Property Ratings at Columbus Station Apartments at Town Center
After living here for over two years, my experience overall was not great. First year was okay, only had one or two maintenance requests that happen and were resolved. The second year was horrible for multiple reasons. Sinks were leaking, fridge leaked, and dryer kept making loud noises. It seemed like the appliances had a one year limit to function properly. Small place for a high price, only good thing about it is location but since there are plenty other rental properties in the area, find somewhere else better! This place is not worth the hassle or the extreme move out charges, including normal wear of carpets.
I just want to thank Christy F.. leashing agent for Columbus Station Apartments. You set the bar high from the first phone call. Once my daughter and I came to take a look at the complex we fell in love with the unit!! Christy was wonderful, we were ready to move in!! I Unfortunately, I wasn’t approved and I want you all to hear this.. it had nothing to do with the complex it was my rental history from 3 years ago. I accept that but the kindness and heartfelt disappointment that Christy had for me and my daughter will never be forgotten! Christy you are a treasure!! There was another young lady in the office that evening who was so awesome with my daughter!! What a great team!! You guys made us so excited to move into Columbus Station!! Looking forward to seeing in the near future Christy!!! Thank you for all of your kindness and genuine concern for me and Taylor. I highly recommend this complex .. for me to right a review and not approved to move in should say a lot! Also, I’m a real person not just someone writing a fake review!!

Columbus Station has been home to my son, my husband and it has been one to me as well. Most of the office staff are nice, as well as the security staff. Most of them are welcoming and helpful. A few, like Joe, would ask if we need help throwing out the trash, or even bringing things up the steps. They are almost always prompt when it comes to something needing to get fixed; sometimes within hours. From our experience living here, there is always some type of deal for renewing the lease, like new light fixtures or even carpet cleaning. The rental price is decent for the area, considering the location and maintenance. The schools are great, even though I only experienced Thalia Elementary School as a volunteer, but I did hear great things about the High School, not very much about the middle school. We only had two water bug experiences in this apartment, the last one being in 2012. We do experience spiders, but not many. Then there's the very few and random unknown bugs we would see once in a blue, that are pretty small and cool looking (I usually just put them back outside). We never experienced ants until now, but that was due to the recent hurricane warning winds and really rainy weather, I'm guessing. The ants are gone now though. Our apartment is 900 square feet. It is a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment, one of the bedrooms being a master with a walk in closet. The living room is a bit on the small side, but it is just right for us. I love the balcony and the storage closet as well, definitely a plus. The appliances are great, as long as you remember to run a monthly cycle on the dishwasher if you are not using it. We learned that the hard way back in 2010 when we were wondering why it smelled like spoiled eggs in the house. It was the dishwasher. I threw a dishwasher pack and wallah, the smell was gone. As a pedestrian, I love the fact I can walk to town center, Pembroke Mall, Kmart, Michaels, the elementary school, etc. Also there are plenty of buses to catch to go to different locations. Right now, there is a plan on expanding the rail to go down all the way to the beach. Can't wait for that day to come. Overall, we pretty much are fond of this location.
The Columbus Station apartments in Virginia Beach are fantastic! The complex has a great, clean appearance and the employees provide excellent customer service. My roommate and I viewed multiple apartments beforehand, and we just didn't get a good vibe, but the second we viewed one of the Columbus Station apartments, we were immediately sold and signed our lease the same day! I have nothing bad to say about these apartments!!
This apartment community is right at the heart of the VA Beach Town Center. A variety of restaurants, shopping avenues, movie theatre, a gym and the Pembrooke mall are right next door. The ocean front is not too far away either. The apartment community is well maintained and service requests are promptly attended to. The only negatives I would mention are that the overall living space is not as big as some of the other communities in the area and some units tend to have patios facing into other units without much separation rendering the patios almost unusable.
Great location and quiet setting nestled behind Virginia Beach town center. Nice pool area and grounds generally kept up well. Sales staff extra friendly whereas service staff would rate as average. The maintenance staff are above average though. Despite the increasing rental rates, overall a nice place to reside.
