Property Ratings at Copper Creek Apartments
Starting off I had great service when touring the apartment and setting up the lease etc. Moving in was good and a quick and easy task. Further down the line into living in the apartment we noticed a few very bad features. The walls are paper thin, you hear everything from the neighbors above you, our dryer was clogged completely and when putting in a support ticket nothing was done. Dirty laundry was left behind the washer and dryer. The paint on the wall is very very cheap. While moving in we were promised the second months rent for free and they tried saying it was the next months rent and finally honored it when looking back into the emails. Furthermore, we were denied renewl for our lease when we paid rent every month on time and gave zero problems. When asking for a reason of why but to contact the office. I believe we had one noise complaint from new tenants below us, however, zero explanation of what happened or why. I would advise avoiding this apartment complex and looking elsewhere. For the price point it is not worth it w/ the complications described with management and the apartment itself.
We had a neighbor pound, scream, and cuss at us through our door in the middle of the night for unknown reasons. They then paced back and forth, ran around, and jumped up and down outside while staring at our windows the entire time. Police were called but couldn't do much. We told management we didn't feel entirely safe living by someone who acts like that. Management told us that they would tell the neighbor that they should never interact with us again and should call management or the police if there is something wrong. I later asked how the conversation went, and I was told that without communicating with us, management decided that they "didn't want to upset the neighbor further." I asked if we were supposed to just hope the neighbor didn't repeat the behavior or even escalate it. In short, management said, "Yes." We used automatic online payments for rent. Their website did not charge us the last month living there, and it never told us that we missed our payment. We got a voicemail around 5pm telling us we didn't pay and got a letter on our door the next day saying that they were starting the eviction process. Apparently Sandalwood will try to evict you less than 24 hours after telling you that you about a missed payment, even if it is their fault. They said their website doesn't charge some people their final month, so it is a known issue that was not fixed. Also, Sandalwood never sent us a link to their payment aite. We had to request it from them as the next payment drew nearer. A neighbor had water pour out a light in their ceiling. They called the emergency maintenance number and were told that maintenance couldn't come fix it at all. They were told to tell their upstairs neighbor that they shouldn't use the dishwasher anymore. Our neighbor was never told if it was fixed, and they had a water stain on the ceiling when they moved out. Sandalwood stopped caring for the property for at least the 7 months we lived under them. Hundreds of weeds grew outside the buildings that were taller than my waist, and they fell across the sidewalk under their own weight. Weeds took over the turf in the dog park. Siding and railings came off the buildings and weren't repaired for months. The pool was lime green. Management stopped putting poop bags in the dispensers, which resulted in dog poop everywhere. The grass was often much higher than my ankles. The floors are extremely thin. We could hear footsteps and conversations of our upstairs neighbor clearly.
I want to start off by saying how poorly Copper Creek apartments have been ever since Sandalwood has taken over. It took me over 3 months to get in contact with their management, they have neglected everything, and do not care about the tenants. If you want to live at a place that does not contact you, raises rent, and charges you for unknown fees this is the place. Also, they have let the entire facility go to the wayside. All the amenities that have been promised in the lease have not been up to standard and the management just doesn’t care. The walls are thin, the apartment appearance is cobbled up, and hearing from my neighbors, the maintenance workers do not know what they are doing. We will be moving out in one month and cannot wait!
Rent has gone up every year, and this time its over $100 just to renew our lease (This is an insane increase, each year its been 10-20dollars max increase but this is absurd) ..these apartments are already high end price range, how this place justifies these type of increases is beyond me. We were initially attracted to the amenities and spacious closets, however don't be fooled you are living in a PAPER walled apartment, literally. You hear everything your neighbor is doing and then some, stomping on the floors, dogs barking, phones going off, people laughing, and the list goes on. The walls are horribly thin, if you enjoy hearing your neighbors of all hours, then this is the place for you! Management: This will be the third time they have changed since we have been here, which makes you wonder what is really going on behind the scenes...There has been noone to contact over the last few weeks, (front has been closed & noone answers the phone) but they sure will bill you for extra fees now, and raise your rent no prob!! (I was very sad when I tried to contact Nicole, the previous office manager who did a great job..when I heard she left, red flags 100%. ) Recently there has been several cops circling the apartment complex as well, I have seen them out with their canines searching in the wood area running around like they were hunting someone. Mind you, that very night I had a very soft knock at my door, by the time I got to the door at 2am, they were gone...scary to say the least. Don't be fooled by the pretty exterior (everything is cheaply made), this place has gone down hill and its a huge shame for sure. Constantly changing management companies, tacking on new fees, raising the rent at top end prices already, and SUPER thin walls-this place needs a reality check.

First, I want to say beautiful apartment with lots of amenities. However, the noise level is unbelievably loud and disrespectful. If you choose ground level or second floor (walls are thin and no noise ordinance in area) make sure you are aware that are noisy neighbors who have no common sense or decency from banging, jumping, stomping from crack of dawn until night. I have been here a year and waiting to get out from my lease because nothing has been done about it except move me. I find this distasteful to say the least and it is very sad because I would stay if hadn't been for this.
