Property Ratings at Coronado Villas Apartments
The kitchen is small and the cabinets won’t even fit pots and pans and the drawers will not fit a silverware tray. They have so changed pool access keys without letting residents know so you find out by trying to use the pool and not being able to gain access. The pet fees every month are just added fees. After moving out they still charge a $500 pet decontamination fee to pay for new carpets. They will also charge you hundreds to have the windows cleaned and if you hang anything patches filled in and new paint. They will also charge for every little thing they touch to clean after move out. It would be cheaper to hire a cleaning service. We have lived in multiple apartments and while living there it was fine but moving out was a horrible experience. It also was nothing special and definitely not the nicest apartment we have been in. If you ever need maintenance to come in they won’t tell you when they are coming and just show up and if you have pets that aren’t locked up they won’t come in. It took many times trying to get them to come and begging them to give us a heads up of when they would be there. All in all I wouldn’t live here again.

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We want to clarify that we only charge for damages within the unit discovered upon inspection. Please contact us if you would like to discuss this matter further. We look forward to reaching a reasonable solution.
I have lived here for almost 3 years and the best thing around was the maintenance. They say it is a non smoking but I have talked to plenty of people who say they either smoke on the property or know people who do and it is not just cigarettes, it's drugs too. I think you need to change your smoking policy to smoking outside only. You can smoke outside any other establishment and in your car that's what it should be here. That's like the law trying to be passed about not smoking in your car with kids in the car with you. That never passed either. You also should make people accountable for their dogs. A lot of dog poop never picked up and kids running wild climbing on high places with no one accountable then they want to blame the complex. I used to think this was a nice place but it turned out to be our worse nightmare. They also charged us for many things that I don't feel they should have when leaving and there is no communication with the office people. Important information is never communicated to anyone so I couldn't even do a face to face walk thru when we left. I took the day off of work to be there and made the appoint 2 weeks prior to leaving and no one communicated this to the manager. Very POOR COMMUNICATION!!!!!

Dryer would never shut off and was broken when we moved in contacted them multiple times through out the year to fix it they never did. then they said they needed to replace all the carpets for smelling like nicotine from a vape. $1000 for that. smelt like cigarettes when we moved into the apt though and they couldn’t do anything about it.

This place is alright and maintenance is pretty fast and they’re cool people but theft is high here. They stole my motorcycle in broad daylight in front of the leasing office and no one saw a thing. It be great if they had cameras but they have 0. Constant break ins in cars and attempting to break in to first floor units through the patio etc.

When you are able, please reach out to a team member over the phone and they will be sure to assist you.
Let me start this review on a positive note. The maintenance department receives the star. Despite constant turnover, the maintenance staff is on site, working every day. They respond to requests at all odd hours; 24 hour emergency call is real. In all fairness, maintenance is the only positive at Coronado Villas. This community can be rowdy and noisy, at all hours. The numbers of unsupervised, ill-behaved children playing in the street/parking are increasing. The level of vandalism is high and a real, documented threat. In September, 2019, "rocks are being thrown in the parking lot, " with the potential for vehicle and property damage. The brand new, community center, less than 6 months old, and adjacent pool/spa were reported vandalized in December, 2019. The damage included: "broken jets in the spa, gates tampered and smashed with rocks, furniture and rocks thrown in pool, bathroom fixtures smashed and broken, and gym equipment broken, and stolen." All items in quotes are from management announcements. Finally, if you have a family of six (2 adults, 4 children, 2 cats, and a dog) looking for a home, then look no further. This is the place for you. If you are a senior citizen looking for a quite place to call home, then keep looking. This is not the place for you. Good Luck.
Lets start with the good and then I'll explain why it deserves 1 star. Maintenance staff is generally very quick to respond....but everything seems to break and it takes 2-3 visits to get anything actually fixed....even if its summer and your A/C goes out. The office staff...ok there really isnt anything good to say there. Its supposed to be a no smoking area...but almost every evening you can smell various people smoking on their patio, some cigarettes and I'm pretty sure I smelled weed on more than one occasion. People dont seem to clean up after their dogs and despite being in a nice area car alarms go off almost every night and if you leave your car unlocked it's a given someone will go through it. NOT ENERGY EFFICIENT. I pay 2-3 times what my friends pay for electricity in similar apartments. Go somewhere else.

