Located at the convergence of the Willimantic, Natchaug, and Shetucket rivers, Willimantic is the Algonquin Indian name for “land of the swift running water.” Willimantic is home to Eastern Connecticut State University, the Windham Textile and History Museum, and a rich history.
There are still traces of Willimantic’s storied past throughout the downtown area, where a slew of quaint businesses and restaurants line Main Street. A variety of events bring the community together in Willimantic, from the annual Boom Box Parade to the many cultural celebrations at Eastern Connecticut State University. Big-city amenities aren’t too far from Willimantic, with Hartford just a 30-minute drive away and Providence just an hour’s drive away.

Property Ratings at Colonial Townhouse Apartments
I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. You get the most disgusting and dingy apartment I've ever seen, completely useless maintenance, and unprofessional and unresponsive property management. We moved in to find black mold, leaking pipes, broken windows, cracks in our front door, and a completely uncleaned apartment. There was tupperware left in cabinets from previous tenants, urine stains in the bathroom, dirt and hair on all the walls. When contacted about these issues, maintenance was unhelpful at best and hostile at worst. They painted over the mold without addressing the root of the issues. And Katrina, the worlds worst property manager, said she didn't see the issue despite lots of photo documentation. Our cars have gotten broken into, noise complaints go ignored, it consistently takes at least 2-3 requests for any maintenance to get done. The grass is currently so tall it looks like a wheat field. And our personal favorite part is that they turn off heat and hot water with no warning, and then blame the residents for using it all. Yup. You heard me. It was once out for 24 hours and I couldn't get a response from maintenance or the office. I have never been more appalled or disgusted by an apartment in my life, and I am counting down the days until I leave this dump.
We rented a "renovated" 2 bedroom. During the walk through, everything seemed ok. After moving in, we noticed it was a cheap flip job. The flooring was not installed well, it had gaps and areas where it was lifting. We had a loose outlet that didn't work, and after a work order was put in no one came to fix it. As mentioned by others, the parking situation is not the greatest. We also noticed there were not enough recycling bins for residents, they were often overflowing and looked unsightly. The washer and dryer in the unit were very old and cheap. All in all, it was an ok place to live but make sure to look at the details when touring.
I live here and I definitely do not recommend it. My roommate and I pay renovated rent and they moved us into an apartment where NOTHING was renovated at all. Everything was old and used, a lot of things in the apartment are broken, we have a lot of issues with our bathroom since we moved in, and the office and maintenance people do absolutely nothing to help. They don’t try their best to make their tenants happy. Their favorite thing to do is ignore us. Don’t move here! - Jarimar Borges

We're sorry to hear that your experience with us has not been as you preferred; we strive to provide an exceptional experience to all our residents. Our recollections of events differ and we'd be happy to discuss them with you in more detail if you contact the office. All emails are answered with 1-2 business days so that is always a recommended method of contact if you are having trouble getting through on the phone, which has been quite busy lately.
We've lived here for almost a year and honestly the experience hasn't been that bad. The apartment is really nice (newly renovated just before we moved in) and things seem to be up to normal standards. My only complaints would be if you have more than 1 car, when you move in they tell you there are visitor spots available and you can park on the side of the lot when needed but then change their minds and leave violation stickers on your car (that aren't even filled out). There are only about 4 visitor spots for almost 6 buildings and trying to get reasoning behind why there was a violation sticker on your car is like pulling teeth. The maintenance staff are all really friendly and welcoming but the office staff treat you like you're dirt. It took them until the day before we were scheduled to move in to find us an actual apartment (almost 2 months of waiting to know if we were actually moving in or not). If you live here and only have 1 car and don't ever need anything from the office ladies, you're golden and will love this place. It is a little pricey but honestly, you get what you pay for and I really think these apartments are worth the price. Lastly, with the virus wreaking havoc on everyone, the management has been nice enough to deduct a little bit from our rent if we pay early as well as do everything they can to help people. All in all, it's a decent place to live and a good first apartment.

Thank you for your review, and the kind words about our work through the pandemic. We're sorry if there was any miscommunication about the parking spaces available and if you'd like to reach out to the office we'd be happy to look into your specific location to share any guest spaces nearby or what we can do to assist.
Make sure you know which apartment your getting before your rent. Make sure there are no bed bugs cause we had to throw everything out due to them. And there maintenance fees are outrageous. They paint their tubs and want to charge 500 for repair...lol
Absolutely the worst on safety and hazard is everywhere. Grass never gets taken care of throughout the whole summer nasty parking lots. And when it comes to the winter time never never plow snow ice is always on ground like we would get a storm, no matter how many inches we get nothing gets touched snow turns into ice my family and I have fallen on daily bases my wife broke her wrist walking toward her car and no body cares the worst management and maintenance crew. I would not even rate them with one star but I have no choice
Never Ever think about coming here. This is the worst cheating property manager I have ever seen. Her name is Katrina and she is really rude and unprofessional. We had a bug issue in our carpet. When we told the issue we were rudely asked to bring a doctor's note. When we brought one she refused to do anything. I had to complaint the housing code authority. They didn't do anything. These people are so famous for keeping your security deposit. I meant all of it. EVen you don't have an issue in the apartment you won't receive any. SO DON'T COME HERE
The manager is very rude and only wants to make money from you. They don't care about your feeling. Also, They are especially rude to international students because the manager thinks that you don't have time to go to law. For the two bedroom, it's easy to find some rats that living with you.
I want to move to these apartments because I'm a college student and they are beautiful! everything about these apartments are amazing I love it! everyone is so nice and welcoming!
