I’m a working mom with a 1 year old. She was 2 months when we moved here to a 4th floor apartment with an elevator. It should come as absolutely no surprise that I would never have rented a 4th floor apartment w a new baby if there were no elevator. About 3.5 months ago the elevator started malfunctioning. We notified the management as did other tenants and it was eventually taken out of service (after weeks of dangerous feeling jolting and stalling). We were not notified of a time line for repair and after maybe 2 weeks of lugging a stroller, a baby, groceries and work gear up and down the stairs we asked for updates from the management office. We were told “it’s being worked on” and “there's a part that needs to be ordered we think”. One manager suggested that “at least [we’re] getting good exercise”. After about 6 weeks of no elevator, we wrote to the manager and asked for a partial rent credit since our agreement to rent this apartment was at least in part on the basis of accessibility. What we received was not a response from the manager but a letter from greystars lawyer stating essentially that sometimes problems occur and they are not liable for them and they don’t owe us anything including but not limited to a rent credit. But not to worry, his client “cares deeply about the residents comfort”. It took another 6 weeks (a total of ~2.5 months) for the elevator to finally come back into service. It’s been working for 2 days now. In the meantime we cancelled a visit from a family member who is wheelchair bound since there was no access for him here and continued to pay what was already a steep rent but felt like robbery considering what we were experiencing. The owner has been replying to reviews here w a promise to rectify the situation and a phone number to call. However, the phone number is to the management office secretary. Other tenants have mentioned that they believed the responses and called the number only to feel tricked once again when the secretary reports there’s nothing she can do and she doesn’t know what they’re talking about. I think this behavior is abhorrent and it’s clear that the goal is to subvert tenants’ needs and rights. I’m relieved that the elevator works but I have zero faith that it will remain working nor do I have faith that they will tend to any other issues that arise despite heavily overcharging for rent.

I have resided at Coastline for only a short time, but have only had positive experiences to this point. The building is immaculate, and I have never heard noise from any of my neighbors. Even though the location of my unit is right next to the train crossing and overlooks the 101 freeway, the triple pane windows cut down most all of the noise and it's not a nuisance for me. The view that I have far outweighs any negative from the noise.It feels like I'm on permanent vacation when I'm in my unit.

Really great location but everything else is horrible - The apartment itself is poorly built. We are the first people to live here and multiple windows no longer open/close and other things have broken. - If you need help from the leasing office good luck getting a hold of them. If you do get a hold of them, they do not fix the issue. - You will hear every move from your neighbors. It is an apartment so noise is to be expected but this is excessive. - Lots of theft and zero security in place. They claim to have cameras but they do not work.

Things don’t get fixed. The walls are really thin. AC wasn’t repaired for weeks during a heat wave. I could go on. Yes, it’s beautiful, but for the price you pay you would expect for the place not to be falling apart and management to respond to requests.

I would NEVER sign a lease here again. I have so much to say, so I’ll condense it. These were just the top 10. 1. There are roaches roaming the halls during the summer. 2. The mailroom is a mess. Good luck finding your package. 3. The office is rarely unlocked even during business hours and you’ll be lucky to get your calls answered. 4. There is a gate, but anybody can walk around it. 5. Elevators are beaten up and make screeching sounds. 6. Neighbors leave trash out at all hours of the day making the hallways smell like a dumpster. 7. We went 4 months without a heater in the middle of winter and they didn’t apologize. Zach said he apologized, but no apologies were given. 8. We hear fights regularly (we got a camera for this very reason). 9. The grounding wire was not grounded when we moved in and we got electrocuted a few times. They did not seem concerned. 10. The electrical outlets are impossible to use. When we pointed it out they essentially said, yeah, some are like that. Plug it in somewhere else. I used to work in property management, so we tried to be as patient as possible (4 whole months). We know their job must be very draining considering they have to hear people complain all day. However, we can’t believe they operate this way.

I love our maintenance team, they’re quick and reliable! And let’s not forget how friendly and hospital they are with the residents including our pets. Eric and Jose do a fantastic job answering any of my requests in a prompt and timely manner. I can’t complain at all.

Moving to Coastline was a great decision! My apartment is very well constructed with luxury features throughout. The property is gorgeous and extremely well maintained. I use the gym, pool and community center regularly. The location couldn't be better - I walk to the beach, the pier and downtown in minutes. Everyone on the staff is super friendly and accomodating. I would definitely recommend living here!

Pretty on the outside while you’re taking a tour, cheap and impossible to keep clean once you move in. Takes a lot of work to keep the place clean and everything working properly on inside and outside.

Coastline Ventura is a perfect place to live. It's new and beautiful. The technology is up to speed - from the Amazon hub to online communication and transactions. The staff is on another level compared to the neighboring properties I visited. I managed multiple 50 unit properties onsite when I was younger so I know the challenges are real and unavoidable. Top notch and professional management here. Also, staff is friendly, looks good and appear genuinely happy to be doing their jobs. It makes a difference. Ventura has perfect weather and is the quintessential beach town with character and lacking fast-food and chains mostly. The property and experience so far have been a home run. Without hesitation I can confirm I live at the best rental property in Ventura.

We love Coastline Ventura, the amenities and view is awesome! The dog park is amazing for my exotic bully. I feel like I’m on vacation when I wake up! We just wish there was a basketball court where we can play ball and view the ocean! The jacuzzi is always fun and warm! I plan on being a longtime resident here at Coastline Ventura! One of the nicest places in ventura, period. Great location across from the ocean, excellent round the clock security team, the amenities sell the place- there is a beautiful outdoor lounge area overlooking the ocean, heated pool with comfortable resort-like furniture, and a decent gym. The apartments are light-filled, and the master baths are spacious.
