Property Ratings at Copper Ridge Apartments
Pros Location was close to my job Utilities were inexpensive Maintenance is responsive Friendly neighbors Cons Parking lot was often at capacity Cars got broken into several times Snow removal was not always prompt Overall, I had an okay experience at this complex. It can be quite noisy when you have children living above you but is a part of living in an apartment. The pool is small and often crowded and there is no hot tub. The parking lot was often full, with people parking at the end of the buildings for overflow. The primary reason for my negative review is the move out process. I feel unfairly charged for carpet replacement and was basically ghosted when I started to ask more questions. If you move here, ask for a walk thru when moving out and very clear instructions for move out as well as what the owner's will be looking for. I understand paying for damages; however, I don't appreciate being ignored when asking for more information surrounding charges.
After one year, I’m so sad to be moving out of state and leaving Copper Ridge! Management and maintenance work really hard to keep the complex so nice. I have loved the hotel feel of the entry, hallways and unit. I am so grateful that the parking lot was always plowed; I never had any problems getting to work. If you are looking for a safe, well-kept, homey yet elevated place to live, I highly suggest Copper Ridge. Thank you!
Modern, clean and well managed by nice people who are very responsive to the tenants.
There is a lot to love about living here. The staff is great and the community facilities are clean, well maintained and in great condition. The apartments are large and very nice. Although the appliances are somewhat dated. The grounds are very pretty, but would be a lot prettier if people would pick up after themselves. They are mostly very good about picking up after their pets. Just a little bit sloppy about picking up their snack bags and soft drink cups. I think that is mostly the kids. There is a pigeon problem so keeping the patio clean is an ongoing issue. LOL From what I have seen in the 2 weeks I have lived here is that the people on the ground levels, like to decorate and keep a very nice looking patio. Seen some very nice looking deck areas as well. It seems as though the people here really care about this place and do their best to make it a "home" and not just a "rental". Such a pleasant thing to see! The people that I have had a chance to meet in my short time here have been very friendly and helpful to a newcomer. I am very certain that I shall enjoy living here for a long time to come!
From the moment I first drove up to viewing the lovely model apt. to moving in and beyond, Copper Ridge has exceeded my expectations in every way imaginable....staff is amazing, so attentive, maintenance is great, the apt. is stunning, love that I can see forever from my patio...the place feels like a forever home too, I hope to stay a long time...still cannot believe I found it by chance. I even own a condo around the corner but this far exceeds that one in every way, so it's going up for sale next week!!! This truly is first class living, like someone else said, like a luxury hotel...beautiful halls, very nice elevator, everything is "top drawer".
Very nice and safe place to stay. Well maintained apartments and amenities. The people who work here are great and accommodating. :)
I love living here, the people that work here are great and helpful. Very friendly.
We were apprehensive about going back to apartment living, but when we saw the phase 2 of Copper Ridge we were sold. True luxury. The staff is on top of all our needs and concerns. Sure, there is some noise, but people generally respect their neighbors. This will be home until we leave this state.
I have lived at Copper Ridge for a little over three months. It has been a wonderful place to live. The staff are phenomenal, from the first day they have went above and beyond, especially Emily! The maintenance staff are wonderful and extremely prompt with any issues. Buildings are very clean and beautiful, much like a luxury hotel! Also very friendly neighbors, which is always a plus!
We have lived at Copper Ridge for three months. We were reluctant to move into an apartment as have always had our home. From the first day we met John and looked around, and had looked at all the apartments in town, all of the office staff made you feel like you belonged there. The apartment is beautiful and very quiet!!! Love it. The Maintenance Crew are marvelous and also so friendly, polite and right here when you need them, with a smile. I would highly recommend Copper Ridge. It has many Community get togethers, which makes for a lot of fun and friends. Join us!!!
Apartments are spacious and well-maintained by maintenance personnel. However, management is somewhat weak, and takes action only when confronted by tenant. Parking is a negative and rent is high. Our lease stated no dogs allowed but dogs were abundant throughout the complex and sometimes running without leashes. Parking tags were required but in our 27 month occupancy we saw many cars without tags and/or parked illegally and never towed. Buildings are entered through secure access doors and lead to inner hallways; however, inner doors are often slammed and music is heard throughout the hallways. We also agree with other reviews that the lease buy-out is expensive and no consideration is given even though management violated the lease in many aspects... Although the apartments are nice, our opinion is that they are not worth the money. There are other apartment buildings in Rapid City that have the same amenities and at lesser rents.
My husband and I loved living here. The only reason we even left is because my husband got out of the military. Our apartment faced the hills and we had beautiful sunsets. We couldn't hear our neighbors at all. The grounds were well kept and maintenance was quick to respond. The people who manage the apartments are so nice and helpful.
I lived at Copper Ridge for a year and a half and absolutely loved it. Going through a divorce, I was so worried about leaving my house for an apartment with two small children. We absolutely loved it. I lived in several apartments in both college and graduate school, but none compare to Copper Ridge. As a single mom, I felt it was safe and in a great location, close to schools, physicians, the hospital and several stores. The staff is the greatest I have ever dealt with in my renting experience. All of my maintenance concerns were taken care of within ten minutes, even when the situation was not an emergency. The grounds were very well maintained and cleaned frequently. We loved the pool. The other residents were respectful and many were professional, therefore noise was very rarely an issue. I loved the closet space and the size of the bathrooms and the master bedroom. The design is unique and does not have an apartment feel. I moved only because I bought a house. In fact, I stood in the kitchen with tears in my eyes on moving day because I knew how much we would miss this apartment. It was the only apartment I ever lived in where it felt like a 'home'. I absolutely love Copper Ridge and the staff.
