If you’re looking for a quiet, neighborhood friendly place, this is the spot to live!! It’s such an inviting complex and I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else!!
Apparently Cortland competence, service quality and professionalism applies to their maintenance team as well as their office admin staff. Being a chronic complainer I'm desperately trying to find anything wrong with my Cortland community and I can't so far.
I've been a resident here for a few years. And this is the most professional staff I've experienced.
I love the thoughtfulness of these apartments especially with the esthetics of the interior of the units. The pools are clean and the amenities are nice. Gym is great and the BBQ area I love. Team is great too!
biggest issue in this complex is appliances are very old from dishwasher to refrigerator and AC buying refrigerator from China. That brand new one is been made 40 years ago and it makes crazy sound and the dishwasher is probably for 20 years ago as well as the AC. they need to invested more money when they promise they’re consumer your moving to renovated unit, but the reality is not renovated only based on the color of the wall and the bathroom that’s all about it.
Terrific apartments, in a friendly environment, managed by people who care!
I have absolutely zero complaints living here. I have thoroughly enjoyed it.
The management and maintenance know you by name. They treat everyone with respect. They treat every issue as urgent and resolve it asap. It is very obvious they respect the fact that this is our home and they treat it like their own. The remodeled units are a much needed upgrade that really makes the space feel bigger and more welcoming. The area is literally walking distance to all of the daily necessities like groceries, different coffee shops, brunch, nail salon, Dollar Tree, spirts bar, Moutain Fitness gym, pizza, veterinarian, pharmacy, McDonald's, gas station, bus stop, restaurants, hardware store, antique jewelry store, Montessori school, preschool, park, hiking trails and a car wash. It is also a 7-10 min drive to Walmart, Costco, AJs, more restaurants, Mayo Clinic, Rarget, Shea, the 101 North. You definitely cant beat the location. I love it here.

My 4th year renting here - Cortland is clean and cosy, yet fairly modern inside out. Management is responsive and accommodating. Well priced considering it's location in my opinion. Other than valet trash pickup miss or hit schedule I can't think of anything negative to mention.

If you’re considering moving in anytime soon, just be aware every unit is getting a complete demo and the noise is pretty unbaredable. I work night shift and it’s not uncommon to only get a few hours of sleep because construction starts before 8am. I am happy every unit is getting updated, because it’s greatly needed. I’ve been a resident for the past 5 years and it was freshly remodeled when I moved in but it was clear quality products were not a priority at the time. As far as my apartment, the carpet is warped and coming up in multiple places, the floor of both my bathtubs are peeling off, my air conditioner has leaked streams of water off and on for years despite repair (it’s finally fixed now), there is a squishy section under the floor in my kitchen, the walls are super thin and I can hear my downstairs neighbors often, part of my bedroom window caved in during a storm, and the gym is difficult to use due to a lack of circulating air. Apparently the gym is getting renovated as well but I had to get a gym membership because it’s just way too hot to use. During the renovations, there were some structural updates to the frames near the doors. My husband and I were sitting on the couch when several inches of an electric saw punched through the wall from outside and sparks were flying as it descended directly towards where he was sitting. I jumped up and told them to stop, they put duct tape on the hole, and the manager (at the time) gave me a $25 visa gift card. Maybe as a “sorry we almost sawed into your husbands head”. This community is not gated, so anyone is free to come and go. Despite this, I have never once felt like this is an unsafe community. There is no assigned parking and a majority of the parking spaces are coverer. This is a dog friendly community with lots of grassy areas and a small dog “park”. I’ve never had an issue with dogs running around off leash as most owners are pretty mindful of their animals. Everyone that lives here is very nice and welcoming and the surrounding area feels safe as well. The current management seems nice, and from what I’ve seen, the new apartments will be updated with new appliances and a general overhaul. I’m hopeful that they will give this place the facelift it needs.
Looked at places all around here. Best value by far for Scottsdale. Good staff. Good apartments. Very professional. Plenty of parking, two pools, large pet park.

You pay for a garbage pickup service that only comes when they feel like it. Yard work is only done when they feel like it. The safety features (literally just old lights) are dysfunctional and broken. The dog waste baskets pile to the brim with stink they only take when the magic eight ball says its time, if they aren't just leaving it smeared on the sidewalk. The pools are always closed. They literally refused to look at our AC not working in one room, telling us to close other vents (which makes it hotter and doesn't help). The sink handle broke off and they just put it back on lol, came right off again and we didn't bother. My fiance straight up was locked on the patio in the heat once (second floor) because the lock broke and closed on her, when we brought it up it wasnt even acknowledged. Nobody answered the phone in the office for her. It was 110+ that day good thing I wasnt far from home. Our patio door is falling off and I guess because we did our notice they ignored it - management let me know a few days later that someone was supposed to have come by already. I had already gotten it back on after slicing my thumb on door because AC is important and costly here. They also sent a survey out for complaints etc and never addressed it. Half the residents smoke and they just banned it. And what are they doing with rent? Only hiking it of course. Which really brings me to my anger. The new lease explicitly says if your dog even so much as pees on a bush on their way to the grass, management can come in and take them to the pound. You're only allowed white, uniform curtains. You cannot display anything externally. You cannot store things in your storage closet, or keep laundry on your patio where literally the washer and dryer are. You CAN'T HAVE RUGS. And what's terrifying is that when I brought this up, management openly stated "they wouldn't enforce it if they saw it." So why is it in legal writing? Is it just so that if they don't like you they can target you? They also tried to say it is "just general"... I just signed a new lease with a new place that says nothing of the sort. I straight up know people who live in entirely different complexes but owned by Cortland and you know what? They're leaving. They're sick of all the same exact things. Just some money crazed company buying up properties, hanging residents out to dry, and stealing their money. Truly despicable. Avoid at all costs.

