Property Ratings at Colonial Crest Apartments
No I am not a tenant here nor have I ever been, however I am a single woman and after reading these reviews I ripped up the paper that I had started number one choice!! I can’t thank you enough for leaving these reviews. I will definitely skip over this one, everyone is complaining about the same issues so obviously it’s very true!! I will not waste my heart on money on ignorant and rude staff which they control your temperature in your apartment which seems And sounds like it’s always very hot! Bug problems dirtiness and I can go on and on after reading all the reviews! Once again thank you so much for these reviews I think only the positive ones were put in by the staff that’s just a hunch but a good one!
The people who work in the office are very rude and demean tenants for asking questions about why maintenance work is not yet complete. The maintenance workers themselves are very nice, but incompetent. Examples of failed maintenance include: 1. My closet door hinge broke, and as a result was hanging off of the wall. The day the maintenance worker came out to fix it, I received a phone call from the office staff asking if I replaced the lock on the door because the maintenance worker could not get in (all he had to do was push, the door was swollen from heat). When he finally got inside, he closed the pantry door, ignored the door hanging off the wall, and marked the ticket as fixed. 2. I requested my sink drain be fixed because there was a clog. They "unclogged" the bathtub drain. 3. They put air into the heater lines, but told anyone maintenance was being done on the heater and never bled the lines, so I was without heat. Since they are particularly nasty at the office, I was too afraid to submit an emergency request. 4. My thermostat broke. It took them over a week to figure out why the AC wouldn't turn on (even though I repeatedly mentioned the thermostat, I have experience in that department). When it was finally replaced, it was wired wrong and wouldn't turn the AC off. 5. My thermostat broke again, this time wouldn't turn the heat off. When it was replaced, it was wired wrong and wouldn't turn the heat on. 6. My thermostat broke yet again, and was again wired wrong and needed to be fixed twice. The location is great, the neighbors are (mostly) friendly, so that's why I gave it 2 starts. However, the office staff are degrading to tenants and you will need to submit multiple maintenance requests to have your apartment fixed.
I would like to bring public awareness to the severity of issues I experienced with this apartment complex. I lived at this apartment for 11 months prior to relocating back to Charlotte. While living in this complex, I endured countless issues with maintenance and the office, resulting in adverse health issues, and distress. The office does not respond to requests timely, verbally berates their tenants for requesting reasonable accomodations for health concerns, and creates rules that were not part of the lease. I would have gladly just put this behind me but am not being denied my security deposit for "carpet stains." I utilized area rugs on all surfaces and did not have any stains left by me and should be entitled to those funds. Yet another violation of tenant rights by a landlord who thinks they are above common courtesy and rules. Secondly, and more seriously are the conditions. The apartment complex has never replaced their ac or heaters resulting in serious temperature issues. I contacted the apartment complex 6 times, and endured temperatures over 90 degrees for days, resulting in treatment for a severe heat rash. Only after my grandfather contacted the complex due to knowing the owners did they do anything. This place is not safe or friendly. It's overpriced for what you are getting, and they take advantage of young single ladies. I would like public awareness, and if possible, refund of my security deposit as I kept my place clean and tidy and deserve those funds. If anything, they are lucky I do not sue for the conditions I was expected to endure. I will post this experience on every website and public forum to prevent anyone for renting there without advance knowledge of the treatment they should expect.
I have been renting with them for over a year started in a 2 bedroom apartment now in a townhouse.. The staff have always been friendly, respectful and great to work with. Even when repair issues come up, they are quick to respond, quick to fix and make sure I'm happy with the repair..... I truly Thank them all for that, it means a lot.. I have and will continue to recommend this place.. If I could give 10 stars I would.. Angie Teleky.......
This complex is the absolute worst place I have ever lived, They told me I couldn't see the apartment I was going to rent because it was being renovated. When I signed the lease and got the keys to my "renovated" apartment only to find it wasn't renovated at all. It wasn't even painted. Water damage in the storage area with the hvac unit. Paint on the light fixture from when they did my accent wall (the only thing they painted before I moved in) The maintenance crew told me that the splatters were from the previous painter that used a sprayer to do the walls. the day I moved out the maintenance crew was loading a paint sprayer in the truck from the apartment above that looks like that may have actually painted. I had holes and large cracks in the walls. When maint. came in to fix the cracks they managed to make it worse. They speckled the entire part of the wall instead of the area the crack was in then sanded it all the way down to where you could see the damage to the wall. They didn't even attempt to clean up the dust. I was paying for an updated kitchen and instead got a mismatched kitchen. Their crew was even going to spray paint my discolored fridge! They then put notices on your door that your dog is barking (it was the dog 3 doors down) or that shes running around the property (she has a spinal disease) needless to say she doesn't do much running. Not to mention my dog is very well trained and would not wonder away. unlike my neighbors who were very inconsiderate with their dog that was NEVER on a leash or with their kid running back and forth at all times of the day and night. The only thing this place did do was offer to replace my fridge with a black one to match my dishwasher.