The apartment itself is nice. Good light, great cupboard space in kitchen and baths. Ample counter space. Laminate floors in main living areas and baths make cleaning easy. Decent neighborhood with safe places to walk. Very nice clubhouse and amenities. Utilities are pretty low and trash service is convenient but no recycling. Pet waste bags and disposal are available but bags sometimes empty and waste receptacles are sometimes not emptied for weeks. Highway noise can be loud depending on location of your unit. But the most significant noise is from the neighbors. Lots of college kids in some buildings. Parties almost every weekend. Paper thin walls exacerbate the noise problem. Lately there have been drunk kids roaming in the parking lot and banging up and down the stairs after the bars close. I wouldn’t recommend the newer buildings for people who need to sleep at night. Older buildings seem to have fewer noise problems.
Copper Creek is by far the best apartment we've lived, and it's pretty affordable for the amenities offered. We've lived here for 6 months and have enjoyed our stay. Overall we would recommend this place but would advise to consider the following. PROS: beautiful and modern with dark cabinets, stainless appliances, quartz countertops washer/dryer amenities at the lodge walk through closet is huge neighbors are polite, w/ mix of students, young professionals, a few families, and older residents MIXED: - the trash pickup is great, however almost none of our neighbors know how to use it correctly. As a result we regularly pass loose bags of trash in the hallway. The service only picks up Sun-Thur nights, so it sits most of the weekend at many doors, and often all day during the week. It's supposed to be contained in the trash can (it rarely is). This gets pretty gross, with trash bags all over and leaking on the floor. CONS: - the walls are so thin (they clearly skipped any insulation between apartments). We share our bedroom wall with our neighbor's kitchen/living room. We can hear them talking late into the night, we can hear their music, we can hear them smoking hookah or a bong. Anything more than a whisper might as well be in our bedroom. Granted, the staff has been responsive in addressing our concerns, but how about just building the place with a bit of sound insulation? - the build quality on doors and walls is lacking. The paint on a wall shouldn't be wearing and discoloring from normal use in only a few months. - $50 a month for water/sewer?? - a fee (like $4) to pay online is an insult
I have lived here for over a year and just signed a 2 year lease ! This is luxury living ! Extremely spacious apartments with open floor plan ! I feel like I’m living in a house rather than an apartment ! The staff here is unbelievable ! They are like family to the residents , kind and caring and help with any issue you may have . The pool and clubhouse make you feel like you live on vacation ! Free Starbucks coffee and they take your trash out in the evenings for you ! The maintenance Is fantastic ! Brian gets done whatever you need usually same day ! I haven’t ever seen a company work harder to keep people happy ! I recommend Copper Creek to everyone !!
Just signed a second lease. Complex is quiet and well kept. Staff is very accommodating and easy to approach with any needs or issues. Neihbor’s are always friendly. Happy to live here another year.
I would like to take this time to recognize the staff at Copper Creek Apartments. The staff consisting of Mark, Colton, Brian and Bryce take great pride in making sure that this apartment community remains nothing short of first class. As senior residents of this fine establishment for more than a year, my wife and I can attest to their professionalism, making the residents feel safe, at home and more than welcome. the property itself is very well kept. The clubhouse has a theater room, pool table and ping pong table. It also has a pool behind the clubhouse, where we feel very safe and secure. The"meet and greet"events have great turnouts, which bring the residents together for good times! The very spacious luxury units really topped it off for us! I would recommend this property to anyone who would like to enjoy a luxurious community with great staff in a superb location!
Living at Copper Creek has been fantastic! Being close to shopping, restaurants and nightlife while still being off the main roads is a big bonus. The amenities are great too; the pool, patio, grill, workout area, lodge and more! The spacious floor plans they have to offer are great. The staff is also awesome with helping me with any issue I might have. The close community feel is nice too, parties are held every month with food and beverages included, of which a good number of residents attend and hang out. I have been very happy with my Copper Creek experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for an apartment in the Kent area!
...but if your idea of luxury is limited to laminate floors, granite countertops, and a nice (but barely adequate) pool, then this is your place! But, if luxury to you means no highway noise, nice trees, not being able to hear your neighbor's cell phone ring, having some utilities included in rent, and not being charged extra for paying rent online, then find another place to live. The complex had potential and character before they cut down the trees next to the interstate to triple the size of the place. It even had potential (because of the square footage) before they cut corners on the buildings and used such cheap material you can feel a draft next to some of the windows. I'm not sure what definition of luxury they used when making up the promotional material, but it's definitely NOT the definition most people have in mind when they use that word.
I love living here! Large open floor plan makes you feel like you're living in a home not an apartment. Great pool, club house and bbq area. The office and maintenance staff is friendly, helpful and always available. The 24/7 free Starbucks is an added bonus!
Beautiful apartments with high quality appliances. A beautiful place to live. Very helpful and knowledgeable leasing agents.
I am a current resident. I hear my neighbors iphone ring, I hear their alarms go off in the morning, I hear them use their microwave, I hear them speaking.