The pictures online dont match the apartments. The apartment is outdated. The ventilation is very poor. I only get air or heat primarily from the living room, the rest of the house is hot in the summer and cold in the winter. When something needs to be replaced it’s a quick fix, its always noticeable and ugly to look at. Some units have ceiling fans and others don’t however we have the same rent, lastly and most important they have roaches inside the unit. Would not recommend!
We have a bad experience with this apartment. It was better with the previous management. The current management(2018 JULY- centerra) is the worst ever management. No proper response to any query you raise. No proper water shutoff notifications No useful amenities. (not useful fire pit)and Electronic locker system(waste of monthly maintenance fee) Harsh reply from the clubhouse assistance and employees.(Tera Wright) Not friendly community. No play friendly places for kids. safety is a big concern . High rent after the new management for the same old units. Pathetic AC units and loud noise. and many more. Better not to occupy this apartment.
I am extremely satisfied living at Centerra for many reasons but I am going to specifically speak about the staff in this review. This staff is incredible and has been since day one. They consistently exceeded my expectations by going above and beyond to meet my requests and needs. There is never a day where a smile is not on every single one of their faces and honestly, they are just awesome to be around. They all have a genuine and sincere quality about them and are very down to earth. They are patient, understanding and will take time to listen to you. I am a pretty needy and picky person, always coming to them with questions and strange requests but they have never once made me feel uncomfortable or bad for all of the things I bring up. I can tell that they all care about this property and go out of their way to maintain its beauty. Centerra used to be called by a different name and was owned by another management team. Before Centerra took over, this property had many issues but ever since they took over I can see all of the improvements! The property is being updated and becoming more functional to everyday needs. It is finally fitting into the level of quality and sophistication that the 85259 zip code offers. My husband and I would like to thank the staff for all of their hard work and dedication. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Tami, Patricia, Ryan and Felix for all that you have done. I can see how much you care about this property and I am extremely happy to call Centerra my home!
Despite some of the bumps in lack of upgrades, things get done here. Even w the maintenance temporary workers you are at least being acknowledged
First off, be aware that there may be great rent discrepancies between you and your neighbor should you move here. I moved in a full year before my neighbor, and her rent was $200/mo cheaper than mine, even though she even had a pet and I did not. When I commented on this to the office, I got some excuse of fixed corporate rates blah blah blah. Secondly, noise, noise, noise. Be prepared to hear the snoring and intimate moments of your neighbors through your bedroom walls (and vice versa) If you do not live on the top floor, upstairs neighbors sound like elephants. I don't believe that my upstairs neighbors were intentionally that loud; the floors and insulation were just that poor. I lived under two elderly men and I could hear their conversations, their arguments, and anytime anything was dropped on the floor, let alone footsteps. Furthermore, the property is under massive telephone wires and the buzzing of electricity is audible all over the complex (I can't help but wonder what cancer I've developed from living under those things.) The plumbing was really shoddy. Whenever I would turn on my faucets or shower, it sounded like the pipes were about to explode by the squealing sounds. Furthermore, I had an air conditioning issue which continued for months and months, despite frequent complaints to maintenance and multiple attempts to repair it. The air conditioning would leak continuously. I literally had to put a bucket under the air conditioning to catch the water or deal with a constant, ever growing puddle. And when putting in requests for anything to be fixed, you had to figure it would be at least 4 days to a week before they might get around to it. They never did fix the air conditioning before I finally moved. The staff seemed ok, although the faces in the office were always changing and turn over seemed high. The location is nice and the neighbors friendly, but I wouldn't recommend this being at the top of your list if you have other options.
Poor maintenance service, had a tub resurfaced due to cracks and leaking. Floor of tub is now uneven and water pools at the back. Repair workers flushed duct tape after they were finished and toilet does not flush properly. Fumes from product used to resurface tub caused a headache to the point I was unable to function. It is now a year later and the tub is cracking again. Air conditioner is so loud it sounds like a jet passing over the building. This is normal for all the units. Issue with upstairs resident who is loud and active during what is considered quiet time. I have been woken up by her loud banging from as early as 1am morning and this is when I have to get up at 5am to get ready for work. Management unwilling to assist with a permanent solution. I cannot recommend this complex to anyone.
Not a big fan of the color of the outside colors but everything else is good
Quick to fix anything that is broken. Quiet apartment complex. Not very up to date, but rent is inexpensive, so that's ok. People don't pick up after their own pets enough which is irritating, but is found anywhere.
