Property Ratings at Commons at Potomac Square
This place became bad. Talked to a few neighbors and all say that new changes are bad. One neighbor is already planning to leave in early summer (depending on coronavirus event) because he doesn't like changes. New company and new office manager (Rebecca) came in Jan 2020. Bad changes. The neighbor that's leaving says he doesn't trust Rebecca or new company (Bonaventure). I will be leaving also. I've been here a few years and saw many changes, this is worst. Old company use to mention changes or events by posting flyers, mailing letters and/or by putting letters on our doors. Now we're told to only check email or online. But even when we check, they don't do a good job of sending notices ahead of time. Maybe they want to hide some changes. To many bad things to write everything here. About some of the changes, one neighbor asked Rebecca and he tells me she said, "I don't care what they use to do or how they use to do things." But we're stuck because of lease. We need another company or another office manager or someone to work with Rebecca. There use to be two people in office. Now new company cut it to one, only Rebecca. Also, some neighbors pay online or some pay by check, but everyone liked having the bill mailed to them. No more mailed bills. Seems company is cutting costs. We're not happy but they want to cut costs. Bad.
Good Afternoon Bainbridge Management, For the first time in nearly two decades I've rented an apartment. Its been a little hard at Potomac Square because there is no club room or onsite gym facility that typically give residents a sense of community. However, I'm a huge believer in great customer service which you definitely have. Yocasta, Barbara and Charlie are simply fantastic for many many reasons. Always professional, consistent smile on their faces when I know some days are not as good as others, property always clean, whenever a problem its almost fixed immediately. Those are only a few reasons. Icing on the cake, I mentioned the lack of resident activities to Ms. Nunez and she happily told me thirty days ago "trust me" Bainbridge is different, we are making changes to create that community". Its not what she said and I'm not even sure I believed her at the time. Its how she said it. I knew she really wanted to make a change for us and I appreciated just that! Funny, I had NO idea how serious Ms. Nunez was about making residents at Potomac Square get to know each other and maybe even know each others names! Allowing Potomac Sq. activities is amazing! I'm actually excited! At a time when I'm sure you hear complaints regularly, thought it might be nice to see the opposite for a change. Fantastic job on training your team but even better job on selecting people with heart! Lisa
I have been here for a little over a year. Love, love, love! Geat apartment. New appliances, stainless steal. Quiet. Excellent location. Starbucks, noodles and company, Mashalls, grocery, postoffice, etc all within walking distance. Office manager Randy is great.. I look at serveral apartments and im so happy we chose this one.
I was a resident at Potomac Square for 3 years. First year I moved in the management said that water was free. Then they took it away couple months later. I ended up having to pay $40 per month for water. That's ridiculous. The flooring sucks. I kept hearing from the people upstairs running and walking. I couldn't enjoy a peaceful weekend because of all of the motorcycle training classes every weekend. Potomac Square do not clean up during winter time. I fell last winter and was in hospital for couple of weeks. I lost my job due to this injury. After I informed Potomac Square management Randy regarding moving out. He told me okay and to expect my refund of deposit within 2-3 weeks. After I followed up with him for 2 long months, he told me that I owe him money instead. My experience is horrible with Potomac Square. Be smart and don't live there. Within 3 years of living there, I see neighbors moving in and out all the time. They never come in to replace my carpet or repaint for 3 years! I had to endure this madness for 3 years because I'm on assistance living arrangement. I'm glad I'm out of there and I will never go back there again. Worst apartment EVER! If I can give a zero star, I would.
In my opinion, this is my wife and I best apartment experience to date. Previously, we lived in Camden landowne Virginia, where they over charged us, the appliances broke down every other week, and the staff was quite rude to us. However, at Potomac square, we have not had any of these problems. Plus, the maintaince on the apartment has been fantastic. And we enjoy it's super close to stores, restaurants, libraries, etc., that we frequently visit. Thanks so much, Potomac Square!
