used to love Cortland Rosslyn, I have been living here for over 1.5 years and it has progressively gotten worse to the point where I do not see myself renewing my lease again. First, management is unresponsive and inaccessible. The last time I went to renew my lease I had to deal with a months long ordeal to get them to update an email address. Throughout the whole process the leasing office was unhelpful. Only when I called the corporate number did things get fixed. Second, this building’s quality is not good. For example, during the last heat wave we had a window shatter from the extreme heat. On the topic of windows, it has been over a year since the windows have been washed, so they are quite filthy. There are also cockroaches on the roof. Finally, the general day-to-day operations are no longer efficient. For example, packages are not put in the package room in a timely manner. I selected this building for its location and amenities, but frankly there are numerous other luxury apartment buildings that don’t have these kinds of problems.
If you’re considering making this building your new home, here’s a balanced look at what you can expect. While it’s true the rates here are slightly higher than some other options in the area, the value you receive makes it a worthwhile investment. The buildings quality and the apartments themselves justify the premium, offering a level of comfort and modern amenities that stand out. One of the major perks is the location. Situated conveniently near the metro and bus lines, it’s an excellent choice for those who rely on transportation. The ease of commuting or traveling around the city adds significant value to your daily routine. Additionally, it’s worth noting that the management team is doing a fantastic job of revitalizing the property. The atmosphere is evolving into something more welcoming and homey. You can feel the positive changes as they work to enhance the living experience here. Cannot recommend this apartment complex. Since Cortland took over management, they have changed the resident portal for the worse. Staff members do not respond to emails. We had significant challenges contacting anyone in the Department about renewing our lease. When we finally did we negotiated a price that has not been applied. Frequently have issues getting in touch with management, issues with fulfilling service requests fully, and not happy with our experience. Recommend moving somewhere worth the price.

I have LOVED my time at Cortland Rosslyn thus far. I have been here just about a month and have been impressed with her clean the buildings are kept and I love the variety of common spaces and amenities.

I moved to Cortland Rosslyn after living in DC for almost 10 years. It's been such a pleasant change. Cortland is in great location and super accessible to the areas I enjoy visiting in DC. The units are very well built and have nice finishes. Most of the neighbors are very friendly and courteous. The leasing staff and front desk staff are all very professional and polite. Highly recommend giving Cortland a visit!

A clean apartment block in a convenient location with good gym facilities. Lack of social programme and at times unresponsive communication is disappointing. Overall expensive in comparison to other accommodation options in Rosslyn.

I think the rental rates are high for the value of the apartments and the building. Overall, I like the apartment and the area, but I think the rate is already very high especially compared to other buildings in the area and of similar levels of "luxury" and decision to renew will be based on the rate moving forward. I wouldn't expect an increase considering the rates were already jacked up from the previous couple of years.

We moved into the Cortland in July and have really enjoyed our experience so far. Friendly staff and support for any issues we've had. The apartment complex is very clean, and if there are messes they're usually cleaned up pretty quickly. We've enjoyed living here! Looking forward to the summer when we can use the pool more regularly.

Having spent a little over a month at Cortland Rosslyn, I’m genuinely pleased with my experience. The location in Rosslyn is incredibly convenient, with city attractions and essential amenities just a stone’s throw away. Architecturally, the apartments strike a fine balance between modern design and homely comfort, which makes settling in a breeze. I’ve been particularly impressed with the management. They’re responsive, professional, and seem to genuinely care about the residents’ experience. The amenities offered, from the gym to communal spaces, are top-notch and cater well to the needs of a contemporary urbanite.

The building is great and the events they hold are so much fun. Josh has been amazing at hosting the events. A few weeks ago, we had an amazing one with catered food from Olive Garden, and another one was casino and comedy night. If there’s any questions I have, Tino and Brad have always been quick to respond. Mykelle from the leasing office is also amazing. I can’t say enough about all of the team members who work at Cortland Rosslyn. Thank you all for treating us so well and hosting great events!

