I literally just called to find out about the 3 bedroom it shows available and coming available. The lady on the other line was very rude. I don't have any specific time frame to need a place, just a simply inquiry about information and a possible tour. She got crappy saying she has 26 applications on a waiting list. Seriously who ever hired her, she is turning away potential renters asking simple questions. I wasn't aware there must be a cap on applications.
This complex doesn't get the credit it deserves. The office and staff are wonderful to work with. They are fast and polite, efficient and kind. They do great work and I've never had to wait on stuff to get fixed. If it's an emergency they get someone right out. But I requested more mulch which is obviously no where near an emergency and with in 48 hours I got new mulch. I love living here at Colony Bay Apartments and have no plans on moving out any time soon. I just wish more people saw this place the way I do.
I’ve been living here for about two years and I have to say that I’m extremely satisfied. It’s safe and quiet where I live in my townhouse with my mother. And the staff has always been friendly the only issue I have occasionally is my bedroom window is by the covered parking area. So sometimes you get loud cars or people other than that I’ve had no issues!
I've been here for 3 years, and I'm happy I'm finally moving. Just a few weeks ago, there was a shooting that took place not too far from my doorstep. And here it is two weeks later and that door still has bullet holes and a big muddy bootprint. Back in May of 2017, a lady cussed my 5 yr old daughter out for ringing her doorbell three times to play with her little girls inside. I walked over to ask her not to cuss at my daughter but to come get me instead. Went to walk away and she grabbed me by my hair. And started a fight. Keyed my car the next day. Then that same day put a restraining order on me. It's all just one big headache. From the maintenance work being done incorrectly to the drama..its just not worth it.
This is a great apartment for middle income people and families. It is a nice area, near shopping and work and a very low crime rate. The apartment is very spacious and well maintained.
My building is a locked entry and security camaras which makes me feel very safe. The staff and maintance staff are wonderful to work with. I have been here 9yrs and resently signed a 2 yr lease. Very happy here. Within 5 miles of restaurants, shopping of all kinds, pretty much anything you need or want is within the 5 miles. They have an outdoor and indoor pool both are kept very clean. They have a club house with pool tables and can be rented for parties. They have several play areas throughout the complex. The have tennis courts and ponds. A fitness center at the club house. The doors open early for the fitness center. Great area with city bus service as well as school buses.
Very friendly staff and neighbors. Easy access to a swimming pool, workout room, and laundry room.
I lived there for a year and had no issues. Loved the indoor and outdoor pool. Friendly staff. The security deposit return was a minor issue but over all loved it and I would be willing to live there again.
If you are looking for a budget friendly apartment that is of slightly above average quality this is the apartment complex for you. The apartments are generally well kept and clean with minor issues due to typical wear and tear. Maintenance is only available until 4:30 throughout the week unless there's an emergency. I think it'd be nicer if they had a maintenance person available from morning til night. There are lots of amenities available which is nice. Overall a 3 out of 5.
I think this is a nice place to live. Most of the tenants are decent and respectable. The noise level is usually kept to a minimum. The indoor and outdoor pools are nice too.
First, I will admit that for the price, it is what it is! After giving my 30 day notice as required, I moved out when my lease was up. I cleaned my apartment from top to bottom, thoroughly. I expected to lose $95 of my security deposit: $75 for a professional carpet cleaning (ha-ha) and $20 for 4 drip pans. My apartment was a 2-bedroom Townhouse. I spent 95% of my time upstairs. I am a single 60 yr old woman. Long story short this company took over half of my security deposit for what they claim is for replacement of the living room carpet- $220(for stains that their carpet man says they would not be able to remove) plus an additional $30 for cleaning other rooms. The "professionals" did not try to clean it according to the Property Manager. "They looked at it and reported that it had to be replaced." With that info, this company returned to me $245 of my $495 security deposit. After speaking with the Property Manager and not being satisfied, I attempted to get the owner's contact info only to be told that "any matters to be discussed would be handled by the Property Manager because he is the TOP DOG and that is who I would have to deal with."
My husband and I recently relocated to Ft. Wayne from Wisconsin and were looking for a place that was centrally located and a great price. Overall Ft. Wayne's cost of living is fantastic compared to what we are used to. We are very pleased with the staff from Colony Bay, from the maintenance to the office staff, everyone is very kind and willing to help however they can. Although the property is older, and of course with age, comes some flaws that are structural and can not be fixed. However, it is nothing major or that should deter you from considering this property as your potential home. There are a number of amenities available that are great for kids as well as adults: Indoor pool, outdoor pool, clubhouse and fitness center are just a few of the great things that Colony Bay has to offer. One of the things that really attracted us was the property itself. It is HUGE! Making plenty of space to explore and have fun. The only down side I would have to say is that there is no laundry facilities on the first floor of the apartment buildings (just second, third, and fourth (if applicable)) and the bathroom has only one outlet that is on the underside of the vanity. Other than those small features we are VERY pleased and would recommend Colony Bay to anyone!

I am grateful for this opportunity to live at Colony Bay Apartments; perfect for this season of my life. The price is incredible in light of the market rents for apartment living. I have a great view, perfect amount of space for 1 and my 2 cats. Apartment managers are awesome at their jobs and very accommodating. Maintenance is fast, efficient, and respectful of space. Fitness facility and pool(s) are a huge bonus. Neighbors are usual folk with no-hassle shared living. Laundry is easy to use and available at reasonable times. Great location for access to shopping, gasoline, and eateries.
This place is terrible. My wife and I cant wait to move. Snow removal is pathetic, as well as taking care of the grounds. Employees speed through the parking lots all the time and park on sidewalks. Their excuse of a laundry facility is appalling. We have swam in the indoor pool once and that was one to many times. Chunks of hair were in the pool. All in all i rue the day we moved into this place!
Great place to live! Close to everything, not expensive, and friendly staff. Never had a problem that went unanswered with very quick response.

I am a single mother and have lived at Colony Bay for almost 8 years. I love it here! The location is great. The price is amazing and my rent only went up once in my 8 years here and it was only by $10. I have never felt unsafe, even with the recent robberies in apartment complexes in town. I know the staff all lives here so this is their home too. That makes me feel better. Maintenance is always professional and timely. The office staff is really friendly. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to watch their wallet and still feel safe.