We lived there for almost 2 years it was awesome! The management team was the best I have ever seen. Maintenance was great, always timely and precise. The only reason we left is We bought a place and broke our lease even that was a great experiance. John the manager sat down with us, and went through the process. There were no hidden fees or anything like that it was just as the lease we had sighned when we moved in. You do loose your deposit, but what do you expect when you break lease. We made life long friends there, and we will go back if we decide to rent again. The apartments are wonderful the amminities are excellent. So do yourself a favor and live at Copper Ridge you can't go wrong.
I lived at Copper Ridge for almost two years and loved it. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. All the facilities are very clean and neat. The views of the hills are awesome. Everyone I met was extremely nice and friendly. The only downside is parking. If you want a descent spot after 9, it's hard to find one. Other than that, I definitely recommend living here!
The view was great, but the wind from the west is horrible. All of the neighbors were decent and friendly. Very safe place and clean, but it's also brand new. There are a few things that the company does that I've never seen in other apartment complexes. First of all they don't provide the tenant with a shower curtain bar, and when I installed one I decided to leave behind when I moved out, the maintenance took it down and were going to through it away rather than offer it to the next tenant. Lastly I left before my lease was over, and while it was easy to move out, it was difficult to get past the early lease termination fees. Seems like even months later I'm still paying Copper Ridge for stuff they keep finding. It's hard to get a hold of the manager unless you just walk in to the office. I understand that I signed an official legal document prior to terminating my lease early, but they certainly didn't try to make leaving an easy task. I wish all who live there and need to leave early for personal reasons good luck. There are other apartments in the area that are more early lease termination friendly.
Property Manager at Copper Ridge Apartments, Responded To This Review
We always strive to do the best job that we can with each resident and with changes that come up. We would sincerely appreciate if you would contact the office with any ideas you have to help improve this process and life in general at Copper Ridge.
I recently moved into Copper Ridge Apartments in May 2016. I visited the property several times before moving in and John, the manager, was always available to answer my questions and helped me choose an apartment, reasonably priced, that would meet my needs. Once settled I found out that this is not just an apartment but a family! The manager, staff, and maintenance person show a caring, can do attitude to make this your home not just a place to put your possessions. Also the staff plans monthly coffees and get-together activities to give you a chance to meet your neighbors and be included in a community, part of a family. I am a single person and also appreciate the security in the building as well as the convenient phone access for my friends and delivery personnel through my cell phone. Also if you have a maintenance issue, it is noted through a work order in your e-mail and promptly repaired. You are also notified when the work order is complete!! An affordable, well organized and managed, friendly place to live!
Just love it here! Any and all concerns have been answered or fixed promptly. This is definitely care free living! Love the Donut Socials, management and staff are very nice, location and views are wonderful!
I lived in another apartment complex, Founder's Park, last year - and as soon as Copper Ridge opened, I was immediately interested, even though it meant I'd go through the hassle of moving. I had lived in Foxmoor Apartments (the Sioux Falls complex owned/managed by the same company), and had a phenomenal experience. When I called to inquire about Copper Ridge last summer, the property manager (who transferred to Rapid City from Sioux Falls) recognized my name - 3 years after I had lived at Foxmoor. Moving across town to these apartments was an easy decision! Every time I see the property manager, he calls me by name and stops to chat about my family and my career - the personal investment the management team has in their residents is unlike any I've ever seen. The maintenance requests I've submitted have been attentively and flawlessly taken care of, and the community of residents they have attracted seem to be friendly and responsible. There's no doubt in my mind that I will be a resident of Copper Ridge until I'm ready to take the plunge and buy a home.
Copper Ridge apartments are all updated and modern. They are perfect for anyone from a young college student to families to the elder couple wanting to retire. They have studios up to three bedroom apartments to give you as much or as little space as you need. My favorite part is that the employees here are always available and know me by my first name which is unusual. Also if you have a problem they will fix it right away. Never have had a problem with any of the neighbors, everybody is so nice around here. Just walking from car to my front door everybody will say hello and I love that. It's like a little community here and I will definitely be staying here for a while.
One Bedroom: it's brand new and nice. The fact they call it a luxury apartment is not correct. None of the amenities within the apartment relate to luxury. All of the amenities within the apartment are fine, but for the cost of a monthly rent does not relate. Meaning the apartments are way over priced. Also the swimming pool has not yet been finished and everyone in the apartment complex is paying for the amenity that cannot be used.
The apartments are very spacious and have great amenities. The weight room was just finished but the pool is not completed. Apartment facing parking lot gets a lot of outside noise. Isn't insulated very well. The kitchen is large but doesn't have hardly any drawer space. Space for extra storage in the water closet.
I saw this apartment complex on apartmerts.com and thought, this is where I want to be. I toured the apartment and I walked into the bed room and screamed "OMG"! Those closets were so big that I almost fainted. The kitchen is a dream I can make a meal for ten and still have counter space. The amenities cannot be beat (pool, gym, in unit washer/dryer, dishwasher, and central AIR). The staff are some of the most respectful people I've ever worked with and it was a very smooth process for all of us. I have a new HOME not just an apartment. These are top of the line luxury apartments in the best location, moments from town and moments from the black hills!
Holy Catfish! The view is spectacular. I'm in corner apartment with fabulous view to South Black Hills and West Black Hills. Cannot be beat! The security is the best which is very importnat to me since I live by myself. The manager serves above and beyond his duty ~ even waterning my plants while I was gone! He has to as security is so good no one else can! The bilding is so quiet sometimes I wonder if anyone else is there but when i see the parking lot, I know it's full. There's a great community center with a wonderful exercise room ~ which I need to use more often! Regardless, I love it here!
