The Woodward Park community is a highly residential area, encompassed by great schools, diverse restaurants, and its namesake park. Adjacent to the San Joaquin River, the park covers approximately 300 acres and includes a peaceful Japanese garden with teahouse – the perfect place to connect with nature. Property Ratings at Cotswolds
I would not recommend living here. Although these apartments are advertised as pet friendly, the only pet friendly part is allowing pets in your unit. There are no sliding glass doors to instal a pet door for the patio. All of the 1 bedroom units have a row of three garages below your entire unit, so you hear garage doors opening day and night under you. I have also encountered poor management and staff issues.
Like most reviews of The Cotswalds, this starts with the security deposit rip off. I left my apartment spotless, carpet professionally cleaned, and they kept my entire deposit. It's how they make money. The other issues are as follows: CONS: -appliances are cheap and extremely outdated. -washer and dryer are in the unit, but are so loud that we would only run them when we were out of the apartment. You can hear the neighbors units running through the walls -if you live adjacent to Hyde and Vine side, be prepared to not be able to sleep on friday and saturday nights. The noise and drunken violence coming from Hyde and Vine is ridiculous. Complained to management at Cotswolds and Hyde and Vine,; neither of them did anything. -if you live on the street side; it's extremely noisy. you won't be able to open your windows. -cockroaches in our apartment. They were in our tubs and beds. (at this point we moved). -when we moved in, our dog started having seizures. We took her to vet and she felt that there was something in the environment that was causing the seizures. Since we moved, the seizures have stopped. I can't say for sure, but the pesticide that they spray on all of the landscaping might have been the cause. Not sure what caused them when we moved in to Cotswalds, but they stopped when we moved. -there is carpeting in most of the units; I had ours cleaned when we moved in and it was filthy. -some of the residents are pretty trashy and there's a lot of open drinking and smoking going on. Not great if you have kids. -lots of extra charges which add up -parking more than one car is a problem (as in there isn't any on site parking), not great if you have 2 cars or a guest. PROs: -the supermarket is close -the grounds are kept up well (but with pesticides). Given
The staff is RUDE. They say they will take $25 off rent if they don't resolve an issue, that's a lie. Air conditioning people come and bang up the walls, turn your air full blast and expect you to pay for that as well. Can't forget to mention that they don't tell you about water and sewage expenses until AFTER you already gave the deposit. Not everyone parks in their garage so if you come home and there's no parking, you have to park by Hyde n Vine and walk inside the gate. The fitness center sucks, they don't have mats for you to use, they say "oh you could buy your own & bring it." The fitness center cable machine sticks. They only give ONE key fob for you and roommates. Hate spiders? The spider and roach problem is pretty ridiculous. They have pest control come out every Friday & don't give you an actual time. They say not to park in front of your garage (for some areas only) and people block you from your own garage so you're forced to park outside of your garage. Another inconvenience too cause you pay for your own garage but a lot of the time, the neighbors block it AND the office does not do anything about it. The walls are paper thin, you can hear your neighbors conversations. A bunch of college students that smoke weed, you can't have your windows open without it smelling like you're growing it. Got my PG&E bill, it was all their expenses for having an air issue & them continuously running it. They don't even offer incentives for their illiteracy.
Beware of this Wolfs in Sheep's clothing apartment complex, it's clean, safe, and beautiful but the office management is arrogant, condescending, liars, snooty, uppity, fake, fearful and intimidated of minority intelligence, defensive, disregarding and I could go on, oh and they are Security Deposit Thugs even if you professionally shampoo the carpets and clean the place better than when you rented it, they will even charge you on top of keeping your deposit, the office management is completely shady and dishonest they will smile in your face in the beginning but watch out when you turn your back, I mean, when you leave the apartment. You've been warned.
I love THIS place! The management staff is so friendly, welcoming, & attentive. They are so professional, yet approachable. I love the lush green grass, park like setting, & well-maintenance grounds. They IMMEDIATELY repair any & everything requested in person or online within 24 hours! I can even pay my rent online. Now how cool is that?! I'm thoroughly impressed!
