At the heart of Missouri, Columbia is truly one of America’s greatest college towns. The University of Missouri sits right at the center of the city, and generally serves as the cultural hub for the wider community. Locals, whether connected directly to the university or not, regularly visit campus for sporting events, concerts, gallery exhibitions, lectures, and more. Just north of campus, Downtown Columbia features a thriving mix of coffee shops, restaurants, nightclubs, taverns, and performance venues, largely catering to the huge numbers of students from Mizzou, as well as the smaller Stephens College and Columbia College.
Of course, the community extends well beyond the collegiate environment at the city center. The University of Missouri Health Care system is the second-biggest employer in town, so the community of healthcare professionals in town is quite extensive. The cost of living is quite affordable, and there are numerous apartments and rental homes to fit any budget.

Hi there! Thank you for leaving us a review. We are happy to have you here! Keep an eye out on your email or our social media for any events that may be coming up!
I have to say, I am also very confused as to why this community doesn't have better reviews. Let me start off by saying that, I am pretty picky when it comes to where I live and the conditions of the space for the price. With that being said, I can be pushy and persistent. Despite this, they have been more then accommodating over the past Month. When I decided to look here, I first spoke with Kennedy, she is charismatic and always has an amazing attitude. Kennedy was full of information and forthcoming with it before I even stepped foot in the community, which I appreciated. She helped answer my questions and bore with me while I was making my decision. When I toured, I had the pleasure of getting Victoria, she is one of the most empathetic and sweet people I have met in the Conventional Housing Community in Columbia. She showed care, understanding, and patience for me and my situation in one of the hardest periods of my life. I appreciate that more then she will ever know. You can tell both ladies truly care for the people they rent to. The apartments themselves are well maintained, a great size, and good cleanliness for the price. The grounds and amenities within the community are well maintained as well which is huge! I did have some maintenance issues when I moved in, but they have been taken care of and the continuous issue, is in the process of being resolved. Which brings me to my next point. Their maintenance team is wonderful. Not only are they sweet but you can tell they truly care about what they do, and they do it very well. Especially, Carlos and Matthew. Not only are they efficient, but they also stop to talk with you and check in to see if everything is still going ok. The community is cozy, quiet, and tucked away but the customer service/just being good human beings really make the community feel more like home. Let me end with this, it is not about where you rent, it is about the people you rent from.

We moved in in late July and so far everything is going good. We love the affordability and the friendless and efficiency of staff. There are situations that may be out of staff’s control though that I wish they handle better in the future (neighbors smoking indoors, neighbors playing music too loud), but things are looking up!

These apartments are great affordable housing. The one bedroom doesn’t feel too cramped for my partner and I along with our cat. All the staff has been great to work with and we appreciate the various lease length options.

Even Columbia Crossing met all expectations. The office is agile. The apartments are organized. The only time we needed maintenance, it was agile. So far, we have nothing to complain about.

Columbia Crossing has been a home for my husband and I for almost a month now. The community is very organized and clean, the people are friendly and respectful. In addition, the community is very well located and the staff is very kind, especially Mrs. Kennedy.

Hi, we are so pleased you enjoyed your visit to Columbia Crossing! We are always more than happy to assist you if anything else comes up. Take care!
I have resided here for almost 5 years now and overall it has been a positive experience. The office staff are friendly and answer all your questions or concerns. Maintenance answers all requests promptly. I have had a couple emergency calls and they were here in less than an hour. The complex has been working on updating things. In my opinion this feels like one if the safest apartment communities in Columbia.

Thank you again for taking the time to let us know how we did. We hope you have a great day!
The move in was smooth and setting up services was easy and straightforward. The staff is always very helpful and willing to work around issues if they arise. They are very kind and do care deeply about your comfort in their apartments. Any maintenance issues are easily reported and often completed the same day. The other tenants in the building are also kind and open to their neighbors. The pool is always clean and extremely well taken care of. The staff also throw parties and different events/activities to bring the community closer. The only major complaint I would have to say about Crossings would be that the front entrance gate is commonly left open 24hrs.