This property was taken over by Cortland, and things have gotten substantially worse due to management. It’s an amazing building, the best in the area in terms of looks. But the management makes it all not worth it. There’s nothing luxury about the services you get here. They treat residents like college kids and see themselves as having some sort of authority as if this is a college or boarding school dorm. First of all, the people at the leasing office will go from nice to treating you as if you’re dead to them as soon as you raise any concern. So don’t be fool by their initial “nice”—it only lasts until you have concerns. And the building manager enables such behavior. There’s never coffee at their coffee machines. Grills don’t work very often. I’ve seen them threaten to call the cops on residents for having a small, quiet gathering (of 7 people). I constantly get emails about parking violations (I don’t have a car). I’m sure parking violations happen in all the buildings I previously lived in, but I never got emails about them because they dealt with the owner of the resident instead of trying to publicly shame a resident. It’s not hard to find out who each car belongs to because these are registered residents, but instead Cortland chooses to mass email everyone as a form of public shaming to the owner of the car and intimidation to other residents about parking. As I said this is their mentality. They don’t see the residents as their customers in a luxury building. They see themselves as an authority at a school dorm. All it is enabled by the building manager. They recently sneakily increased common area electricity charge from $15 to $120. That was their attempt to increase rent before each lease ended. They now claimed it was an error. Here’s how residents could tell it wasn’t an error: they sent out an email saying the change reflected a different calculation method. That showed the 800% increase was intentional. After a backlash, they immediately flip flopped to “it was an error.” There’s no honesty whatsoever with these people. And that’s the scary part about living here: the management has no integrity at all and they would screw you as much as they could until you pull some sort of legal protection. There’s no act of good faith on their part. There are many new apartment buildings under construction in the area. Please stay away from Cortland.

Our objective at Cortland Rosslyn is to provide an unparalleled quality of life for our residents, characterized by exceptional hospitality and a secure environment. We acknowledge the gravity of your concerns and would be delighted to attend to them. Our Resident Experience Associates, who maintain an open-door policy, are available at all times to offer assistance at our office located in the West Building. We understand that amenities such as coffee are essential to the community, and we replenish the machines weekly. In the event that the machine is empty, kindly notify us, and we will take prompt action to address the situation. Regarding the parking issue, our policy is to notify frequent parking violators who still need to register their vehicles or those who modify their parking decals by sticking them on other cars. Some residents have reserved parking, so a notification serves as a great effort to prioritize one's paid parking space. We would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this matter further along with any other concerns you may have. Lastly, a miscommunication was responsible for the confusion surrounding the common area utility bills. The common area utility addendum in all resident leases limits common area utility charges, and the cap was inadvertently left out of the invoices. I just moved into the Cortland Rosslyn and I could not be happier. First of all, Roxanne as amazing to work with. She was responsive, welcoming, and extremely attentive to all my questions. I changed my move in date and floor plan several times and she was patient and more that eager to help. I had one small hiccup during the move in process and she went above and beyond to fix it. The building itself is beautiful. After an initial walkthrough the apartment I can tell it is build better than other so called "luxury" buildings in the area. Solid wood floors, better cabinetry, etc. The amenities are great and thought out. The location is great, central. and convenient to both DC and Arlington. Above the new Foxtrot, next to CVS, and very close to the Safeway. I am looking forward to my time here. The front desk staff I've met so far have been incredibly warm and extremely knowledgable about the building eager to help the residents. I couldn't recommend it more.

Upon moving in, 90% of the outlets did not work, the AC has been making annoying ticking noises for the past 2 months, the garbage disposal did not work, among other issues. Other than that, the location is great and appliances are top-notch.

The leasing staff doesn't know answers to simple questions. The concierge are not given proper instructions regarding standard protocol. The management was not ready to open this site. Constant noise issues with dogs that are unaddressed. Leasing staff walk by trash on ground and don't pick it up. Lack of care by leasing staff.

We sold our beloved house here in Arlington VA, as our permanent home is now Hilton Head, SC. However, after living here almost our entire lives we could not give up Arlington and the DC area altogether, so we opted to rent in Aubrey. A great decision! So far I would recommend this course to empty nesters/retirees like ourselves. Aubrey and its lovely staff and occupants will keep us young forever!

This apartment is worth five stars, good construction quality, the appliances are smart and the layout is very new. The construction is modern in style. It's not cheap, but it's worth it. The location is also very good and it is very convenient to get to DC.

Wonderful Rosslyn living. State of the art appliances and top amenities including the rooftop entertainment area. Incredible views too! Convenient to everything. However the move in experience was terrible. Theres no real welcome packet to explain everything you need to know including how to lock your high tech front door
