Property Ratings at Colony Club Apartments
This was my favorite apartment in eight years of renting in Columbus. Quiet, pretty, and with an excellent location. The complex is well maintained and the pool area is a very pleasant amenity. Management is friendly, responsive, and easier to work with than any other real estate company I've encountered. I'd recommend Colony Club to anyone.
Property Manager at Colony Club Apartments, Responded To This Review
We are humbled by your kind review! Thanks you so much for making Colony Club Apartments part of your time here in Columbus! We wish you all the best, and look forward to the next time we see you if every you’re in Columbus again!
My husband and I have been here for three years, and just renewed for another year. The Colony Club is an awesome neighborhood, very quiet, safe and clean, especially the maintenance and arrangement team. They are responsible and always ready to help.
I lived here for 3 years. The management takes the least responsibility for anything. I specifically asked Greg, the manager, to let me know if I had left anything behind and I realized indeed I had left several dishes in the stove drawer and when I contacted them he said: “Thank you for contacting us regarding your items. Unfortunately the items that you described were discarded. We're sorry for the loss, but you can understand that we cannot be responsible for items left after every move out. We hope that you are enjoying your new place!” They have a long list of things that you will be charged for if they are damaged but they did not bother calling or emailing me about my dishes and just threw them away. Also, their washers are gross. I sent pictures of the sludge inside the rings and they said they had tried cleaning them but it would not go away. I had to wipe it every single time to get the excess off and they could’ve simply changed those. Also they only have 2 washers and dryers for one entire building (1220) and they are very often both busy and are not cleaned as evident by all the dirt all over them. The pool is dirty, I used it only twice in 3 years. There are leaves and bugs all over the place and my friend had to once clean all of it using their net which was their responsibility. I also found BED BUGS in my laundry and they refused to accept it came from their laundry facility and I had to go through three rounds of bed bug treatment and buy $200 worth of bed bug-proof mattress covers. They are very expensive for what you get and the management is not good. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!!!
Property Manager at Colony Club Apartments, Responded To This Review
We are sorry that an otherwise good rental experience has turned on our tenant forgetting he left behind “several dishes”. Such a negative, distorted and public review compels us to submit our side of the story. The “long list” our tenant, Siavash, referenced is actually our Move Out Inspection checklist we give to all vacating residents in order to help them avoid charges to their security deposit. All we ask is that the apartment be returned to us as clean at move out as it was at move in – normal wear and tear excepted. Siavash did receive a full refund of his deposit. Our apartments are in high demand during the busy summer turnover season and on average we make apartments ready for move in 5 days after they are vacated. The Move Out Inspection checklist clearly states that “Any possessions left in the apartment will be considered abandoned and removed or otherwise disposed”. Siavash contacted us 33 days after moving out. Regarding our commercial grade LG washing machines we grant that buildup can occur on the rubber rings around the opening of the machines. They are routinely cleaned by our maintenance team. We do recall Siavash reported seeing bed bugs in a laundry room, however, we were never able to confirm the presence of any bedbug activity either in the laundry room or the tenant’s apartment. We take any reports of bedbugs extremely seriously. The last thing we want is an infestation to develop. It is a time consuming process for both tenant and landlord to eradicate such a problem. If Siavash would have let us know he was considering spending anything, let alone $200, on mattress covers we would have provided them to him for free. Regarding the pool – it is an outdoor pool. Trees are nearby. Leaves don’t normally fall during the summer, but sometimes happens. Outdoor pools are subject to non-water particles descending into them. However, maintenance routinely cleans the pool 7 days a week. Just not 24-hours per day. Our pool is well attended. We have to doubt the description Siavash has given or we would have expected to see bugs all over the place – or someone to have reported such a thing. We regret that our former tenant felt he needed to post his review. We take our responsibilities as a landlord seriously and take pride in what we do. A lot of people choose us as their home and agree that we are priced well and offer substantial value for the money. We’d welcome the opportunity to show you around. Sincerely, Colony Club Management
Colony Club offers a comfortable living space with a peaceful atmosphere of mostly young professionals. Within walking distance to COTA buslines and there is a Kroger and Meister's bar (and the best pizza in Columbus) literally right next to the complex which is really nice! The staff is one of the biggest selling points for the apartment complex - always willing to help and friendly. Plus the best tour of all the complexes I looked at. Nice pool! Plenty of parking. Definitely recommend.
It's a nice quit apartment complex. Full of young graduate students. The leasing manager is strict and often unrealistic. Rooms are carpeted and cleaned once a year. Pool is excellent and well maintained. Price is relatively cheap for Grandview. Great Neighborhood.
As a newcomer in Columbus, Colony Club has given me a cozy place to live in. The room is quite large and I love my walk-in closet. The location is very convenient not only close to school, but also to the grocery stores, restaurants and even cinema. The manager is so friendly and the maintenance is always efficient. Great neighborhood!