At first we liked it. There were a few things maintenance had to fix. We were told the pool was included but when we moved in we were told there is a $10 fee. It is $5 per guest per day. The maintenance guys are nice but when they say 24/7 maintenance it is a lie. They control when heat or air conditioning is running. In october the elder box beetles are EVERYWHERE. We were not warned about this and they will not do anything to get rid of them. I told them when I opened my bedroom window they were getting past the screen and getting into my bedroom. I was told by the leasing office that the bugs are harmless and only come in to die. I do not care if they are harmless are not. I do not want to sleep with dead or alive beetles. I asked to have my window looked at to make sure everything was sealed properly and I was told no and to spray my screen with soapy water. During the winter are heat stopped working and cool air was coming out of the vents. For 3 weeks they refused to have maintenance look at it and we were told that is how the heat works. The third week they sent someone out to fix it. Snow removal was terrible. They started to snow in cars and plowed the snow onto and around the dumpster and did not remove it. The only reason we had a path out of our apartment was because our neighbors were nice enough to shovel one for us. When it started to get hot they still had the heat on and told us it would be another 2 weeks before the AC would be turned on. I have a dog and a cat so having an apartment above 80 degrees with no way to cool it down is unacceptable. Most recently our AC stopped working and I called the afterhours number and was told they would send someone out. 5 hours later and no one had showed up or called and my apartment had reached 90 degrees. I called again and no one showed up. The AC was not fixed until 330 pm the following day. Luckily neither my dog nor cat had a heat stroke. After it was fixed, it took 8 hours for the apartment to cool down. Afterwards I was told AC not working is not considered emergency maintenance unless we are on the medical list. It is a medical emergency for anyone when your apartment is 90 degrees and it is also very unhealthy for pets. I have had more complaints living here than any other apartment put together. The neighbors that moved in the same day we did have also had a lot of issues. The main thing we like was the washer and dryer in our unit.
I had stuff stolen from me. Management gave me 0 support or sympathy. There are plenty of other apartment communities in the Lehigh Valley where the public does not have access to your building. At Colonial Crest, anyone who wants to can walk into your building right up to your front door. Because of that, I had stuff stolen. In addition, there are no security cameras anywhere! Despite management's knowledge of theft occurring in the area, they still have not yet installed security cameras. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere where the company will invest THEIR money to your safety. You deserve it :)
If you are currently looking for an apartment in the area do yourself a favor and skip this one. I would not reccomend it to my worst enemy. It's disgustingly dirty, nothing was painted when I moved in like they said it would be. I scrubbed the appliances and vacuumed old food under the fridge and stove, grease an grime was on the light fixtures. My chandelier is filled with dead bugs since move in day. My door was dry rotted and it took them 3 weeks to fix. I had to fix numerous things on my first day here consisting of a broken lock on the window (I am ground level), cracks in the walls, and outlet hanging off the wall. They are too incompetent to lay carpet down correctly so they cut a square out and tuck it in the closets, no glue or anything to tack it down. I am constantly killing all sorts of bugs in this place) centipedes, spiders, ants). They turn air conditioning units on when they deem it necessary regardless that the tenant pays for it. They rant and rave about snow removal yet when it snowed 3 feet on a Saturday, I had to shovel a pathway to my car and along with the neighbors shoveled the entire street and cars out so that we could get to work Monday morning. Nothing was touched until late Monday afternoon. Management is too cheap to pay there maintence crew to work overtime on weekends. Noise level is ridiculous. Safety in this area is a negative. They show a model apartment to potential tenants and the real apartment look NOTHING like the model. If your looking to move here do yourself a favor and skip. I will not even ride out my lease here I would rather pay $2200 to leave then be stuck here any longer. If I could give 0 stars I would.
Very disappointed. 1200 a month and they said all snow removal is included. I shoveled for 14 hours and i didn't see one employee, subcontractor, snow blower, or even salt,, nothing from them. They ran a plow down our road one time plowing in all the cars. And that's it. This is just one complaint, the site won't allow enough room to write what I really want to say. I will not be renewing my lease I had to press one star to let me post or they wouldn't have gotten that.
Great apartment in lovely area - lots of trees and shade and grassy areas. Also very dog friendly!! Neighbors are great and the leasing staff are very helpful!!
Nice landscaping, many different floor plans, nearby shops within walking distance, and it has a nice size pool.
Colonial Crest is a modern apartment and townhouse complex that is settled nicely in a somewhat quiet and medium-sized development. I currently reside in a one bedroom apartment with my fiancé. We were very excited to move in and use the complex's pool but sad to hear that we are unable to bring any guests without paying a $5 fee. I'd love to have guests but feel silly requesting $5 that must be paid in check or money order... Leaves an awkward feeling amongst all. The pool is nice but with strict teenage lifeguards not allowing any pool toys for children. The apartment itself is fine for a couple or one person living alone. It could use some updates. Walls are very thin and we can here neighbors dogs bark which gets annoying. Dishwasher works and there is also a washer and dryer for laundry that we enjoy having in our apartment. Apartment includes trash, sewer, heat and has dishwasher and washing machines and swimming pool/ tiny fitness center $940 a month for one bedroom. Overall, we are satisfied.
Great place to live, but rent is a little high but I have two dogs so I guess it adds up! I could really use this money to help me with the rent and it would help a lot so I can focus on the bills in the apartment. Please pick me ??
