Property Ratings at Cornerstone Apartment Homes
This place is not as great as it appears. Since before I even moved in I had issues with this place. I should have taken the hint there, but I was desperate for a place. I’ve only been here for 2 months and there has been one issue after another. We have asked for them to do certain things and it hasn’t been done. Things as simple as fixing our stove knobs and changing the filter to the air conditioner. Also before we moved in we asked if utilities were included in the rent and they had said yes and the only thing we would pay is electricity and internet, which is normal for apartments. Now when they sent up a statement for our rent it shows that we not only have to pay the rent ,which is high, but also pay for water heating, pest control, trash , sewage and water. All those things raised the rent another $100-$200 on top of the rent. With what I’m paying I could find a 1 bedroom apartment with everything included. If I didn’t have a lease I would move out in a hear beat.
They are undergoing serious renovation and are not meeting any of their short/long-term deadlines; elevators are taking forever to repair/fixture, therefore stairs is the only available option. Landscaping does not seem like an immediate priority and artificial rivers are dried up -- the place is essentially a desert, enhanced by the chatsworth heat. Their accounting department sucks and with all their difficult technicalities, you end up losing money for unjustified costs. 2+ thumbs down.

Cornerstone has been a lovely place to live. The staff are great and they do their best to address any maintenance problems quickly. The pool area is fantastic and well maintained and so is the parking area. While it's not a fantastic area for walking to things to do, there is easy access to freeways. The apartments are of good size and comfortably laid out.
The building itself is okay, but the management is awful. Our neighbors are slobs, and the cleaning person is almost NEVER there. The inside of the apartment is the only nice thing of this entire building, and even then, it's only a fair deal. Would not recommend.
