryer Situation - Each building has five units. Two buildings share a single basement. Every basement has one washer and one dryer. So, ten units share a single washer/dryer. Generally speaking, I haven't had an issue with waiting. However, there have been times when it has been backed up. Also problematic is the fact that both machines cost $1.75 per load. That's still cheaper than the laundromat but it isn't really cheap. The washer and dryer are both standard residential size which means that if you want to wash a large blanket you still need to make the trek to the laundromat. Pros: 1. Recent remodeled interior - When I first moved in the hallways had a dark, dreary and severely dated wood paneling. Now the hallways are brighter, cleaner and are sporting still-new-looking commercial grade carpet. 2. Storage unit - The storage unit in the basement may not be fancy but it is a lot of space. 3. Maintenance - The property and leasing managers (two people) live on-site. The property manager is an incredibly capable jack of all trades. Snow removal is prompt. Very prompt usually. And the grass is always well kept. Any time we've had an issue it has been resolved very quickly and very efficiently. 4. Convenience - Clayton Village is five minutes away (by car)from the Binghamton University campus. It is immediately across the street from a Catholic Church and immediately next door to the Jewish Community Center (which has a fitness center, pool and a daycare). It is less than five minutes away (by car) from the university plaza which has restaurants. Being located just off of the vestal parkway gives you easy access to the rest of the triple cities, Davis College and all of the shopping in Vestal (Target, Wal-Mart, Barnes and Noble, Lowes etc). 5. Utilities - Heat, hot water and cooking gas are all included in rent. Overall, I have been very happy during my time at Clayton Village.
