Property Ratings at Cottage Cove
Community is great! Renovation is Amazing, The environment in general is just beautiful Thanks to the leasing department for getting me a apartment in a timely manner.
Cottage Cove was nothing but headaches, lies and problems. The staff is horrible, you can never reach anyone on the phone ever! I had issues from day 1 when the apartment was not ready for 3 weeks after the lease start date and I had to pay to live in a hotel. Finally it was ready and 1st time it rained my bedroom ceiling had a huge leak. It took 2 months for the leak to be repaired, so every time it rained my bed got soaked and the plumbing bakes up as well. The entire neighborhood floods with light rain so you will need to carry waterproof boots at all times to avoid swimming back to your home. Don't be tricked by the renovations because it is still infested with ants, roaches and god know what else. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere, you will thank me later.
I lived there for 20 years. I fulfilled my lease and didn’t skip rent. I did everything properly and they refused to give me my deposit. I had the normal wear and tear of an apartment and they said my carpet was dirty which they should be changing anyway. I cleaned the apartment and they said that I didn’t. They’re renovating so why do you claim my carpet is dirty. I guess they planned to reuse the carpet. They are LIARS and they look for foolishness that will equal your deposit then indicate that you’re not entitled to it. I see they let the roaches remain in their homes that was nice of them. THEY WILL KEEP YOUR DEPOSIT NO MATTER WHAT
Respectfully, to anyone that’s thinking about moving here please don’t. This has got to be about the most negligent apartment complex I’ve ever lived in, i wish i could give this place 0 stars. From the moment of move in I’ve had problems that have included not having a working dryer when it was supposedly new which it took about 13 days to replace, open outlets in multiple places of the apartment, the breaker constantly popping, i quite literally did not have a key to my own mail box till day 28 and did not have a working microwave till day 27. Which is just amazing, I’m not much of a complainer but i think you can agree with me these are basic human necessities. And to top it all off today on day 50 when the alarm system was finally installed the code that i submitted to the office with my paper work when i first moved in did not work which caused me to listen to the alarm go off for about 15-20 mins nonstop. I proceeded to call ADT the alarm company and although nice they couldn’t help me because the office never submitted my paperwork and they don’t have my information. So here i am stuck with an alarm that doesn’t stop sounding every single time i open the door which i notified management and they just didn’t seem to care about it nor think it’s an emergency. Don’t get me wrong there are a few decent people in the property office but the property manager is probably the worst person in the world that i have ever dealt with from completely ignoring my concerns to straight up telling my 9 month pregnant wife that she was going to refuse to fix issues in our apartment. Save yourself the trouble this property is a joke lmfao.
I repeat, DO NOT MOVE HERE. The employees in the leasing office are extremely negligent. They only care about getting your money. They have admitted that the plumbing here is the original cast iron plumbing from when the buildings were originally constructed. Ever since we have moved here in February 2022, we’ve had problems with the plumbing. The toilet was leaking ferociously and caused a flood in my apartment OVER TEN TIMES. It has caused damaged to the floor moldings in the unit, as well as water damage to my personal property. I complained to the office that I believe there is now mold under my floor, with pictures and videos of water under the flooring. She then proceeded to disrespect me, and say that my apartment must be dirty and that isn’t mold I see, it’s dirt accumulating. Just today we got charged a late fee for the rent. We paid the rent September 2. They proceeded to process the payment today, September 8. We got charged a late fee because they decided to wait an entire week to process the payment. My girlfriend called the office, explained the situation with proof of payment from a bank statement. He hung up the phone and declined the following calls she made. She finally had to take time out of her work schedule to show up, raise hell at the office and show them that we paid the rent on time. She had to do all of that just for them to remove a late fee, that they themselves caused, yet attempted to charge us. It is unbelievable the experience we’ve had living here. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE to move here. Save yourself the time, money, headaches and look elsewhere. They are gentrifying the neighborhood. Everyone that was here when we moved in has since moved out. I went to the office for a complaint about the plumbing and right on the managers desk was a large STACK of papers and all of them were “ notice of non-renewal “. There plan the entire time was to gentrify this neighborhood. Slap some mulch and new signs up, and then charge a premium for a 1 bedroom apartment. The flooring is terrible. There is gaps between the laminate wood flooring and concrete below it. Be very careful if you drop anything because due to the void between floors, the laminate flooring gets damaged EXTREMELY EASY. I can continue to go on about the issues here but it’ll turn into an essay.
Infested with roaches. It looks good on the outside, but lots of problems inside. I've been here for more than 2 months but still have no alarm. I opened a service request, it's been 3 weeks before they fixed my issues. It's hard to contact them through phone and email. I feel like my email is being ignored when I ask about the alarm.
the large 2/2 is spacious but the buildings are old, molded and issue with pest control
Staff always have an attitude & the apartments are dirty roaches n rats ?? worse place to go
I haven't even seen the place with my own eye solely because the staff I spoke with is always in a bad mood or have a condescending attitude. I wish I had spoke with someone polite because it "looks" like a great place to live but if this is the staff I would have to deal with while living there then heck no! I hope whoever is reading this have a better experience.
I thought this was a decent place to live. Now I'm so ready to leave this hood place. Your property is not even safe. This place is far from quite seeing a whole bunch of guys hanging outside shirtless, smoking, littering, and making noise. You'll think you'll at the Jungle. I'm so disappointed and ready to go. Controlling Ants and Roaches. Ugh will only be hear one year once my lease is up that will be it for me. Wish I can break it now. So ready to leave this place.
Went to check this place out. I had questions about the availability and location for seniors but man working the leasing office was a smug jerk. Answered 1 question saying he had nothing for 2 months maybe. Then just ignored my follow up question. if this is how they treat prospectives i can just inagine how CCL treats its residents. avoid if possible
The worst place ti live, bad neighborhood, unprofessional management, no service, roaches everywhere in the apartment, wrong charges.
Pretty decent place to start off. A few minor issues. Other than that, its fine.
One and two story buildings. Modest living facility. Rent is $892.00 a month for a one bedroom unit.
When I first saw review of Cottage Cove I was very hesitant to visit. But after coming in my worries let up. The staff wasn't the most pleasant but they were quick and too the point. Very easy to work with and got everything situated for me quickly. I'm now moved in and pleased with my apt. My only issue is that the apt doesn't have central air. Otherwise it's great.
My apt was full of roaches and mice that were coming out the walls never saw an exterminator there were things broken that I couldn't get fixed for months the office staff are rude
The apartments are infested with rats and roaches. Management refuses to fix anything wrong with the apartments. I was told they would be painting the apartments (which are in need of a paint job badly), it's been 6 months and they have yet to do so. Please save yourself and your family the headache and heartache and stay far away from this place.
I visited my relatives who just moved in & it was a surprise to know the amount they are paying for their place, & I saw a lot of roaches. The building needs to be painted. A lot of work needed at Cottage Cove before I would even considering moving there.
