As one of the major economic centers of Alabama and one of the signature cities of the Southeast, Birmingham has done an impressive job of adapting to the new demands of the 21st century. The city that once built a reputation as the “Pittsburgh of the South” thanks to a robust steel manufacturing industry is now a hip community attracting entrepreneurs, artists, and innovative personalities. Birmingham remains one of the most active business hubs in the region, with headquarters for everything from banks to biotech firms operating in the city.
The dining, nightlife, and entertainment scenes have all grown rapidly in recent years, and just about everyone in town has an opinion about where to find the best brewery. Gorgeously preserved historic buildings and a pervasive attitude of down-home hospitality have kept Birmingham’s famous southern charm intact as well, creating a unique environment where the best elements of the traditional and the modern complement each other.

Property Ratings at MAA Trussville
I have only been here for a month. I have had a few issues however I must say they have been taken care of. The maintenance team Blake, Johnny, Sidney and one more that I haven’t met has been very helpful. The property manager is a nice lady. Get to know her yourself before you judge. The office team is there to help you with any questions. It is so quiet here that I forget I live in an apartment. Awesome!!!

I have never lived here, but my wife and I were considering it when we were looking for an apartment. I was shocked at how great the costumer service was. Megan went over and beyond to help us. My wife and I decided to go with something a little more renovated though. I would highly recommend talking to Megan for anyone interested in apartments in the area.

Hi, thank you for your kind review and recommendation; we are happy to pass along your comments to Megan! We wish you the best!
We love CVT! We have lived here over 5 years. Grounds and property are very well maintained. Office staff are amazing!
Had bad experience with the manager of the property who will ignore your emails and not do anything about the concerns you have. The front office staff is nice and friendly. The gate is useless because it doesn't keep non-residents out, but it will keep you in if you are on a motorcycle, because it won't open for you.
I am very satisfied with my apartment home as far as living conditions. Its a little expensive and I'm not always surrounded by up standing neighbors due to section 8 renters. Many do not keep normal working hours and they discard trash in the parking areas and entrances to the the buildings.
Good experience so far
I love the complex. Only issues are the pool was closed pretty often this summer for maintenance issues. Also, when you call maintenance for issues, they often have to come back more than once because they don't take time to diagnose correctly the first time.
My overall experience with this apartment complex has been pleasant. I have been here for a few years. The apartment complex property is nice, and the staff is wonderful. The selection process of the tenets in the last couple of years have been very questionable. These are my personal complaints about the apartment. It?s sad to adults throwing trash on the ground, dog poop everywhere, and dogs not on a leash. I have also seen adults smoking marijuana outside the apartments and inside their cars. I have noticed 3-bedroom apartments being rented and the tenet has like 10 people living in the apartment. It?s beginning to feel like a public housing community, but the rental rates are for an upscale luxury apartment. I understand some things are out of the property?s control, but it really makes the value of the property go do down when you have tenets that don?t care. If the property would get a handle on the issues above this complex would be awesome.
Overall, I like it here. The layout of my 2 bedroom is very roomy and there is lots of storage. If it were my own property, I would put in a new stove and install a microwave over the stove. The cupboards and countertops need to be replaced as does the linoleum throughout. I would like a ceiling fan in the second bedroom. The outside staircase railings and front doors to each apt need to be painted. I just wish people would pick up their trash. Otherwise, I am pretty happy here, no really bad complaints at all. I would recommend this complex to others. By the way, thank you for installing a new refrigerator for me.

It?s been ok when assistant property Manager Jonathan is involved. Also the maintence team is quick and polite.
ENJOY FEELING SAFE AND CONVENIENT TO LOCAL SHOPPING BUSINESSES. NEAR THE MAJOR INTERSTATE FOR COMMUTE. LOW NOISE LEVELS.
Quiet environment inside and outside. Spacious, clean apartment. Speedy maintenance requests. Safe complex.
It?s been pleasant so far.
Nothing but good things thus far and everything is well
The property managers know me by name, and they are always helpful and courteous with any issue that comes up. All of my neighbors are friendly and polite. The facilities (grounds, laundry room, pool, clubhouse, etc.) are always well-maintained.
Friendly, service is good. Grounds very clean.

Thank you for letting us know about your recent experience with our staff. We take feedback like this very seriously, and it helps us tremendously, as we are constantly trying to improve the level of service we provide our residents.
When i moved in my apartment was not clean, Hair painted into the walls and paint on door knobs, tub just spray painted with plastic cover, tooth left in medicine cabinet, paper was still down in kitchen and bathrooms from painting. I lived here for two years, rent went up with no improvements to the apartment. Did not feel safe, people always following me into the gate(which also was broken for 3 months with no updates to us), my car was attempted to be broken into. While I lived there a domestic dispute happened and someone was stabbed to death. Look it up. Find somewhere else to live! It is not in trussville limits - considered Irondale.
I used to live at this apartment complex but had to relocate to another state. My experience there was great. The office personnel was nice and informative. The maintenance guys were responsive and took care of my request in a timely matter. Property is well kept. I moved there because it was gated although sometimes it gets backed up. But it's a gated community and to be expected. I sometimes would see their officers patrolling the property. It made me feel comfortable and safe. I really enjoyed the 2 years I lived there.
I moved into a run down unit a few years back because I had to quickly settle in one.The apartment had a smoker before me but I did not complain to the front office like I should have. The management had changed companies while we were halfway thru our lease and came in and spent a lot of money on trimming trees and painting the outside of the units instead of using the resources to renovate the very run down apartments. My particular unit had awful smoke problems such as yellow residue always on the walls and every piece of cloth would smell like smoke. The apartment also had holes and stains in the carpet before I moved in along with the kitchen and bathrooms cheap flooring being peeled up in places. After me leaving the management had put the blame all on me and sent a pic of a dang post it with writing saying I owe them for all carpet and kitchen flooring when all of it was tore up before I moved in and actually look neglected and at least 10 years old very dirty and stained with holes. They failed to inform me other than a post it note which is very unprofessional instead they just sent it to collections agency.(maybe they actually sent a real document to them) I would never recommend this beat down place to anyone especially the way the management is trying to con their responsibility on me instead of change the old and outdated flooring themselves.
The complex appears modern and safe but looks can be deceiving. My son was pistol whipped and robbed while waiting for a friend outside our apartment. The Irondale police have to be contracted to provide security because crime in the area has gotten so bad.
This is a good place to live. It's outside of the city. It's in a nice location next to a strip mall & the highway. Management keeps the complex clean, as well as the pools & tennis court.
The Colonial Village of Trussville is a beautiful place to live. The staff is very courteous and are eager to help with any problems a resident is having. The pool and tennis courts are maintained very well and show a sense of pride in the community. I have a one bedroom, one bath apartment that provides just the right amount of space. It has a few minor discrepencies, like the bottom baseboards around the bathroom sink being what looks to be dry rotted but other than that is a great place to live. Havent had a single problem here.
This is a great location within walking distance to all types of fast food and restaurants. The common areas are well maintained. It has a large courtyard with a pool, lounge chairs and play ground for the kids.
