Situated just seven miles west of Downtown Portland, Beaverton is a beautiful, wooded community nicknamed the “Best in Oregon.” Beaverton is definitely the best for outdoor lovers – the city features more than 100 parks covering more than 1,000 acres. Another best? Beaverton’s school system, which is consistently recognized for high SAT scores. And with ski slopes on the east side and beaches on the west, some might argue that Beaverton’s location is best, as well.
While you can quickly reach Portland in less than 15 minutes, Beaverton is much more than a suburb. Nike headquarters is located here, along with Tektronix and Reser’s Fine Foods. Retail is big in Beaverton, home to the Washington Square Mall, Beaverton Town Square, Cedar Hills Crossing, and a variety of locally-owned boutiques scattered throughout the city, but especially in Downtown Beaverton.

Property Ratings at Commons at Redwood Creek Apartments
PROS: The maintenance team is so nice and they always do their best, they are probably the best of this place. CONS: The rest goes up at such an outrageous amounts every year, it's just not worth the price. You can live in a lot nicer area for the price you would pay here & they allow people to keep patios dirty and dog pop everywhere, that it devalues the area even more. Also, parking is a nightmare because the apartment complex next door parks here and they do not allow us to call the towing company to tow untagged visitors. So it is not a good situation. Management is just okay, not the best, they constantly change, so it makes me wonder about corporate, because nobody last. Just don't do it.
Cons: Overly greedy. Incompetent management. Repeat entries into your apartment with week long we might show up time frames. Horrible parking. Terrible insulation and airflow. Trash constantly overflowing. Increasing police presence. Drug use and transients sleeping in common area. Theft from porches and vehicles. Constant noise. Pros: Good location for walkability. Majority of maintenance staff is friendly.
Several reasons: I have the floor plan with 1 Bedroom and a loft. First, they charge about $100 for water, trash, and parking (for a covered spot) extra which really sucks. They raised the rent for no reason by $135 and didn’t make any upgrades to justify. Trash is really far away. In the summer time it gets REALLY not indoors and there is no way to get away from it since the airflow in the apart so SO SO BAD! It gets hotter inside than outside with all windows and sliding door open. I am a neat freak, always keep my apartment clean and there are ants and spiders everywhere.. the coax cable for cable tv is in the worst spot possible. They mislead you by saying the appliances are upgraded but they’re the worst and cheapest ones. You have more countertop space in your bathroom than in the kitchen which is very inconvenient if you’re a person who likes to cook. You can’t open the dryer door all the way because they designed the laundry access so poorly. The overall floor plan is okay, I like the high ceiling but that’s about it.
Regretfully a current resident at this SMOKERS PARADISE. I can't open my windows because my neighbors smoke on their patio and management does nothing to stop them (lease says no smoking within 20 feet of the building, patios are less than 10 feet long). Another guy smokes while leaning up against his building. Management can see him from the office and does nothing. <¶> Oh, and the "Brand New Apartments" they claim? Lies. I chose my building because management said it was a "brand new building." There are thumbtack holes in almost every wall and the carpet pad feels worn down like it hasn't been replaced in decades. Yes, the appliances are new and they repainted, but the apartment is NOT new. (And the fresh paint started chipping the day I moved in, revealing the ugly, dark paint beneath.) <¶> The lack of communication from management is the worst I've ever experienced. USPS held all packages for months. (During a pandemic, management installed a package locker without approval from USPS, and USPS refused to deliver to it.) Right after I moved in, I went to the office to see if a package was delivered (tracking said "delivered to agent"). The person in the office didn't bother to tell me USPS was holding packages, so I had the package replaced, but it also didn't arrive. A few weeks later, they sent out a notice that packages were *still* being held. Apparently they sent out a notice months before I moved in, and didn't bother to tell new residents as they moved in (and didn't bother to tell me when I asked in person). The last notice we got from management said they were working on it; that was a couple months ago. <¶> We were also recently told to hold all of our recycling in our apartments temporarily, and that they'd let us know when we could use the recycling bins again. That was over 2 weeks ago. How hard is it to send an email? <¶> Plus, the pretty renovated buildings aren't as pretty when your neighbors leave garbage, boxes, broken appliances, etc, on their patios. <¶> I could go on; those are just some of the reasons I hate living here. If management actually enforced the rules and communicated important updates, this place would be ok. But they just can't be bothered. <¶> So, if you don't mind being lied to and ignored, and you like cigarette smoke IN your apartment, this might be the place for you. I can't wait till my lease is up!
I've been living here for over 7 years and I love it! Amazing location with great landscaping! Pool, hot tub, gym, and pool table!
These are the most beautiful apartments! They are working on complete renovations and remodeling! We lived there for a year, unfortunately the remodeling was taking longer then they expected! We hope to move back as soon as renovations are completed! Their management and maintenance staff are exceptional! They care about their tenants!
