Hugging the Congaree River and stretching east, Columbia is a sprawling city with a history dating back to colonial times. Nicknamed the "Capital of Southern Hospitality," Columbia is a welcoming, warm city -- it is also a college town, home to the University of South Carolina. The university is located downtown, covering over 359 acres. The historic, top-ranking university dates back to 1801, but the oldest structure in Columbia is the Seibels House, built around 1796. It currently serves as a house museum.
While there's plenty for college students to do, Columbia provides a variety of activities -- whether you're a golfer, a shopper, or a foodie. Kid-friendly activities are everywhere, from the gorgeous parks to the Riverbanks Zoo and Garden. The downtown district provides a variety of shops and restaurants along brick-paved sidewalks, and the river and nearby lakes provide opportunities for boating and fishing.

Property Ratings at Copperfield
We went with Copperfield because we thought they seemed the most caring when we spoke to them the first time. At that point we already looked at many different apartments and even got accepted for a few others but this one seemed like they actually had people who cared. WE WERE WRONG. The women at the office just reminds you that all big companies JUST WANT MONEY. There was some stuff messed up with our application & at first she seemed SEMI-helpful but then after that it was like she didn't even care and it wasn't her problem; didn't even try anymore. So we decided to just go somewhere else. Honestly - SAVE YOUR MONEY. This is not the first apartments we have applied to or lived in but definitely the ones who showed they did not care the most.
Moved in Oct. 2019, and it’s been nothing but problems here. The first day our air wasn’t working and our kitchen sink was leaking and the downstairs bathroom was stopped up! Our rent price have been changing. Now, we notice our house have been broken into twice and the little boys tried to come back again so we asked to be moved since we literally at the edge of the road and it’s a easy break in. But they say it’s nothing they can do for us so therefore we will be breaking our lease. Oh they didn’t even have no paperwork of our lease! But Ruth was very helpful.
We have been residents going on 2 years now. We are in a 2 bedroom 1.5 bath apartment. Cons: Since we have been living here the pool has never opened. We have always gotten promised that the pool would be open soon for the past 2 years. Since moving here they have gone through about 5 new managment properties. You cannot pay rent online anymore. You have to pay with a money order. They seem to sometimes forget to pay the trash company because sometimes the trash sits overflowing at all the dumpsters for over a week but i will admit recently it has been taken out a lot more regularly. I think they are currently trying to save money on landscaping too right now. The grass is in terrible need of mowing and there are large tree branches still in a pile in at least two parts of the complex just sitting there from a storm that happened about a month ago. I have never seen anyone in the dog park but I don't blame them since right now its overgrown with weeds. At one point they dug up the sewage line to fix a leak next to our apartment and then never filled in the hole. So it's been over a year and the hole is still super visable and this is not just a small hole.. It's huge. Pros: Iceis in the office is the best. I would give her 5 stars. She always has on a smile and is happy to help. Mr. Bernard in maintenance is also a pure gem. I would also rate him 5 stars. The rent is pretty low and the monthly pet fee is affordable. The pest control seems to work because we rarely have any pest problems. The pool area has a gazebo that was built last year but sadly no one has ever had the pleasure to use it. It's still nice to look at though. The playground is also a nice feature. We don't have kids but I'm sure the neighborhood kids enjoy it. We love having our hard "wood" floors on the bottom floor. The living room is spacious. Though the kitchen is small, it gets the job done for us 2 adults. The master besdroom is also pretty spacious and has a giant closest with his and her sides. The bathrooms are pretty small but we dont mind. We just like that there is a half bath on the ground floor. We plan on living here for another 6 months but after that we just don't want to anymore because of the ongoing problems this place seems to always have. I'll change my review rating if it gets any better. Thanks for listening!
I Love, Love Copperfield Apartments! I used to live here in 2017, but then I moved away due to financial difficulties at that moment; I wish I had never left , but I am so glad to be back.
Due to the problem with maintenance, I always let people I know up front, about how slow and inconsistent Maintenece is.
I have also had quick turn around service when it comes to maintenance and the office staff is always friendly and helpful.
The section I live in is mostly working class, quiet, mature people....with maybe 1 or 2 exceptions. I have seen some things in other parts of the apartment complex that may deter potential residents.
I was needing to move fast and the office staff was able to help me find my new home. It is very clean and spacious. I absolutely love my new home.
I am excited to inform you Copperfield Aparments is under new management. We have wonderful new upgrades and amenities coming soon. Give our new staff the opportunity to make Copperfield Apartments your new home!
The price is a bit high for a 3 bedroom apartment and the building is pretty old but there is plenty of space. Whenever there is a problem they do send the maintenance man out right away to fix it. The area is pretty quiet so I like that. Overall it's a nice place to stay for a while. If I had help with the rent it would be great!

Copperfield Apt is a little small, but efficient. There are 123 bedrooms here. I am currently in a 2 br 1 1/2 ba. The neighborhood is pretty save. We have no major problems here. Everyone is friendly and all the kids play together. The grounds are ok and maintenance is pretty quick most times to fix things.
I moved from baton rouge,La and this apt had been a place of no safety for me. Trees over grown people along with the maintenance crew coming in my home when they feel like it, I shouted it from the roof top and still am. So much has happened to me here its unbelievable but it has happened to me and that is no lie. I got hear on April 13th and its been a nightmare for me.I have hired a lawyer and I will handle this way. They have stolen from me my food ,my clothes my house hold items you name it they have it stolen there not much left to steal. I need to get out of here asap and get my money back for all that was taken from me.