I was just looking for the property address to pass along to a friend moving to VA and I was surprised to read the negative comments. I lived at Potomac Square a little over a year ago and as apartment complexes go I don't think you can do any better. The apartment was spotless, like brand new, when I moved in and everything was in good order. I have 2 fairly big dogs so I wanted a first floor unit and yes the noise from the apartment above was sometimes a bit excessive. But it's an apartment complex... I didn't expect the quiet solitude you get with a single family residence. The grounds were extremely well kept and it appeared that the maintenance team worked constantly to keep the property in good shape. Josh and Barb were terrific. They knew the tenants by name and were very friendly and responsive. In fact there were a few times I saw each of them off the property (grocery store etc) on their own time and they still said hello and recognized me as one of their tenants. The location can't be beat. There was a lot a great space for me to walk my dogs and on the weekends I didn't even need my car. Everything I needed or wanted was within walking distance. There are an abundance of complexes in Sterling and I checked all of them out before choosing Potomac Square. If I were to return to VA I'd move back there in a heartbeat.
This is honestly the worst place I have ever lived. I want to share my experience with everyone because it is ridiculous what we have gone through. I wont even give every detail because that would take forever. We have been at this complex for 9 months now. Since we have moved in we have had issues with our dryer, ac and dishwasher. I can understand a few weeks…maybe even a month or so but 9 months with complaints every month and them "trying to get to it" is unacceptable. The amenities they talk about is a golds gym membership that YOU have to pay for when I brought up that I was told that it was at an off site sister complex they told me I was lying. The construction of the actual complex is some of the cheapest materials you can use. The walls are so thin you can hear the conversations your neighbors are having. The wood in the entire complex isn't even finished. Yes, It is pressure treated but I have had company on our balcony get splinters in their feet because of the cheap materials. Yes, you would think that I would have noticed this while looking at the place before we moved in but I put my trust in the leasing office since we were moving out of state and thought good people still existed. This entire complex is tacky and tasteless and I can still go on with problems but I think you get my point. if we could get out of our lease we would so here is my warning to people thinking about moving in here…it is not worth the money and find a better place to make our home.
I don’t normally write reviews – but I was referred to Potomac Square Apartments from a friend and I have to say, it has been the best renting experience. We were going through a complicated move and the staff were completely understanding and flexible. Not only is the complex in a great location, but they have friendly staff who really care and beautiful new/updated apartments. I would recommend Potomac Square to anyone.
Potomac Square apartments are awesome! They are on NOVA's doorstep so they are a great place for students to live. You are within walking distance of the cascades shopping center. The office staff are very friendly and helpful. I loved living here are would recommend it to any one looking for an apartment in the area.
Potomac Square Apartments are simply the best! They are spacious and quiet. These apartments are conveniently located to everything in Sterling, Ashburn and Reston. Josh and and Barb run the place and are wonderful landlords. They truly care about their tenants. I recommended this place to everyone.
These apartments are great to live in. it's a great place to live if you go to NOVA, as it's across the street. The neighborhood is quiet and it has a great shopping plaza and public library very close. The staff are very friendly and accommodating.
I rented at Potomac Square for a year and have nothing but positive things to say. My apartment was a two-bed with loft and I had an amazing view of the mountains. Everything in the apartment was new and I loved the open floor plan. The staff was always friendly and accommodating. I only moved because I bought a house--otherwise I would still be there!
I'm in a really spacious 2 bedroom 2 bath with new stuff, not refurbished! Stainless Steel appliances! The staff is attentive and really nice! Have'nt had any problems here (2 years now)! It's pretty quiet and close to everything! Great place!

This is our second year here. Only complaint is noisy upstairs neighbors. We hear every footstep they make because of thin walls. Most of the people here are considerate and easy to live with. We won't be renewing our lease if we can find somewhere else to live.
Am on my 2nd yr and will be my last. I am very please on the floor plan/layout of the apartment. It's an open floor layout, so therefore the kitchen seem more open than typical apartment. Am the 1st tenant of the apartment since it was build. The appliances is cheap, Dryer broke down, Refridge broke as well, cheap stove, thin drywall (all kind of noise#. Am paying all the utilities #Washington Gas, Dominion Power, Water, basic cable & internet) will cost over $200 monthly. With that in place am still struggle with taking cold shower on a daily basic. Very very disappointed!!!!
