Located on a peninsula in the Puget Sound, Artondale is a peaceful residential neighborhood in a breathtaking setting. Similar to other bayfront and coastal neighborhoods in Washington, Artondale is known for outdoor recreational opportunities. Find family parks like Harbor Family Park and Hales Pass Park dotted through the residential areas of the neighborhoods. Larger parks like the bayfront Kopachuck State Park and Cutts Island State Park provide residents with scenic trails, access to watersports, and more outdoor activities. Modern amenities including restaurants and shops can be found near the eastern side of Artondale along Highway 16 as well as a few cafes, restaurants, and shops gathered on the coast. Highway 16 is also home to several low-rise apartments that make up Artondale’s rental scene.

Property Ratings at Cliffside
Lived at Cliffside for many years. Noisy, dirty, outdated, overpriced, myself and others were attacked by off leash dogs (the manager Stacy new about all of these but failed to tell anyone or even kick the offender's out....gross negligence or her part), paper-thin walls, extremely creaky floors in "every" "single" "apartment", extremely high crime, manager won't higher anyone to plow the snow, stranding everyone in the lower half of the complex, only spends money on lawn care, etc....etc....etc.... Please, for the love of God, find another place to live! This place is literally a dumpster fire!
Do extensive ratings research first before renting here. This rental property is a large 300unit / 25building complex has a very high turnover rate, for a reason. The problem is strictly management that does not know, nor care, what they do regarding people skills and enforcing Leasing agreements and Real Estate property management statues. The manager does not address problems & leasing violations but instead "Projects" it back onto the renter as their fault or it’s no big deal just deal with it. Many times the manager gets very rude and demeaning for no reason in the process just to back renters off from a major issue. Major issues just get ignored, swept under the rug, and management moves on like it never happened until the renter finally just gives up and just moves out. The management never takes responsibility or accountability for their own mis-management over a large living community. The renter is totally responsible in fending for themselves when major Leasing or Fed/State violations occur in getting them taken care of, resulting in many times neighbors not getting along. “Bottom line”-- Noisy apartments, extensive auto crime, pet waste, daily pet agreement & leash law violations, speeding cars, sometimes 5-6 people living in 1 bedroom apt for a year or more above or below you, sewer gas coming out of sewer tank tubes next to apartment windows, mail box issues, old apartments in need of repair & updating. Just do your ratings homework.
DAILY car break ins, a couple of reported vehicle thefts, management will blame it on the residents and remind us not to leave valuables in the car but not actual help find a solution to the ongoing issue. They refuse to let you use cameras except in your car, they refuse to hire a security patrol that actually patrols the complex, and they refuse to fund a gate but instead worry about the “beauty” of the complex. This place is an actual joke, especially when you blame the residents. They have also been quoted saying “the faster you move out, the faster we can upgrade the apartment and get someone else in.” Very rude office manager. Now let’s talk about the apartments themselves. They do not have storage space. So no linen closets, no drawers in the bathroom, no pantries. They just paint over mold problems. And if you get a bottom floor, prepare for a mouse problem in your outside storage closet. I just can’t wait to get out of here. I hope you find somewhere else to live because this complex is not worth the trouble.
The views are fantastic, the office staff are polite and helpful. Their community website is useful. The maintenance staff are great. The views are fantastic, though not every apartment window has them. I also love the easy access to cliffside park when I want to take a walk. I've enjoyed the wood-burning fireplace. Only the A-type units come equipped with in-unit washers and dryers. Given the high price tag on all the units here, you would think that would be included on all units. There is a reason for it, the B-type units were constructed much earlier. However, given the price tags, I would think that renovations to install some form of that amenity on all units would be in order. Especially considering the added risk to communal laundry areas in the pandemic. The kitchens are usable, but on the small side. They are not equipped with microwaves and do not have much usable counterspace. The building construction quality is great. I've never had sound problems with my neighbors. You will hear the occasional maintenance job or lawn care.
The property manager is so rude, always acts like she has better things to do than to listen to a legitimate issue. I wouldn’t waste my money and time living here.
First off, the views from my apartment and even driving around the property are amazing. Second, The office staff is the best! They are so willing and happy to help. Some places really try to get every last penny out of you, or blindside you with charges, but the staff here really just wants you to be happy!
Cliffside is a decent place to live in Gig Harbor. Great wooded setting with views of Narrows Bridge, water, Mt. Rainier, etc. Management is nice to work with, great people, fairly quick to respond to maintenance requests. Very pet friendly! Only complaints: not enough parking for number of residents, overflow on the curbs as they charge for undercover parking, and garbage dumpsters get out of hand, should vet residents more about garbage & recycling to better manage flow. Otherwise, great place.
What apartment complex gives you views to die for? It's Cliffside in Gig Harbor, WA. My 2 BR has a water view overlooking the Narrows and the Narrows Bridge heading west. PLUS, a full-on, full height, unobstructed view of Mount Rainier in all its glory. When it comes to apartment view eye candy, this place would be very hard to beat. Add in the fact that it is $2-500/mo. cheaper than comparable places on the Seattle side which provide "nice parking lot" views with road noise add-ons, and this place is a no-brainer winner. Finally, the grounds are very nice and well maintained.
