West Ashley sits within the city of Charleston and is west of the Ashley River, hence its name, and is the birthplace of Hootie & the Blowfish’s frontman, Darius Rucker. Lined with mossy oaks, the Ashley and Stono Rivers border West Ashley, creating the breathtaking scenery for which Charleston is known. West Ashley residents enjoy close proximity to the area's only indoor mall, the Citadel Mall, and a large number of big-box stores.
Situated seven miles due west of Downtown Charleston, residents can plan on a 15- to 30-minute drive, depending on traffic, to take in all downtown has to offer. Nearby Interstate 526, which feeds directly into Charleston’s Interstate Highway 26, gives residents a fast and easy route in and out of area. Mid- to late-1900s ranch-style homes characterize the housing in outer West Ashley, but neighborhoods built in the 2000s also sprinkle the area.

My situation was definitely a one off and the property mgt team brought their best efforts with each hurdle I threw at them. With many years of leases,ownership, and experience, I hadn’t faced being in the particular financial and physical situations in which I was placed. I think I was only told “no” one time in the long lists of questions I had and each answer was followed up with confidence that the options had been explored before I was given the final word. The ladies truly worked hard to make me comfortable in my home choices and were outstanding in exploring what all they could make happen with my particular circumstances. Except the location nothing is good about this apartment. Old buildings, issues with theft on premises, worn out appliances, lot of additional fees along with your rent. I wanted to add my husband to the email list and I was asked to pay a price even though we rent a 2 bedroom apartment!! Most of the reviews you see are from their internal people so I would not trust them.

The apartments are vary spacious. My family and I have enough furniture to fill a two story house and we fit comfortably in a 2 bedroom apartment. Our neighbors are absolutely amazing and full of southern hospitality. If we do have a maintenance problem the maintenance crew are quick to respond. This is also the first apartment that I've been able to leave patio furniture outside without getting any damage from outside elements. Lastly, we are located next to so many restaurants and shopping. In my opinion living in this apartment is better than homeownership.
The apartment is located in an ideal location for quick travel to anywhere in Charleston while being set back from the road enough to seem more quaint. They have been doing many renovations to keep the apartments and the complex up to date including painting the outsides and upgrading the kitchens. The two pools offer a nice place to cool off in the summer heat, although I would prefer a gate that isn't locked for someone who likes to swim at night. Also the single grill with rules prohibiting personal grills does make it more difficult for the barbecue aficionado. The staff has seemed friendly enough and will work with issues you might have. The floor plans are open and unique which allow for creativity. I've herd about potential flooding on ground floors, but I've been lucky enough to live on the second floor and can't comment to that. I feel with a few more outdoor amenities this community has the potential to be a great place to call home.
With the most charming apartments and cozy living rooms with fireplace there is anywhere else I rather be living ! Left the crazy Miami for the southern hospitality of Charleston and Colonial Village caught my eyes right away, amazing facility with white towels and sanitizer sin the gym 24hrs! Clean landscape two pools with barbecue area and brand new wood deck, no more burning my toes ! The apartment is amazing with 900sqft under a thousand dollars a month and five star place ! Plenty closet space and open kitchen area I'm in love ! The office staff are the most charming and are always at help . I would recommend this place for ever !