Great location is the only up about this place. Everything is always broken and front desk is not prompt with returning emails, and when you do get a reply, you get nothing but excuses. The walls are paper thin it's ridiculous. There's dog poop everywhere. Pools are unclean and often closed. It has been 8 months and going since they've closed the fitness center for "renovation" which is absurd. More concerned with the appearance rather than actually fixing the units themselves. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere.
New ownership is very greedy & could care less about tenants. I was doing a month to month lease while waiting for my new house to be ready and came to “a notice of termination” letter on my door. I was shocked as to why I would be kicked out so urgently with no warning or reason. Apparently they were kicking me out so they could use my apartment for renovation. I had to plead with them so I could have a place to live for an additional month. During move-out, I made good effort to clean yet was tacked on will “full cleaning” fees. I was unfairly charged for pre-existing damages of a dated apartment that was going to be renovated anyway. The leasing office does not care about your mail either and doesn’t go out of there way to help tenants. Overall, dissatisfied and discourage leasing here.
I moved out of these apartments 2 months after moving in. They told me it was a non smoking property but the man below me sat on his porch smoking day and night so I could not use my patio without his lovely aroma. my neighbor sat outside, hanging over the patio wall with no shirt on. there was a large black stain on the wall. The large trash bins are not emptied often enough so there is constant overflowing garbage and the bins are located very close to the apartments. I was ashamed to bring guests there because of these problems
DO NOT RENT HERE. Management is horrible, nothing gets fixed just rigged. Save yourself the headache .
Maintenance obviously hate their job. Always so negative whenever my husband needed his A/C fixed... 3 times during the summer.. Husband moved out and they're trying to suck money out of him for the most ridiculous things. Accused him of having a dog, no dog, but still has to pay for "pet treatment". Pools are always dirty or closed. Apartment smelled like dog urine whenever I'd visit, and stains from previous tenants started to come up. Disgusting, stay away.
I am very happy with our apartment and the service we receive. Views are beautiful.
My apartment is very spacious and my appliances are up to date and fully functional. The maintenance team here is spot on and they try their hardest to make sure everything gets fixed and brought up to code. The management team is very friendly and very professional, they go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of. The pools are always clean and the hot tubs are always nice and hot and bubbly. And when you send a email request for any maintenance action they make sure if they cannot get to it that day they notify you and give you the reasons why.
Even the 1 bedroom apartments have a "den" which is big enough to be a 2nd bedroom if you need one. The closet space is incredible! And the location is great! Not too far from the mall or target, but far enough that it's not super loud/busy. And the rent is definitely the best, for this size apartment, that I've seen. I pay less than $700/month for 926 square feet.
I've been a resident for a few months now and I would recommend it to anyone. Theres no other place close to this place for the price. The office staff is so friendly and they are on their toes. Place is keep so nice I use the gym everyday and everything works. Definitely check it out it cant be beat for the price.
I'd rather live in my car than ever sign a contract here again. I've been harassed and singled our ever since moving here. Have got complaints when not even home. Have had multiple leaks under my carpets and ceiling. One neighbor I swear has either cameras or seriously stocks everyone on everything they do. This neighbor calls in saying we don't pick up after our dogs multiple times when it's actually her who doesn't pick it up. She did this when I first moved in, she came up to me and said to watch out for my neighbor because she calls in everyone for everything. Well I soon figured out it was actually her who did this. So she is a liar and management believes her. I tried going in there multiple time to tell them this but they pretty much call me a liar and send threatening letters to my door all the time. I asked to get her higher manager and of course she was off for the week and it's been a week and still have heard nothing. Asked for a even higher manager and they don't know the number. I'm going to peruse this even higher and even legally because apparently the people who lived under this lady moved out early breaking there lease because this woman did the same thing to them and they couldn't take it anymore, and they people who lived in my apartment before me, same thing happened to them. I've gone in there every letter I get and get called a liar and they just walk away from me like I'm not even talking. I can not wait to move!! Please for the love of your sanity do not move here!!
I've lived here for 6 months with my Husband and we are extremely happy. The apartment rates are the most reasonable I've seen for the size around here. We have 910 square feet for under $700. Gorgeous views of the Catalinas, very quiet area, pretty nice apartments for the price! The only thing I'm kind of disappointed with is that the weight room is not in good condition. The equipment is old and not maintained. I would definitely enjoy using it if it were worth it =( The office staff has been nothing but friendly with us every time we walk in. There were a couple very small issues when we first moved in. The apartment had a bunch of small things that needed maintenance, and at first it seemed that we would be calling maintenance every week! The office and maintenance guys were extremely responsive and helpful though, and they got right on it. We haven't had maintenance needs in a few months now and we're extremely comfortable here.