If I could give this complex no stars, I would! I moved in sight unseen because I came from another state. I thought it was too much money, but figured it was just because of the area. There is no W/D or HU's in the unit and on-site laundry is double the cost of the local laundry. There is no A/C. The kitchen is almost unusable. The two lower cupboards doors are only 12" wide, so you can barely even get pans to fit. Once inside, you can't find anything. Similarly, the drawers are so small you can't find a silverware tray small enough to fit. The bedroom closets are huge, but other than a hall closet and small coat closet, that is the only storage. There is no outside storage attached to the big patio; although you may buy a portable unit. The carpets and vinyl were in good shape and the bathrooms are very large; but I would have preferred space for a W/D . The ugly wood-burning fireplace is useless, and I hid it with furniture. Originally they said I'd have to move in January 2018 because my unit was to be remodeled in February. As of July 2017, that has been put on hold. The office staff is uninformed and rude, and when I finally had a chance to speak to the manager, he was just as rude and unbending as his staff. During this last winters' storms, there was absolutely no maintenance done to ensure the safety of the residents. No sidewalks were shoveled and the road was so dangerous I could hardly get to my parking space. I came home after a trip to find a tree had fallen and was blocking the sidewalk to get to my unit. I had to go around it on an incline that was extremely dangerous given the ice and snow. When I went to the office to complain, the response was that their only responsibility was to clean the sidewalks leading to the public areas. I told them I would do the work myself, but I could not obtain a shovel because all stores in the area were sold out. I asked to borrow their shovel and some salt, and was told that they could not do that because it is a liability. I guess it is more of an issue for a tenant to potentially hurt their back shoveling snow than to fall and break their limbs on the ice-covered sidewalk! Now, 7 months later, there are still limbs from the fallen tree on the roof of the carport outside my unit. I could go on, but you get the picture. On a positive note, the setting is stunning. Although in the heart of the city, it is quiet and peaceful and I will miss that beauty.
The company claims the complex was renovated in October 2017, but many of the buildings on Hall Boulevard have been vacant and under construction since September 2016, and not finished. The lawns have not been watered in months, and fleas, ants, spiders, etc are all out of control. And the "Fountains" in the ponds have not run for months, allowing the misquitos to breed out of control.
Upon moving in, the bedroom blinds were broken, the oven/stove didn't work, and the bathroom curtain rod was held up with cardboard. Not a great start to moving in, although they did fix them right away. We have had to have our appliances replaced three times now. The fridge and dishwasher both stopped working and they just replaced them with appliances from other units every time. They still don't quite work right and are probably as old as I am. Except for Marni, the office staff are unhappy, unprofessional, and act like they are still in high school. Not only do they not respond to messages/emails, they also give incorrect information regarding their company policies, and poor customer service. The laundry machines are coin operated which is fine except that they don't offer a coin machine on site. Also, it is in the basement of the clubhouse, which is a hassle to get down to and it often floods. There are only two trash sites for the entire complex, which we have to pay extra for on top of our rent. There are no lights installed in any of the rooms except for the bathroom, entry-way, and kitchen/dining area. The light in the dining room is only a 75 W miniature light and doesn't do much. We have to have lamps in every room in the house. There is a crease running along the middle of all the walls in the apartment. If we lean against the walls, they crack. As old as this place is, that really isn't a good sign. The baseboard heating only has two settings: off or dying of heat stroke. The management company does not return any of my phone calls. Supposedly, they are supposed to be renovating the whole complex within the year but I have seen nothing to indicate that. I would not recommend living here at all. P.S. the maintenance guys are great though!
The apartments have a lot of space with ample closets. The pool is very nice. They will raise the rent to a crazy amount anytime they can however. To go month to month after a year lease would have doubled my rent.
In the 3 years I have lived here the apartments have changed property owners 3 times! The original owners were fabulous! I received one month free, cable for only 25.00 per month, water/sewer and garbage was included in rent, they gave me a care package upon move in that included dish soap, detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc.., staff was friendly and helpful and there were recycling areas all over the complex. The second owners proceeded to take away all the benefits of living there, no more cable, only two recycling area's for a 400 unit complex, fired all the staff, increased rent by 110.00 a month, the hot tub wasn't working half the time and the pool was always dirty, they also started charging for w/s/g and started charging for parking. I thought this was bad, but noooo! The 3rd and current owners Tandem Property Management are now no longer allowing annual leases, month to month only with a 300.00 rent increase! That's right, a 30% increase, not to mention it already increased 110.00 last year. They increased the w/s/g to a flat rate that they said was less for most tenants but it was higher for me, they said they hoped I enjoyed the convenience of a flat monthly rate! Yes, thank you, very convenient. So needless to say, I will be moving upon the end of my lease on Sept. 30th. to an apartment where I can actually have an annual lease and not have to worry about my rent being raised at any month they decide to do so based on "market value".
We loved these apartments when we first moved in (2013) but since the new management has taken over it is slowly going under. 1. They are doing tons of "renovations" that end up taking WAY longer than expected, and end up impacting our quality of life 2. The gym used to be extended hours but since they "renovated" it, it is only open during office hours; if anyone works a normal 9-5 job you no longer can utilize the gym. 3. The new office staff is incredibly RUDE and unprofessional. 4. They have moved to month to month ONLY, and now our quiet family neighborhood is starting to become loud, obnoxious, and sketchy. 5. With the change to month to month the rent has increased by 30%! 6. The apartments are very BASIC and poor quality with no W/D 7. 1/2 laundry mats are always flooded and thus shut down, they are always dirty and gross. There are better quality apartments than the Commons at Redwood Creek.
I actuially enjoy living here, we are so tired of koving because rent gets to high so we have to keep moving. We really enjoy living gere it is close to where we work, and we are close to our lives. Our rent is going up again soon and once again we may have to move. :( thank you so much for hearing me out! Have a wonderful day
Redwood creek is like a Honda. When you drive a Honda you know it is not the most glamorous car in the world but it works for what you may need. Redwood creek has spacious layouts, it is not too old, and management is pretty good. But if you want marble counter tops, pools with models out front, this is not the place. We live in a 2 bed 2 bath (roommate) and it works fine for what we need. Area is nice if you can handle the traffic and it has been a good home for two years.