Hello, we're glad to hear you enjoyed your visit. If you're ever in need of more help, please let us know!
I was not looking for a fancy place by any means in moving here. However, over the past year I have become increasingly unhappy with the management. Last night was the final straw. Urine leaked through the ceiling in a steady stream and soaked all of my things before I could get a bucket underneath it. Emergency maintenance did arrive. He wiped things down with a towel, which again thanks, not the most sanitary... but okay. I asked if they were going to repair the ceiling and they said we can if you want. I was kind of shocked because yeah... I think it should be aired out so mold doesn't arise. But yes I did request for it to be fixed. When I spoke with management the next day they were COMPLETELY unapologetic. They were not concerned that my belongings were now soaked in urine. They did not offer to clean it at all. They didn't apologize at all. I am stuck cleaning up the urine from all over my bathroom from the tenant above me. It's disgusting. Shame on this apartment complex for not taking better care of the tenants and above all else not showing an ounce of compassion for a situation that is their fault. This is just one experience. There are other additive reasons that I have come to dislike this apartment complex. I know it's cheap but I would advise choosing another complex before moving here.

Hi there - thank you for leaving a positive review!
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Been living here for 2 years now. The lease states that all pet owners must pick up after their pets. I live on the bottom floor so it gets infuriating when pet owners don’t clean up after their pets and I see poop right in front of my window. I can’t even open my window without poop lingering through. They don’t enforce the rules. We keep our pet on a leash as per the lease agreement. A lot of dog owners here do not. My dog has been charged at multiple times by the same dog who is never on a leash and the front office isn’t doing anything to enforce any of their policies. We have a lot of issues with our apartment and maintenance has not fixed our issues, which I only blame the front office for lack of communication, which is another issue.

Hi, We regret to hear that your recent experience was anything less than exceptional. A reminder is sent to all residents that they are responsible for their pets. If we are able to identify residents who are not following the rules they are held responsible. We take issue like this very seriously. We appreciate you bringing this experience to our attention. If you are willing, please contact us at (573) 474-6137 so we can work towards a resolution. We look forward to hearing from you.
The staff was incredibly rude. They misplaced a package of mine worth a little over $100 and claimed they were not held liable. The neighbor directly beneath me had a psychotic break, punched out the window, and was standing outside in underwear covered in blood when I came home from class one day. On a separate occasion, I had a man crawl out from underneath my car one morning despite the fact that the parking lots were gated and there are so called security officers guarding the premises. Luckily the man did not harm me. Lastly, one weekend there was a plumbing emergency that left three buildings without water for an entire weekend. It is extremely over priced for what you will get. Take my advice and find another place to live.
We moved in and things were okay for a bit, but then our downstairs neighbor harrassesd constantly about out 13 lb beagle puppy running acrossed the carpet. We tried our best to stop her from running but we always got called on (which they found nothing) and several times she came up banging on our door and floors. When finally adressed by staff, they told us we were following the rules and they would handle her. A month later she starts blaring music so loud it shakes our floor boards everytime the dog trots across the carpet. The office solution was to call on her everytime she did it. We only called twice because she would turn the music down and ignore security. She would then wait for them to leave and start it again. We were afraid to even walk in our own apartment so we ended moving a momth early and we asked if there was anyway we could maybe pardon the last months rent since we moved to get away from the harrassment. We were told that we caused just as many problems even though followed all the rules and only got a noise violation bc the dogs bark collar batteries died while we were at work and something spooked her. We will no longer be renting apartments due to this experience. Not to mention there are cracks on all of the walls making you feel like the place is going to fall on top of you. I personally have fallen down the back stair cases and recieved injuries for which I had to go to the hospital for. The carpets are disgusting no matter how many times you use a carpet cleaner on them and you can't even vacuum or clean the carpets without being harrassed by the downstairs neighbor even if its only 12 in the afternoon.
This place is horrible and they like to harass residents who stay there. Their garbage disposals always stink up the apartment and there is an infestation of gnats that happen to live in your apartment with the residents until the summer is over. Their gnats should pay rent through out the summer because they take over the apartment. You cant even enjoy the apartment because if you laugh or happen to pass gas too loud, the neighbors will call security 88 on you. There is always something going on in Columbia Crossing apartments. Mold growing from carpets, waterfalls in the hallway, weird noises from weird neighbors, a weird tapping inside the walls and the walls look like they are going to cave in or split apart. There is open holes which has weird insects and bugs crawling out of them, half of the apartments looses electricity and the don't refund money back to those who loss their food from the electricity going out, toilets are always backed up and the bathroom walls feel like they are closing in on you. I don't recommend this place to anyone. The only thing nice about this place are the gates and the pool.
